There are many ice cream shops but not many have the quality of Freedo. Freedo is an Argentinian brand that focuses on organic and hormone free dairy for their ice cream. Something I love about their product, is the richness of its flavor. I want my dulce de leche ice cream to taste exactly like that. Nothing more disappointing that putting in your mouth ice cream that's only a cold and colored scoop of sugar. Also, I love the fact they can make real espresso coffe to pair with your dessert. Hello Helado! Freddo is located in the Millecento building in Brickell, two blocks away from Mary Brickell Village and steps away from its competitor Cinquecento. Like the location in SoBe, Freddo ships its helados from Argentina to keep quality control. Freddo's helados are free of trans fats, artificial flavorings, colorants, preservatives and vegetable fats. This location is very spacious and therefore more welcoming. The helado flavor selection is extensive but you can also get croissants (media lunas) and churros as well as pre-packaged wraps and sandwiches. The prices are reasonable starting at $4.75 for a regular cup to $7.50 for a large cone or $8 for their signature Freddino (helados blended with coffee). The staff is friendly and offers advice on helado flavors, and you can try plenty of samples before making your selection. My all-time favorite flavor is the Dulce de Leche Choco Chip. Like anywhere in Brickell, it's hard to find parking but there's street parking and valet. The good news is that Freddo also delivers! I went in last night after a day of brunch and mimosas. We needed a nice place that had different options for dessert and Freddo was the perfect place. I had the Lava Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream and this was very delicious. The Lava Cake was exactly the way it needed to be, very warm with a nice runny middle. Rich and creamy gelato, but it'll cost you a pretty penny. Stopped here for a sweet treat after eating dinner nearby. If you don't know by now, I love sweets, so there was no way a small scoop of ice cream would satisfy me. I went for the large size in a cup rather than a cone because I'm too cheap to pay the additional $1.60 for a cone, and it was easier to walk around after with the cup. I ordered a Neapolitan because you get 3 flavors with the large and it cost $8 for literally a cup of gelato. I'm a baker so yes, I eyed the 3 scoops as equivalent to one cup. Now I feel silly for not shelling out $4 for a pint of Talenti. The gelato was rich and creamy as stated earlier (chocolate more so). The server layered and smashed the flavors down, unrepresentative of the photo that displays a mountain of gelato with multiple scoops. I went in February so no worries about meltage. As good as it was, it's a little too rich for my taste. I will continue to stick with my gallon Breyers/Dreyers and $2/12 pack sugar cones. Nice splurge if you're looking for your gelato fix. I first Yelped ice cream around the area and this popped up along side Hagen Dos. I wanted to try something different so I ventured out here and so happy I did! Just a little note for out of towners, if you put this on google map it's not accurate. It's actually on the corner of 11st street right passed the flatiron building being built... staff is uber friendly. They let me try a bunch of flavors and gave me their fav recommendations. Sometimes people hate letting you taste, but here there were very appeasing. I got the Italian mascarpone which I highly recommend. It's not too sweet and has some raspberry swirl. OMG!!! I can't believe there's a little slice of BA Gelato in Miami!!!! Ok, so I tried Freddo for the first time in Bueno's Aires a couple of years back. Every time I've been back I got to a Freddo and grab a bite and now I don't need to catch a 9 hour flight!!! Things to try: dulce de leche Gelato of course. Ok so they have a variety. Try them all and get your favorite. I like mixing the dulce de leche with coconut or chocolate but I've tasted some really interesting mixes. Freddo's is good. The gelato is rich and the flavors pack a punch. It's a fun place to top off a night hanging out with friends. However, The service is sometimes very slow and subpar (messed up an order). I almost always get the dark chocolate gelato paired with something lighter. Brickell has been missing a dedicated ice cream spot, and lo and behold, hello Freddo! Their products are creamy and indulgent, the perfect guilty pleasure treat. They also serve a variety of espresso products. Here, you'll find pretty much every flavor you can ever think of so it can be a bit overwhelming trying to decide, especially when they all taste so good! My favorite flavor is the Italian mascarpone with swirls of raspberry. Just be aware that the gelato tends to melt very quickly in the Miami heat, so do yourself a favor and get your gelato in a cup instead of a cone, unless you plan on devouring it within a minute (totally acceptable) or are fond of sticky ice cream hands. read more

I ordered the regular sundae with Dulce de Leche, Dulce de Leche with strawberries and Italian Mascarpone layered with chocolate brownies, caramel crisp and some sort of strawberry jam topping. The gelato quality is by far the best gelato you will eat anywhere. However I am extremely unhappy with the absolutely clueless staff, these people have NO IDEA how to serve a proper gelato cone. I paid almost $7 for a cone that was supposed to be large but was only approximately one scoop of crumbling melting disaster that measured 1 inch tall.. are you joking? train your staff on how to properly serve gelato!! I feel absolutely ROBBED of the amount of gelato I should have received. If you ever get Freddo in Argentina, you'll receive a perfectly sculpted mountain that measures at least 5 inches tall.. in the Brickell location it's a disgrace what they are handing the customers! at those prices you should have highly trained employees. The quality of service that I received while visiting this place was unfathomably unwelcoming. The employees had the most dreadful attitudes toward serving customers that I have ever seen in my life. Additionally, while preparing to close, a young woman with brown hair pointed at my friends and me indicating she was displeased that we were financially contributing to the business she works for while also furthering her job security. The woman swept the floors indignantly proceeding to sweep debris on the ankles of customers. You should be able to order and get you're gelato and then pay for it.
