went to the office for my annual physical. They did not do any bloodwork, nor did they submit the paperwork from my referrals that they were supposed to. Additionally, the doctor asked if there was anything else I would like to talk about. I mentioned that was having some trouble sleeping. And we talked briefly.(No more than 2-3 Minutes about that subject) The office charged me for a second visit for that brief conversation. And would not remove the charges, even when I objected. I cannot stress enough that you should avoid this doctors office. They are very clearly not interested in inpatient care, and simply interested in a profit. I have been going to various FPCA offices for nearly a decade now, and I thoroughly regret switching from the Ballenger Creek location (but I could never get an appointment) to this one in Urbana. My latest appointment left me feeling as though I have no choice but to find a new primary care physician. I had recently gotten lab work done by a hospital as part of a clinical study - when the results came back I was able to tell I had some form of infection. I made an appointment to see the doctor at FCPA in hopes they could confirm this and prescribe me some treatment. Upon reiterating this to the doctor, and physically showing him all the lab results his response was "oh did Doctor Google tell you all this?" I said no and that I am a critical care nurse so I can interpret most lab values, but that I came in order to confirm. He said "oh so you're doctor nurse then, huh?" I found this incredibly rude and degrading. Part of my exam involved taking a look in my pelvic region and completing a swab. Initially they said they wouldn't complete this for me because they don't do "women exams." I said that this is something men get too and what would they do if a man came in with the same results to which they responded that they would do the test. The doctor and nurse left the room and ultimately decided they would complete the swab with a female doctor. Totally fine by me and I was being pleasant about the whole thing, but simply just wanted to be seen and treated. I didn't feel like I was asking for a lot since I have seen a PCP for this issue in the past and it was fine. The doctor came in, admitted she hasn't done this in forever (again totally fine I get it), fumbled around for what felt like forever, and then threw the swabs on the counter without putting them in the vials. The nurse came back in and touched the vaginal swabs with bare hands and put them into the vials. Eventually, they ran their tests and did prescribe me medication which cleared the problem. I am thankful for that, but the entire experience made me feel like I was not valued as a patient. It was very clear that this team felt I was being annoying and unreasonable despite the fact that I was being incredibly understanding, pleasant, and simply asking to be treated for something that is a primary care level problem. As a fellow healthcare worker, I am truly appalled by the attitudes from both the nurse and doctor that took care of me on this day. read more

When I went in for a routine PAP smear, they sent it to an out-of-network lab for processing. Mind you I have a CareFirst partner plan, so it isn't like I have "weird" insurance. They just could not be bothered to send it to the right place. So now a service that should have been covered at 100% isn't covered at all. Their carelessness has a price tag. In this case, about $450. This is especially concerning since they are always trying to get their patients to go there to have their labs drawn. So I am sure this is not the 1st or last time this has happened. read more

I have been with FPCA Urbana for a number of years, and really love Dr Zoe Ajebon as my physician. However, I can no longer recommend this practice and am indeed looking for an alternative practice to use. I had a consultation in June requiring a follow up in 3 months. The earliest I could schedule was the end of November. That was cancelled. The earliest they could reschedule was 2 January. Today, that appointment was cancelled and Dr Zoe has no more appointments available before she leaves the practice. No attempt to go the extra mile to fit me in, despite being cancelled twice. Instead, I was offered an appointment with a PA, not a physician. In addition, when I came back from an overseas trip in November with a nasty respiratory infection that had progressed to a severe case of bronchitis, no-one in the practice could fit me in to treat me. If you cannot schedule to see your physician, it does not matter how good they are. Time to find a new practice that actually is willing to see and treat me. read more

The whole medical network through this system they've been using for Urbana that runs in Frederick County from Thomas Johnson Dr. to Crestwood Blvd has become totally ineffective for your medical needs over the past few years. There hasn't been more than a span of maybe 1 1/2 years between doctors they continually make me shift. The doctors they had years ago were great but have become these opinionated, busy, cold people that don't stay longer than a year or two if you're lucky. I have eczema, and one of their nurses wouldn't stop trying to 'help' me by always mentioning to me when I itch even just a bit. Very condescending. And the final nail-- I've been trying to adjust to Urbana's office. I got a new doctor who I've seen once, and I didn't like him so they told me I could switch. I wanted to get something checked and so I went to make an appointment with them on the phone and the person on the phone was either incredibly apathetic or on something, because I spelled my last name out to them three or four times. She told me twice a wrong last name, and then after the fourth time being very clear with her she was like, "yeah, I have the list and I don't see you. Those two doctors are leaving. We're taking new patients in JANUARY." Awful. Will do everything I can never to have to use their cold, miserable system again. Good luck to those of you trying to find a new practice. read more

