We were so excited to come here for the nostalgia but were quite disappointed. It was so incredibly hot in the store that made browsing uncomfortable and unenjoyable. The prices were astronomical such as $65.00 for a Rubik's cube. A lot of their candy boxes were empty. The guy working there had minimal interaction and personality. read more

I came here in search of some candy cigarettes like the kind I used to "smoke" as a child with the puffs of smoke that come from the candy and Big League Chew. Unfortunately, I couldn't find either. I know that today, candy cigarettes are substantially more difficult to find. In fact, many countries, like Brazil, Finland, Norway, the Republic of Ireland, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia have completely banned the sale of candy cigarettes so the knock off of the stars is not because of the lack of the inventory. I did find some candy sticks to help me get my smokin' fix. I also purchased some additional items. The reduction in stars was because of the customer service or lack thereof when I went to make my purchase. The young women at the cash register seemed as if she didn't want to ring up my items or deal with customers (or maybe just me). Either way, the attitude it was off-putting and unprovoked. I doubt I will purchase from this establishment again because of this service. read more

Keep walking. Do not shop here. I went here on my trip to Fredericksburg and FaceTimed my son to show him the toys in the store. The cashier cranked up the music in the store loud enough to where my son couldn't hear me and told me it was rude and obnoxious and she couldn't believe I would FaceTime in the store. The employee's name was Cari. Hope that wasn't the owner, and if not, I hope the owner sees this. No one like Cari should be employed in customer service at a children's souvenir tourists shop. After I posted this, I was contacted by Cari, who did not apologize for her disgusting antics but chastised me for showing my 6 year old son the toy store via FaceTime. Trash. read more

I walked into the store in the female owner came from behind the counter and started watching me as I looked around the store. I could feel this lady looking at me the whole time. I call this photo "Texas treasures." As a Latino, I find it both hilariously ironic and also unnerving that a cap saying "build that wall" is placed less than ten feet from salsa, Spanish labels, etc. BUT, my personal favorite was a sticker that read: "When they come for your guns, give them bullets first." SUPER considerate after the Santa Fe incident just a couple of weeks ago. I can get over political farce. I can even overlook the stickers that say "Get Over It, He Won." But the "build that Wall" chant and other racist iconography made my boyfriend and I immediately turn around and exit the store. This is not okay anymore. Nostalgia my behind. read more

Absolutely blown away with the terrible and RUDE service today. I visited this store today as I have for years and years while visiting Fredericksburg, this used to be one of my favorite stores to visit and was excited to take my child as they have a section that sells children's toys. I saw that the woman in charge of the store was a mother and she had two young children manning the counter, which made me feel that this was a family friendly and mom-friendly store. As I was walking with my toddler and looking at the children's toys I could already feel eyes of the woman in charge of the store watching us. Every move we made, she's follow us. We walked to the opposite side of the store where the ornaments were and my toddler grabbed a plastic ornament quickly and accidentally dropped it. I picked it up and put it back, he grabbed another ornament quickly(toddlers are so so fast) and I grabbed it out of his hand and as I was putting it back I could feel the woman manning the store's eyes glaring at me. She quickly walked where we were, hovering on top of us, and as i was putting the ornament away she continued to glare at me, absolutely demeaning, I couldn't believe my eyes. I was with my 3 year old. This is in front of my baby, customers, her children. I'm blown away. I told her she was so rude and she asked "WHY?!" I couldn't believe she would act like this in front of children? How absolutely shameful. I got my child out of that store as soon as possible as she was screaming at us at the top of her lungs to "get out of her store". DISGUSTING. So very shameful and I hope her children don't ever have to witness such a terrible example again. I will never ever support this business. DO NOT SELL CHILDREN ITEMS IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT CHILDREN SHOPPING AT YOUR STORE. Keep Texas friendly. Do NOT support this store. read more

I feel like When I was little this place was a lot better, but coming here as an adult its definitely not. The people who where working were not nice at all. REALLY? REALLY? Who cares about that flag, its all in context. I loved a TV show with an orange car and that flag on it.....it was cool, still do! but put it by some sheet wearing cross burners.......yea...not so much, but it is still part of history and I can remember playing civil war as a kid with my brother with both flags and both colors. My friends and I came to Fredricksburg for a birthday weekend, and wanted to grab a few things for our family at home. While this store may have some cool things, the staff is extremely rude. My friend was waiting to taste some pepper jelly to take home to her father, and noticed that the two couples before her just dipped their cracker into the cheese and walked away. She did the same thing and told me to try it as well. As she did, this woman came over and forcefully stuck a spoon that was laying on the side of the plate and walked off. My friend stood there appalled and then overheard her telling her coworker "That's what we have spoons for". My friend put back the jelly she was going to purchase and we left. Reading the reviews, I can see why this employee decided to come over and make it a point to do this. Save yourself the trouble and take your business elsewhere. read more

This store has lots of interesting and fun merchandise, especially Texas stuff, unfortunately, I will definitely never step foot inside this store again. The cashiers here are just so rude, it's ridiculous that there would actually be such rude people working in a store that depends on customers spending money. On my trip last weekend, as I browsed through the store, there were about 3 women cashier who just stared me down with frowning faces. When I went to make my purchases, one of the rude women abruptly left the cash register, walked to where I found a soap product, and came back and said the soap that had a price tag of something like $3 actually came with a little brown box and it really costs $15, despite the fact that the soap had its own $3 price tag. The fact that she didn't allow me to purchase the soap was really bizarre to me and I immediately felt like I was being discriminated against and it felt really awful. This woman's bad attitude was completely uncalled-for and so very rude I would urge everybody I know to avoid this store. read more
