1st time coming here after attending multiple events at the Dulles Expo Center. I was actually thrilled to be coming here not only for the special guests but the area it was being hosted in. I felt as if this convention was a lot larger than Dulles's. Nonetheless I had a good time getting to meet a few actors and entertainers. Hope to come back again. read more

We went to huge yard sale / flea market here and it was fantastic! A huge facility with tons of space for all the various vendors! I loved the decorated bottles, I think I bought 4! And there were quilts, baskets, toys, china, furniture, comics, and so much more I could scarcely list all the items herein! I found some old fiesta ware at a decent price! The parking was great too! This convention center is a wonderful Spot to host events!! read more

Let's start with the positives, since there's exactly one: the staff watching the kids were great. Attentive, kind, and clearly doing the best they could in an otherwise miserable environment. Now for the reality. This gym is hot, stinky, and has the air circulation of a sealed Tupperware container. Standing out here feels less like fitness and more like slow-cooking yourself in someone else's body odor. Fans? AC? Fresh air? Apparently all optional. Seating is another joke. About 20 chairs for easily 200 people. If you're here to watch your child, bring a folding chair--or be prepared to stand for hours on end with out a SIMPLE SEAT to rest. Between the heat, the smell, and the complete lack of BASIC comfort, it's honestly shocking this place operates AT ALL.. I wanted to like this place. Instead, I couldn't wait to leave and breathe actual air. And a seat to rest. PEACE OUT convention center, I hope you're more pleasant next time. read more

Nice facility, for a city that would not qualify for a convention tier rating (tier 4? LOL). Ideally located for any Virginia organization to hold meetings or conventions, halfway between Arlington and Richmond. Meeting halls have good acoustics. Exhibit hall has muddy acoustics. Not enough bandwidth for large meetings. Hospitality services not up to task during events. The restrooms ran out of soap, and towels, and were looking pretty ragged by noontime. At my second visit, there were not enough chairs provided for a pre registration event. read more

We had vip tickets for comic con today and the line started at 9:30 to go in at 10:00. They were very efficient at starting on time and started getting everyone inside out of the heat. The setup was very nice inside and there were alot of vendors to look at. This is always fun for the family every year. read more

I have been here multiple times one for the recent thrift convention, for a boat show, and back in the day, I had prom here! It is a big enough expo center for the area. They are even able to split it into different parts so that multiple events can happen here at once. Restrooms need renovation. It was a bit crowded in there, not enough stalls for the number of people present. It would be nice if they had a concession stand as well built into the place. No food so you have to leave and come back. There is plenty of parking. If you are coming from out of town there are hotels only a few feet away, so you could walk from your hotel as well. read more

My unit held the Marine Corps Birthday Ball this year at this venue. They were incredibly accommodating to last minute changes and were super efficient. The staff was absolutely wonderful and very courteous. The venue itself was incredibly beautiful and I have heard nothing but great feedback from the Marines in my unit on this years ball! Thank you so much to all that were involved in making this years ball memorable in the best way possible. read more

We visited here one Sunday afternoon - the National Capital Sportsman Show was being held here. Fairly new and modern building. Good venue for a variety of shows. Lots of hotels and restaurants nearby for those traveling longer distances. read more

We recently had our wedding reception in the Fredericksburg Expo Center Ballroom, and we could not have asked for a better experience! We hosted ~245 guests, and many of them traveled from out of town. The expo center's location next to a group of hotels was perfect for our guests, who only had to walk across the parking lot at the end of the night. A lot of people flew in to DC and then took the train to Fredericksburg, so I think those guests appreciated that the Expo center was a short Lyft/Uber ride from the train station. With so many moving parts to organize for a large wedding, it was a relief that the expo center could take care of everything for us. I thought it worked perfectly well that the expo center does their own catering, and our guests were very satisfied with the meals provided! We worked really closely with Marlene and Courtney in the office to organize everything, and truly they were so accommodating, patient, and totally on top of everything. I read in online reviews that sometimes wedding venues can surprise you with last minute costs, (like charging you to fold napkins, as happened to a friend of mine), but with the expo center all the costs where totally transparent and absolutely nothing was a surprise or problem. Marlene and Courtney are clearly very honest and I'm so thankful for that! We used our own DJ who was able to set up early, and they even allowed us to bring over our decor a few days early to save time the morning of for decorating! At no extra cost they provided us with a lot of extra candle holders, circular mirror centerpieces, and easels for holding our wedding signage, it was all so helpful. Another little detail that was nice was that we had dropped off the wedding favors early and when we arrived morning of to put them out, they had already been arranged on the table for us! Again, just another example of them doing a lot of extra little things that made the day go by easier. The ball bathrooms too are really nice, clean, and tastefully done. All in all, we are so happy we went with the expo center and that Marlene and Courtney helped us plan a big July wedding reception with so many out of town guests! Everyone had a great time, we got a lot of comments from guests that they really enjoyed the spaciousness of the venue, and it was 100% the best choice for us to do a big Fredericksburg wedding. The Fredericksburg expo center is a decent spot for a convention or expo, but only really average. The space kills cell phone reception and doesn't seem to have wifi, so expect to miss messages. The space is pretty large and the parking in front is more than adequate. For the Marine Corps Half Marathon, lines were very short and moved quickly, so it was fairly hassle free. read more

