I went looking for Freddie's because I was jonesing for a bratwurst. He's pretty easy to find on the Pearl Street Mall, across the street from the Ben & Jerry's store. This time I got the pork bratwurst, based on reviews, I may try the elk brat next time. Mike is very nice, and turns out he only lives a few streets from me. This hot dog stand is a standout for sure. It's not your run of the mill hot dog stand. They have special dogs for such as Elk (has jalapeño and cheese blended inside), pork brat, all beef, turkey, Buffalo and veggie. They also have local speciality chips and an assortment of sodas. We elected for the elk dogs and omg they were delicious. The added jalapeños and cheese blend along with pickles and chilli, made for a really naughty, messy and yummy treat. Aside from providing an easy, cheap, and convenient snack while walking the mall, the people who work at the cart are all very helpful and amiable. The man who now owns the cart has an extensive knowledge about Boulder and can give you many good suggestions on topics that range from where to eat in Boulder, to where to get a good haircut! The cart is not only open during the day (11AM-8PM)!
