This review is for the wine tasting, and only the wine tasting. I came to Eden Try without really knowing what to expect; they are definitely a wedding destination...but how is the wine? Well, I can happily report the wine is every bit as good as many surrounding wineries. Eden started off as a private home, but it was so lovely it turned itself into a wedding destination - and a winery on top of that. They have 1 acre of grapes, and outsource the rest of their grapes from VA. The tasting room is a small building off to the side (NOT the main home). But as I was walking around, I was beckoned to visit, and a friend & I proceeded with our tasting. Viognier: Soft honey notes; I liked it...and I'm not even a Viognier fan! Vidal: OK Rose: Semi sweet; pretty good. Merlot: Not my favorite but OK. 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon: No that's not a typo - this really is 10 years old. VERY nice. Sangria: Absolutely awesome; the cinnamon notes reminded me of a mulled wine.

I saw tables outside but am not sure if that area is available for dining service since it's winter and covered in snow. There's a few TV monitors so you can stay up with your team or news. Unfortunately, I never got that "friendly" vibe in any of my visits. Had I not been snowed in, I wouldn't have repeated my visits here. But maybe I hit the wrong days or encountered the wrong staff. This week I am in Dulles, VA for work and I am staying at the Doubletree Sterling, VA. I ordered the side small salad and Seared Salmon. The salad side small salad was huge and I had it with ranch dressing. The salamis was moist and flaky with rice pilaf and roasted veggies. Yum, yum! I threw a picture from the breakfast buffet. Sausage, eggs and pancakes. That hit the spot this morning before heading to work. I rated this restaurant Average and will continue to have breakfast in the morning. There is nothing bad to say about this place. It will definitely be a place that I will come back to for work. Rooms are clean and comfy. Although it is dated and well kept I have no complaints.

Servers came around every so often with meats and it felt kinda inconsistent. I was in a corner and felt like I was being forgotten. Half the meat they served were unfortunately overcooked to medium well/well done for some fillets. But when actually at the right temp, the meats were delicious and seasoned well. I enjoyed the shrimp probably the most. The salad bar was fresh and looked good. My biggest gripe I have is the idea that I can't use a birthday promo for 25% off a meal alongside paying with gift cards that I got from a club store. It's literally money and I just cannot grasp why I cannot use it. Overall, I was definitely disappointed with this place as I've had significantly better Brazilian steakhouse experience elsewhere. Service and food was to inconsistent and this price point I expected more. There gift card policy at the end when paying just added more frustrations and it just made me more upset with their business as a whole. They had staples like brisket, which was tender and specials like the smoked wings, which had so much smoky flavor to it. The pork rib pastrami was tasty but a little dry and the sausages were decent. The sides definitely amplified the meal and I really liked how they put a unique twist on the sides. The harissa carrots were really good, and their Napa cabbage slaw made me think of Korean water kimchi, because it was so refreshing. They also had lemon toasted potatoes and Mac and cheese. The meal came with huge pieces of bread, bbq sauce, pickles, and tzatziki sauce. For dessert we tried the bread pudding, which was soft and gooey, and what looked like a s'mores rice crispy, which you can't go wrong with.

Took my brutha here to celebrate his birthday and it's basically an upscale carryout. A couple sets of (8) chairs outside and a few benches inside - all occupied. Plus, it's too chilly to be eating outside...so we took the food to his place up the street. No worries - food will be good, right?? First the good: That hearty smokiness of summertime barbecue wafted from the front door as I walked up, had me totally turned on. Service was excellent from the guy waiting on us. Now, the rest.... + The (full slab) beef ribs were dry, oversalted and tough. + The pound of lamb shank I ordered didn't taste like lamb. I actually thought they had forgotten to give me my order. Their smoking process shouldn't overwhelm the natural earthiness I was expecting - from lamb. + The fried chicken was moist and juicy with a nice crunch. Decently seasoned too. + The garlic potatoes tasted old. + Assorted sauces we good...enough. + Rolls are tasteless. I could've taken my brother to a thousand other places and spent far less than $89, and we were both disappointed with this one. The bag was heavy too so we were falsely encouraged initially. There's parking right next door but we parked in the gas station across the street and walked over. I won't be returning.

They were very disorganized. I had bought tickets to a chocolate and port tasting demonstration demonstration. They could not find the people who had the wristbands or the tickets, it started 25 minutes late After they had us in line with everybody else who was trying to get into the tasting garden. They should have pulled everyone going to the class out separately.. The demo itself was great. The tasting garden was supposed to be from either 12 to 4 or 12 to 3 depending on what schedule you believed but I was there at 1 or 130 and places had already run out of food. There is a whole row that the restaurants didn't even show up. Show organizers need to regulate the type of tasting that goes into the room so there's a good balance of appetizers, sweets and savory. It appeared they had a good number of classes But it was sad very few people came. I would assume Carla Hall and Martha Stewart were much more crowded. I hope it gets better next year
