The chili dog with white onions is as close to an east coast chili dog that I know of in boulder ( i know its not the same but its as close as you get here). This place is a solid four stars and in my opinion five for the food. It's small and older with no real parking available but if you're from Chicago and crave a Chicago style hot dog or Italian Beef then you definitely found the right place. Was in the area for the Boulder Creek Festival. I have eaten here before but really didn't know they served Italian beef. I got the large and was in a food coma afterwards. LOL. The manager was great and chatted us up on all things Chicago. The prices are on point compared to other food establishments in the area. Damn good Italian beef sandwich. Hot giardenia was perfect. Oh my gosh did I use more napkins than I ever thought! I have only been to Chicago once, and that was for the pizza. I have acquired a love for Italian Beef sandwich from Portillo's in Arizona. It's even better here, and I was able to pick it up hot after ordering online. Fries were also awesome, and I am picky with fries. I pretty much only order them if I am trying out a new place, or if I know they are good. A bit reminiscent of those at 5 Guys, but not as greasy. The employees are friendly enough, but the reason I'm giving this place 1 star is because of the astronomical prices! $17.56 for 2 hot dogs??!! Just 2 hot dogs with ketchup and mustard, $17.56!! You would think for that price the restaurant would be nice but I'll never go to this craphole again!! I feel like I'm supporting the owner's drug habit. I didn't even eat, I just bought my son 2 small hotdogs that he ate in under 3 minutes. There are several other restaurants in Boulder I could get a boatload of food for $17.56. This is a no frills hot dog/burger stand in the center of Boulder with a fairly decent variety to pick from, including nice vegetarian hot dog and chili options. I got just a regular Chicago style dog w/ some french fries. The price is decent, but the hot dog itself was just okay to me. I liked the toppings they used, and it was really flavorful, but the dog itself wasn't my favorite, seemed kind of like a regular dog that you can buy at the grocery store. Went here this evening for dinner with my family and the place was filthy. Then I caught the 18% tip applied on my card I definitely did not authorize. They claimed their credit card machine automatically does this so beware of that. I definitely would not recommend using a card here. I told my husband I have to run to the bathroom and the employee jumped up and ran in to it before me and then holed himself in there for 25 minutes. I went into the secondary bathroom and found urine all over the place and there was urine filled in the urinal that smelled like a bum had been living in there. I asked the employee for assistance and they didn't even bother to clean it up! Also no clean tables today, I guess cleanliness is not their too priority here, so wonder where else they are cutting corners maybe the food area is unsanitary also. Neither is courteousness a priority here. I can't justify ever coming here again it's gone way downhill and nothing what is use to be. Ordering online works great, ordering in person is a little harder but they do have a window. The soy dog is better than most; that's usually the core of my order. The Teenie Weenie is half-size and works for some kids; ours prefers to share a corn dog with someone (the cornbread is quite sweet).