The new management has extremely unethical billing practices. I paid a bill as soon as I received it and they credited it to the wrong account. When I called they said a refund would be issued and I told them I would pay it again once I received the refund. Three phone calls later, the refund still hasn't been issued and they sent the original bill to collections. Go to Meritus instead - fare better care and administration. read more

Written by the wife of the name of the poster. FIND A BETTER PRACTICE THAT WILL TREAT YOU WITH RESPECT AND COMPASSION. We were patients with Frederick PCA for over 30 years. Dr. Amy Jones was a good doctor and we were able to get in to see her at any time. She kept up on our health and worked with specialists when we needed them. Before covid, my spouse had two strokes, under the care then by a neurologist in frederick, and Dr. Jones was kept abreast with the treatment. She retired an Dr. I took her place. How I was treated flippantly when I went in for a check bothered me. His perscription was in their care. I called in June 2023 to check on it. I was told my husband was dropped from the practice because he had not come in to see them since 2019, although they were under the 'umbrella' with the cardiologist and the neurologist. Dropped! I couldn't believe it. Very upsetting and with no notice. Nothing! I asked if they would check and I got a call the next day saying for him to be 'reinstated' he was denied. I saw the new doctor last fall. Not since since I haven't been sick and needed a doctor. This is medically wrong and would never have happened under Dr. Jones. Now we need to search for a new practice, hopefully one that doesn't require we see them even when we are not sick. I no longer will recommend this practice. read more

I finally am done with your office. The front staff constantly hangs up on me when the relay is announcing themselves, that's rude. I just found out who my primary care doctor is this week, no word on who my new doctor was going to be after Dr. Fitleberg retired, rude again, no communication. I called to make an appointment and was told I must finish the medication I'm on before I can make another appointment. I know the medication I'm on isn't working, what kind of service is that? I'm done!!! Avoid this office at all costs!!! If there was a rating of 0, this is what the office would be getting. read more

As other has mentioned the level of care here is not up to par. I also was dismissed for bogus reasons without even a call. They claim I missed appointments which was only two. They have rescheduled my appointments last minute on their side more than I can count but apparently that's ok. I am a working professional and it take an act of god to get in touch with folks. They never return calls in timely fashion and frequently don't refill perceptions promptly. I go on for doctors visit and the PA acts like she is scared to touch me. They are happy to talk but basic medical care that actually involves using medical skills is lacking. The folks don't really seem to care on there and the one doctors that was excellent Dr Bonnie Fittleberg retired. They don't like it when you complain about anything and will find ways to dismiss you without even trying to find solution. Their hours of care is not flexible for working professionals at all. No late hours are offered at this location. Do yourself a favor and find a more competent practice. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Juliano in Urbana for a number of years. She is a caring, intelligent doctor who strives to help you achieve your best health and wellness. I appreciate her willingness to spend the time it takes, she is respectful, diligent and understanding. She is a doctor who is in touch with her heart and soul, and that makes a wonderful difference. As far as the office goes, rarely, if ever, have I had to wait for more than 10 minutes. And when I call, I am most often greeted with efficient, helpful staff. I've read some of the other reviews here on the Urbana practice, and understand some of the negative ones. What I would like to point out is that, though this office has had some (not many! :-) less than stellar people employed over the years, those people were let go once they were found out. This can happen anywhere, and to me, it is a vote of confidence that the less competent staff didn't retain their positions. read more

I have been going to this location for many years and they have only continued to get better and better. Dr. Juliano is fantastic puts the patient first and so easy to talk openly with on any topic. Dr. Lowery is wonderful with my son and husband very open and caring and puts you at ease. I tend to be a worry wart and they never make you feel like an inconvenience. The front staff is all smiles and very welcoming. I was having a very hectic week and I had to call several times with several requests and they were so responsive and accommodating! Left there today feeling my family is in great hands and I could call them with anything. They really took great care of us! Great feeling! read more

Dr.Ajubon and her office created a most stressful time in my life. When filling out a report to the MVA, she reported I had a defibulator. I do have one and have never had one. Because of her signed mistake to the MVA my driving license was suspended for 6 months. Just try to deal with the MVA to get that off your record! She did nothing to try to correct the matter, but made it worse by refusing to talk to me or meet with me. After ordering and paying for my medical records from Georgia, I carefully read all my history. No where in the medical records was a defibulator ever mentioned or discussed. Do you think she ever apologized? GUESS AGAIN...NEVER. I was punished for her mistake. Character is shown when you are so small you can't at least apologize. I have a very low opinion of her and no respect for her. read more

