Really cute bar... iconic Irish pub with some modern additions. It appears there is a winter menu and hours vs non winter hours/menu. It's my 1st time here. The menu is more limited in person vs website. But still decent variety. I tried the "Irish float". It's pretty decent for someone who does not really like the taste of alcohol. Or The beer menus is extensive. Location is right in the middle of things, near the river. I ordered the Pub burger. (Double cheese burger) it was ok as it just comes with bread as meat. I was warned by the waitress. But kept it as the burger was meant to be. The menu price for the drink did not match what k was charged. Drink was $7. Receipt charged me $8. Not a big deal. My husband and I came for dinner before a show at the Riverside. We ordered the pretzel appetizer with the Pot Roast and Shepards Pie. Everything tasted good. I really liked the mashed potatoes, very flavorful!! However, I'm pulling from my own inner Gordon Ramsay here- the Shepard Pie should be LAMB not beef and it should have veggies within. If you pay more you can get corn, bacon and cheese added. But where are the peas and carrots? Maybe that's a Wisconsin expectation? It did not taste different than the Pot Roast which came with broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots as well as two large scoops of potatoes. Being downtown the price is reasonable around $25/person with a drink, but portions are small. Luckily I don't eat much in a single setting. Our waiter Alex was good, moderately attentive, and generally took care of our needs. The overall volume was excessive making conversation difficult. Ladies room was clean, cold water for hands is not a favorite but not an unusual way to save a little money I guess. I would come back but only if I'm in downtown Milwaukee. read more

Met some friends for lunch in Saturday at Mo's. I arrived 15 minutes early and they asked if I wanted to wait or be seated right away. I chose to sit and ordered a Blue Moon while I was waiting. The server was very attentive. When my first friend arrived the server came right over to take his drink order. Ten minutes later when our other friend arrived he was quickly back to take her drink order and said he would give us a few minutes to look at the menu and would be back. About 10 minutes later he was back to get our food orders. I ordered a fish fry which included a piece of rye bread, coleslaw, 3 pieced of battered cod, fries and tarter sauce. The fish and fries were hot, crispy and delicious. I was very happy with the service, food and price for what I received. Definitely a place to return to. read more

Kids and hubby ate here on a Friday evening, around 6-ish. Kids had chicken fingers with honey mustard and fries and hubby had a burger. They brought some chicken fingers home for me. They all said their food was not great and it was so loud in the pub, they couldn't talk to each other. The chicken they brought back to me was not good either. So over breaded without a lot of chicken. Service was okay. Nothing memorable. There are so many other great pubs and restaurants in downtown MKE, I don't think we will be running back to Mo's. read more

Excellent fish fry happy wauwatosa, Bluemound Road location in Wauwatosa. Great option for $1 more are the sweet potato fries (waffle ones better than straight ones) w/slightly spicy jalapeno aioli for dipping. Went there on a night before a show at the Riverside. Guy who sat us was drenched head to toe in sweat. Waitress was not very friendly. Table was sticky. Menu is lacking. Ordered boneless wings and a pretzel. Wings are a joke! Came out looking like fried turds the size of quarters. Sad. Giant pretzel arrived completely wrinkled. Looked like a sorry sack. Cheese sauce had very gross curdled texture. Waitress felt the need to touch our appetizer plates with her fingers and nails. One plate had some nice dirty smutz on it. Gross! We had to ask multiple times for things. We had ordered drinks and apps and meals all at once...and it was a good 40 minutes before we got our food - meals along with the app at the same time. Went here tonight, and was very disappointed. The place was nearly empty which should have been my first warning. The appetizer pretzel was extremely oily and was similar to a food truck pretzel in texture (totally soft). We both ordered salads (I know not what we should've ordered at an Irish place) and they were very dry. The chicken on the salad was too dry to chew. When there are only 7 dinner entrees in the menu, there is no excuse for a bad meal. The bill had an up-charge of $3.00 each salad for chicken. There was no indication on the menu that the chicken would be an up charge. Will not be returning. Now I understand why I hear so many advertisements for Mo's. I wouldn't never recommend this place. I have eaten here three nights in a row and Mo's is a solid 3.5 to 4 stars. The staff is 5 stars; friendly and welcoming. The place is a bit loud but, it is a pub. The food is about a 3 to 3.5. the Shepard's Pie was a bit salty. The Jamison's Glazed chicken was wonderful. The chicken sandwich was good but nothing special. Portions are a bit small but the price is very affordable so, that makes up for the size. I need to go back and try the burgers. Good assortment of beer to try too. Mo's is a downtown staple serving a great Irish pub atmosphere and solid food (when it's available). I was debating between 3 and 4 stars and ultimately rounded down because the last few years have taken their toll on the food options and service consistency. Ever since COVID, the kitchen has been struggling and the food menu has been greatly reduced in comparison to their sister location in Wauwatosa. Additionally, the hours seem to be somewhat inconsistent at times. With that said, it is still a great spot to get a sandwich and a beer before a game, show, concert. Be sure to try out their signature grilled cheese and tomato soup along with the cheeseburger shalaylees if they have them. I so hope the kitchen gets back to where it was and this is an easy 4 star spot! read more

