We've been to the Pottery Ranch many, many times over the years. For yard art and decorative stuff, it's the largest place I know of. The selection is almost overwhelming! Such a cute spot with garden things and other knickknacks, a great selection you can get lost in! Most of the stuff was very reasonably priced. This is located on the further end of Main St, so we drove here first before going back and parking to walk the rest of the shops. The gals that work there are so sweet, helpful but not bothersome at all. Definitely recommend stopping here for a peruse and maybe a purchase! So many neat things! read more

Love this place. I had visited like 10 years ago. Turns out, we moved to TX & are pretty close to the store. Prices are moderate-to-high. Items are excellent selection. Pottery (pots) is (are) overpriced. Put on a hat, sombrero, and get a free pot. Was happy with my pot. Took it home & left it in the bag in the house until I found a location for it. Weeks later, found big scorpion in it. Asked for a food recommendation. I guess I was not clear. We wanted nearby so we could eat before spending 30-60 minutes at the store (You will want to look at EVERYTHING!!!). They send us far away but that was a lack of communication on my part. I purchased a unique TX star. I broke something and the guy said not to worry. He wanted to make sure I was ok. That was classy. I did purchase other items from them & will return for more. That guy could have turned me off or on as a customer & he handled it SOOOOOO WELL. Thank you for that. If you like metal art, there is another store in Bandera you will like to visit. It has reasonable prices. So, if you are looking for a TX sign or anything else, go here. The selection is OUTSTANDING. Prices moderate-to-high. I give them a B+. Close to great but just barely still **** (Prices are high. Staff was not mature--too-eager-to-please with restaurant recommendations (5, which was too many) & sent us miles away. Then, had to drive back). They assumed we were leaving town, but, again, this is mostly my fault. Kudos to the outside guy with top-notch customer service. Bathrooms seemed clean. I guess I should have known this, coming from CA, but ... watch for scorpions. lol. read more

Went up to Fredericksburg to look at some property and stopped at this new business with some extra time. They have a super selection of pottery for both inside and outside. They get the majority of their pottery from Vietnam which according to the lady who helped us is where a lot of the higher quality pottery comes from now. They also have a good selection of the more brightly painted Mexican pottery as well. Huge selection outside in multiple sizes shapes and colors. My wife found a large urn that she had been looking for at an excellent price. They also have a very nice gift shop inside which had a nice selection for another visit as we were pressed for time. They even will give you a free pot with a coupon from their ad no purchase required but you need the ad. It actually was a pretty nice pot and much nicer than expected for free. Plenty of help to get the large piece into my car as well. Great purchase and we will definitely be back to support this local business. read more

It was just o.k. They had some fun pieces. Prices were high on some of the knickknacks. I actually spent a couple hundred, and I would have bought more because I have literally spent zero money shopping for months, but I found the woman running the register to be rather snooty for a knickknack store. I wasn't at Louis Vuitton or Chanel in Paris, but I felt like I was. I tried to chat with her, but she was very unfriendly. She could have sold me more, but she barely wanted to take my money. Also, she wasn't wearing a mask so I wouldn't go back right now. read more

I've never seen a better collection of pottery in one place! If you can't find what you want here, check in with your friends & family, because you may be impossible to please. Prices are EXCELLENT for pottery. Skip all the hardware store & big box store garden centers, as their inventories consist of only plastic pots. Trust me, I went to every one in town. read more

History

Established in 1998.

Established in Fredericksburg in 1998, Pottery Ranch was introduced by quick-thinking entrepreneur Scott Kilpatrick. His father ran a Choo-Choo trolly service in the Hill Country town for several years but eventually closed it down. Scott purchased the building from Dad and set up shop. Pottery was the primary inventory at Pottery Ranch, but Scott had bigger plans. The goods in the store grew to include items from around the world. He wanted to offer one-of-a-kind, interesting items not normally found in big box retailers or department stores. As Pottery Ranch expanded and grew, Scott opened a second store in 2000. People shopping for pottery and other imported goods in the Hill Country could now find the same great experience in Marble Falls.

But, it's basically that (although there wasn't much of it yet, just some flowers to see) and garden decor, pots, gifts, wine, pickled things, plants and LOTS of wildflower seeds to plant at home. The plants, some were decently priced, most were a little pricier. Just depends on which ones. Majority of the ones we wanted were a little better price wise vs going to home depot, at least we think so! We walked around the adventure trail (since it was free) to get some steps in and have the kids burn some of their energy out while roaming around (minus my toddler, she would want to run away and fast haha so I changed my mind on that idea). The trail itself was open, spacious and a great way to get some fresh air. You can be lucky enough to catch some glimpses of some flowers that could be sprouting out even though there's not much! The shops: they had different types of store fronts, one for food/snack/pickled items alongside a small cafe where you can order beer and wine, another for more accessories, clothing and some planting items too! They had standing wine tasting area near the trail walking area if you want to walk around with some wine. Parking: so much parking, so definitely not to worry although I can image it being more difficult when the flowers really bloom in their field.
