Wow! The owner came out and talked to us about the menu and gave us a free appetizer. The food was great. We had a steak and stuffed shrimp. Steak had a better flavor than Cimaroli's. Shrimp and crab cake stuffing had a very balanced flavor with no flavor outstanding. The surprise was the au gratin potatoes. They had a rich cheddar flavor with salty breading on top. My son mentioned he had an excellent fish fry there so we stopped in Saturday night around 5pm to try them out. They were fairly busy but said they could seat us, but we decided to wait and enjoy a cocktail first. Had a good old fashioned and a Manhattan, both with strong pours. I had their seafood au gratin and baked potato and side salad with blue cheese. The salad was fresh and crisp and the blue dressing was excellent; thick and chunky. I enjoyed my seafood and baked potato. My wife had the prime rib stroganoff and thought it was very good. I agreed; lots of tender prime and creamy pasta. Everyone was very pleasant, bartender, server and the head chef/manager stopped by to inquire about our experience. Old school super club, which I like, but could use a little updating of the decor. First time trying this Milton staple. Cute little supper club, lots of menu options. Decided to give the fish fry a try - it was Friday after all. Fish was fantastic, batter wasn't too much, wasn't greasy, fish nice and flakey. Au gratin potatoes were super cheesy. 22 hour slow roasted Prime Rib - Daily. Repeating - 22 hour S L O W roasted PRIME RIB - DAILY. My wife found this place on our way back from skiing on a cold January day in 2025. We try to find nice places near the expressway (I90/I39) on our route back down to Illinois. This is located on the main street in downtown Milton, Wisconsin. It's a building which dates to the late 1800s. The interior is dark, with wall hangings and dividers - the center divider is literally there to support the roof as the span is so wide. We walked in and were seated promptly, and served with a basket of bread and their maple and cinnamon butter spread. My wife ordered their surf & turf special, which was comprised of a 10 ounce Prime Rib cut with three crab-stuffed shrimp, while I had their King Cut 14 ounce Prime Rib and a baked potato. The dinners came with salad, which was a nice spring mix - see the picture. I was going to order the filet, but the 22 hour slow roasted Prime Rib was too good to pass up. Service was solid, the wine list was very good with several good titles and low corkage contrasted with other steak houses. We even got to meet one of the owners, and learn a little about the work he had done. Recent updates included a new ceiling, and renovation of both bathrooms. Honestly, this place has a lot going for it for a short trip off the expressway. Make plans to go to Milton and try out the Prime Rib. read more

First of all, we were seated promptly at around 7:45 without reservations and on a Friday night. Services was top notch. Entrees come with two sides. We had French onion soup, and clam chowder, sizable salad and fries as sides. We had the fish fry, one cod three piece and sampler that had cod, perch and bluegill. Amazing. We've lived in a town adjacent to Milton and we're unaware of Frederick's. Clearly a locals preference but it will definitely be my go to supper club going forward. Menu offers many choices. The filet was cooked well but didn't have a lot of flavor, but I am a filet snob and am often not pleased ( I need to order something different). 1/10 Worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Let me set the scene. Reservations at 5pm for a table of four. Myself and my boyfriend, and another couple. My boyfriend and I arrive promptly at 5pm and are seated. To be courteous, our waiter comes over and my boyfriend informs him that our friends called and are running about 30min behind, completely out of our control. Our waiter tells us that it's a bit concerning that they will be that late because it's a very high volume night at the restaurant. We obviously feel terrible because we both work in customer service and understand that this might cause them some inconvenience. Our waiter, whose name I think is David, was very nice about it and simply informed us of the concern. Minutes later the head chef, comes out of the kitchen and ever to our table. He puts his hands on the back of the chair across from us and begins to reprimand us like we are children saying, "You do understand what a reservation is don't you?", as his face was the shade of a ripe radish. He continues to explain to us how rude and inconveniencing we were even though we were on time, and could not control that our friends were late. We felt so unwelcome I went to the front and ask for our drink order to be cancelled and I was zipping up my coat to leave. The waiter came rushing over to diffuse the situation and we sat back down, as he was about to lose a table. After our friends got there, exactly 30min late, they took our order and told us that they rushed it ahead of the other orders to get us out of there quickly. It was the most unwelcoming experience I've ever had at a restaurant. As for the food, it was fine to say the least. I lost my appetite after being treated like an unwelcomed rodent. I would be surprised if he didn't spit in our food with how angry the head chef reacted. We came from Rockford, Illinois and our friends came from Naperville to try out this restaurant specifically. I wish I would have left and not spent my money here. Never will we return, and I hope the head chef does not come out of the kitchen emotionally driven by anger at anymore guests, to avoid more bad experiences. Smothered chicken portion was plentiful but dry. Emperor cut prime rib was also generous portion but was full of gristle and not tender. High prices do not match the food quality.