I have been a patient of Frederick Primary Care Associates here in Urbana for almost 4 years and have only been in the office 3Xs. I've never complained to them about their service nor have I ever been late or cancelled an appointment. Well, last week I went in because I had strep and I admit the throat swab test wasn't the easiest for them because I kept gagging and almost threw up. Nonetheless, the swab was completed and I profusely thanked them for being so patient and told them how embarrassed and sorry I was because I know it wasn't the easiest visit. Well.... this week, I get a letter from them dismissing me from their practice due to "the inability to establish a healthy doctor patient relationship" ?!?!?! -- feeling confused. read more

Receptionists are very rude. I will never again go to Frederick Primary Care Associates in Urbana, Frederick. Front desk service is awful. The staff is aggressive. Happened in the past before COVID times, I had a 103 fever and they kept me in waiting room for 3 hours. Ridiculous place. They just want to get the money from your insurance company with their awful service. Making money is their primary purpose not patient care. read more

Far and away the friendliest staff I've dealt with at a Primary care office. Quickly answered the phone, scheduling was simple, and the staff were all welcoming (Dr included). No one acted like a rude DMV or postal worker we all have to deal with at times. They take labs in house, so no scheduling a second appointment. Prior to the appointment, the online questionnaire had thorough questions, for a complete medical background. Funny, I didn't feel sick going in the office, but I feel better now! read more

We have 6 in our family ages 14-51 going there & love them, especially Dr. Ajeban. Heather is also great. We don't wait long & they have an on site lb that's convenientl. They also have walk I sick hours in the morning & on weekends. Morning lab hours are great for before work & when you have to fast. They are quick to upload to online portal & call with results or to answer questions. Only challenge can be getting in ad soon as you want- they stay busy. read more

Dangerously incompetent!! I was a patient at this practice for over 10 years. I saw two of the doctors and several of physicians assistants and they are all awful. Medical records are incorrect. Prescriptions are written incorrectly with dangerous implications. There is no concept of wellness, no discussion of diet or healthy lifestyles. I raised questions about these issues. Shortly after that I received a letter from the practice dismissing me for failure to establish a healthy relationship. I noticed from a review below that someone else was also dismissed from the practice. This seems to be their way of handling complaints. Stay away from this practice!! read more

Have finally found a great primary physician - Dr. Jason Lowery. He is extremely friendly and professional but at the same time he takes his time with you and insures your questions are answered. I told my wife about him and she is now one of his patients as well. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. read more

Never again , as much as I love and trust the doctors the front desk staff is not driven from a place of excellent customer service or keeping and respecting patients privacy they are rude , dismissive and phone calls are never returned. The staff contradict each other. To the point they put my child's health at risk. The receptionist and office manager seem to believe they know what is best for our families over parents and doctors. They do not care about the health of Urbana families , they care about scrolling on the phone, talking about there plans for time off and blaming patients for anything that goes wrong. A shame because the doctors Ajubourn and Heather Hall a PA are both excellent practitioners . read more

I visited Heather Hall for a prescription refill for a stable, 10 year condition. During the visit we discussed trying a different brand of medication. After the blood test and playing phone tag with her nurse for 2 weeks, I was told my old prescription had been refilled and I would have to make a new appointment to talk about thing something different. Frustrated, I just took the old prescription. When it came time for a refill after 3 months, I was given a month's worth of medication. For a permanent condition, that has been stable for 10 years and without medication will affect my quality of life. AND her office couldn't be bothered to notify me! Instead of paying $30 for 3 months of medication, I had to pay $20 for one month. This PA is not knowledgeable about my condition and made no attempt to educate herself. Routine blood work need only be completed annually. I've wasted money and time and now I'll waste more of the same finding a new doctor. read more

i would give a zero or minus if i can. this practice has very bad customer services, they mess up with my account. they charge me ridiculous account fee. Dr. Juliano ask me imappropriate question and send me to see a cardio for heart disease that i don't have and none of my family member has. cardio checked me completely and didn't find anything wrong. then i got the huge amount of bill of cardio, i asked them why i am seeing a doctor that i don't need. they don't have an answer for me. I asked to see other doctors in that practice and started to see NP she way okay.and then Dr. Juliano was mad and sent me a dismiss letter and with vogue reason. even worse they pretended to make an appointment with me with other doctor. when i show up they show me the dismiss letter and ask me to leave. i asked why they make appointment with me if i am dismissed, it is a waste of my time. they say their system messed my name with somebody else. this practice is a joke! Dr. Juliano, don't mess up the whole medical system with your selfish malpractice!! it is our community practice not your own business. get out of our community! AVOID it!!!! read more