Given this establishment is just across from a venue, it's highly likely to be busy given events are scheduled or even just during prime times in general...understood. Got seated and was immediately asked what we'd like for drinks, mind you, we just sat and had not even taken a peek at the drink menu. Within minutes, another waiter came by to ask the same, minutes after that, the first waiter came to ask the same again. We placed a drink order which took 20 minutes to receive resulting in us ordering a second round on the spot to ensure we'd get them within "decent" timing. Food was hit or miss. The Cheese Curds had good flavor but seemed as though cheese oozed out during frying. The Reuben was meh, kinda sloppily thrown together and could have had more meat. The Tomato Soup was very thick and salty, more like marinara. The Shepherds Pie looked very disappointing. It was presented nicely being served in a cauldron however it had the texture of a beef soup with an ice-cream scoop of mashed potatoes on top. An effort to make this gravy thick, smash down the potatoes, bake and brown, and then throw on some parsley would have made the dish more appealing. The Triple Grilled Cheese also looked pretty sad for as great as it sounded on the menu. The Double Cheeseburger and Fish & Chips seemed to be the winners overall, even with poor looking pieces of frozen battered cod. Overall, not impressed with the service nor menu. Ok fist of all the food here is awesome. Best cheese curds. I had a no burger and it was badass. But if you like to drink drinking here sucks. It takes forever to get a beer and it's not even due to the crowds. When we left there was like 4 people at the bar with just as many bartenders. As a drinker I like my beers to come in rapid successions. I don't think this place is capable of that. The jams are also just on one side of the bar so unless you sit on the side of the jams you going to have to talk to people and that sucks. read more

Stopped in before a show at the riverside and it was pretty busy. We waited a few minutes for a table but we're seated quickly. We came 2 hours before the show so we'd have plenty of time to eat. We were seated and placed our order. Felt terrible for our server who was working the entire back room, with no help. We placed our order (off a limited menu as they were not serving their full menu, which was a bummer because I was looking forward to the jalepeno grilled cheese but I digress). We ordered a regular grilled cheese, spinach dip, and a burger. The food took an hour to make it to our table which basically gave us like 10 minutes to eat. Once we got the food it was terrible. The soup was cold, the spinach dip was gross and not flavorful, my friends burger had plastic on the bottom, and the grilled cheese was ok but nothing to write home about. Overall I was not impressed. They were severely underprepared for a Saturday evening before a packer show. The kitchen was crazy backed up but they kept seating people, and many tables were leaving. Our waitress was kind and apologetic but I wish they would've honestly let us know how long the kitchen would take because we would've gone elsewhere. Literally potbelly's or subway across the street would've been better and $30 cheaper. It sucks because I've been to other mos locations and the food has been pretty good. read more

Moe's is one of the closest restaurants to our office, so we tend to go here for lunch when there's an occasion or people are in town. It's a solid choice, but nothing super exciting. The food is consistently good for the most part, and the service is always very pleasant. I have only been here over lunch, so I don't know how consistent the service is when things are busy. Moe's offers typical pub food, some of it with an Irish twist. I have tried the Chicken Caesar Wrap (good), the Reuben (good but greasy and a little tough on the corned beef), the Cheese Curds (delicious) and the Jameson Burger (a little disappointing but okay - kind of on the bland side, wilted lettuce (probably shouldn't be put under a greasy burger), the "Jameson Glaze" was more like an odd jam and was basically a spoonful in the middle, and the crispy onion strings were nonexistent, which was disappointing. Even the pickle was unappetizing...it wasn't very pickle-y ). The sweet potato fries are consistently delicious, so I always order those as my side. My coworkers and I split an order of Garlic Cheese Fries once, and they were pretty good as well. I will probably try the Jalapeno Grilled Cheese next time, as people seem to love it. Moe's has a Summerfest shuttle and I believe a Brewer's shuttle, so that is always a plus. I have only been there for work lunches, so I have no experience with their drinks, but the beer list looks solid. Moe's is a good place for a quick (around an hour) lunch if you work downtown and has been good for groups. read more

I love Irish pubs and it breaks my heart that my Shepard pie was nothing more than a stew with a scoop of mash potatoes slopped on top. The potatoes should be spread and then baked. This was soup with an industrial kitchen scoop of mash potatoes plopped on the top. It was actually so close to perfection that they still get a 3. The beef tips were delicious, but this is not Shepards pie. read more

It's Mo's. It's a Irish pub and it is also a Milwaukee staple. This place isn't meant to do anything excellent or out of this world but they do just about everything well enough to keep my business. I have been going here for over 10yrs, mostly for Friday fish fry or before shows across the street, the biggest thing I would change is the limited menu on show nights. I get it, it makes the kitchens life easier and speeds up food service but the show menu is VERY limited and skips some of their best food. Cheers! read more
