She has taught at the Southwest School of Art for more than three decades, managed residencies in Southern France, and offered mentorships and private instruction across the US and Europe. In 2016, artist/designer Cara met Jeannette when she visited Comfort, and the two bonded instantly over their artistic sensibilities, shared love of encaustic, and aligned values around the joy and prosperity of spirit that making and sharing art can be. At that time, Cara was Gallery Manager at the Center for Contemporary Arts in Abilene TX, and a practicing artist. It was two girls that were very well behaved. The person there made us feel small and like idiots for "not reading the rules" I mean obviously we don't TRY to take kids everywhere but if the vice president can take his kids to an inauguration and I can take my kid to a 5 star restaurant then why can they not sit and paint??