I've attended two craft shows here this season and they have been outstanding. The size of the venue allows for many more crafters than locations like Brooke Point HS or the YMCA, so shoppers will have hours (I spent about 2 1/2 each time) of browsing if they attend for sure. I can't imagine someone being able to get through all of it in less than an hour if they spend even just a little bit of time at each booth. The level of crafters who set up at the Expo center is very impressive. They all are very talented people (no stupid loom bracelets here!). The last show I when to, I was in total awe of some of the work people had done. One of the best crafters made beautiful woodwork pieces that went beyond imagination. I've never see such perfection with inlaid woodwork. Had the prices not equaled the quality I would have been walking about with at least one of his pieces. I'm so glad that Fredericksburg has it's own Expo center. It really has created a lot of entertainment for the community, and allowed for some of the best craft shows I've ever been to to happen. read more

Held a conference here for over 300 people, and I couldn't have asked for better service from the staff. Whatever we asked for, they accommodated us with pleasure. It was so easy doing business with them. We pretty much used the entire facility, and the venue suited our needs very well. Clean bathrooms and the custodial staff kept it that way all day. Plenty of on-site parking, too. My only complaint(s) would be that the only suitable space for a 300+ person banquet is in the expo center, and the acoustics aren't great for a keynote speaker presentation. The food could be better, too but I've had worse at comparable facilities. read more

Here for a bridal show, I guess they have limited chairs. When I asked a guy that works here if he is going to bring out more chairs, he just shook his head no. He is very busy just standing, like the rest of us. read more

I DJ'd here for a friend's Marine Corps Ball and found it a great venue near many amenities. The food catered was delicious!

I give it at least one star and that star goes to all the wait staff. They were attentive and very professional. First of all, we were reserved for the last seating for a brunch. It was too late for the 9:00 and the 11:00 seating. I had read what stations had what items were going to be available. There were many stations to choose from. It seamed to be a very energetic atmosphere. It was all presented well. Of course, a buffet can be overwhelming. I feel I may not have been as hungry as my SO. The toast was not really toast at all. They did present other options and I was grateful I had a good vegetarian meal. If they at least could have given their guests the option to toast the bread, that would have been preferred. Just saying. (in a restaurant given toast without butter is the same let down. You have cold butter on hard toast. ) This experience, however, was more of stale bread with cold butter. I brought my daughter here for the Kids Expo. I have never been here before and was presently surprised at the size of the venue. The parking was a bit of a pain, when we were leaving people were stalking us waiting for our spot. The ticket counter is conveniently placed right inside the door, however that line gets really long and it's hard to navigate into the main room. All in all it was a good experience and I will be back for a craft show soon. read more

My husband and I visited this expo center a few months ago for a gun show and we will be back again for another shortly. The workers there at the front counter were very sweet. They do offer military discount also! One complaint I had was that the parking was minimal. read more

Our parish had roughly 2500 parishioners use this space for Easter Sunday Mass for several years in a row but 2017 was by far the worst. The air conditioning was noisy and ineffective. People were sweating bullets in their suits and ties and fanning themselves with the programs. Everyone looked so uncomfortable. The speaker system and acoustics are always less than ideal but 2017 Easter Mass was essentially inaudible. By far the worst, however, was the staff directing traffic out of the parking lot. It took nearly 30-45 minutes to finally move. When your car finally got to a point where you could see see the young men wearing green vests with orange batons, they were lazily waving traffic along in the direction they were already moving. So, essentially they were worthless. They should have been standing in front of vehicles, stopping some and waving along others, and alternating back and forth. I actually saw an old man who looked like a military general get out of his car and take charge. The young guys in green vests were witnessing what leadership looks like. That guy was awesome. He got everyone out of there in 3 minutes and people were yelling thank you as they drove by. Next year I'll be going somewhere else. read more

I've been here twice for SKG Gun Shows. The first time was fine, the second and most recent was completely nuts. Both times parking was a bit of a pain and people end up out on the street also when the lots filled up. The place itself is a good size, decently staffed but definitely over-crowded. Seemed a bit dated but good enough for a show. The ticket counter is right inside the door, so the line blocks you trying to get in and out. There's a little food stand in the back corner with the typical bland, over-priced stuff you would expect. I think it was mostly the vendors that ate there out of convenience. read more

Nice venue, first time there at a vendor. Good space, nice staff. Access to more bathrooms (directions) would have helped. You get the impression there was only the few on the front end of the building. Several hundred ladies trying to use one bathroom. I knew there had to be more, so i went hunting for some, were way in the banquet part of the building. I hope to come back for some of their other scheduled events. read more

The convention center is perfect for the packet pickup!! Nicely spread out and well organized! Last year the vendors were spread out more than this year. It seemed like they were squished in one little area and they didn't use up the space they could of. It just made it really tight getting to see the vendors booths, we felt to smothered so we left! But I will say we were in and out getting our packets!! read more
