if I were you I wouldn't get anything from this place. I bought a washer and dryer set a year and a half ago and the dryer has given out and I guess having a 5 year warrenty is better then nothing but let me tell ya how shity their service department is. So to make an appointment to be serviced it takes three weeks the guy comes out realizes the whole drum has to be replaced ( the brand is GE) so that means they gotta order it and that takes a good month before hearing it is finally in but then you gotta make an appt which is another 3 weeks out. now the day comes and literally an hour or two before they should get here someone calls to tell me the service guy (which must only be one guy) has a family emergency and won't make it so then she says the soonest they can come is in three and a half weeks which irritated me so they are seriously gonna make me wait another three weeks. so it's actually 3 1/2 since it had to be on a day I could be there. now it's the second appt to fix my dryer and at this point we are at least 3 or more months out of a dryer and 2 hours before they are to show I'm texted not called to tell me they won't be out to service my dryer cause the drum is damaged and they have to reorder it. man was I pissed. so that part has been sitting there for a month and a half damaged and the day it's to be installed is the first time you guys checked it out to make sure it was the correct thing like it's been sitting there for so long and nobody checked the delivery to make sure it was legit just on the day of my service day huh? well I responded and no one has replied to me about this or if I have to reschedule and wait another 3 weeks after it gets delivered like I'm floored at how unorganized, unprofessional, and shity customer service that this company has like I will NEVER buy an expensive purchase and get shity quality and shity service from this place ever again if I could return the set I would but I can't so I'm stuck playing there games that they think is fair to customers who choose to buy from them. don't waste your time they don't care about any of us they only see money signs read more

Had a factory defective product and the manufacturer wanted to cut a check for the purchase price, but a year later the replacement went up significantly and he stepped up to make sure I got a replacement delivered and added one year warranty Without me opening up my wallet. Not your ordinary commissioned salesman. He also arranged to deliver and pick up my wrapped refrigerator doors along with making sure the wrap company could color match the other appliances. We bought all of our kitchen appliances here for a new build. Our dishwasher ended up causing us some problems, but Tom was very responsive to our concerns, sent technicians to our home, and eventually exchanged the malfunctioning unit for a new one. Steve was also very helpful in helping us decide if we should continue with the same make and model of dishwasher, or continue with the brand we had originally ordered. Bought a new washer and dryer. I have bought thousands of dollars of appliances from this place. I will never walk in that store again. I called for service. My dryer is not drying. They told me it would be three weeks on the day of my appointment. Nobody called finally I called them, they called me back late in the afternoon after I changed my whole day and waited and told me they couldn't make it out and they would rebook. They called a day later and told me it would be three more weeks. I was not happy. I told him I wasn't happy then the manager called! Now there's somebody that needs to get a new job. He blamed all of their problems on Mike White Ford for not getting their truck repaired in time and it shut down their whole business! Told me he was tired of getting yelled at from people. It wasn't his fault. I suggested he get a new job. I suggest no one purchases any appliances or anything from Fred's appliance in Coeur d'Alene or Spokane for all that matters that's where their service department is out of and it's a complete joke. The lady told me they serve Coeur d'Alene Spokane all the way to Montana Save yourself the grief he then suggested I called the manufacturer. He told me they would give me better service.! So on 9/2 they called and said repairman out sick so earliest they could come was 9/23. Spent $500 for service contract. Two months without ice or water in anew machine redeculess!! Told us they would send someone out and scheduled us for 6 months out!! We had to fix it ourselves and have replaced the dryer belt 5 times now because it keeps breaking. We called Fred's Appliance three months ago because our fridge stopped dispensing water and making ice. A technician came out and said he needed to order parts. We called regularly to see if the parts were in and were told there was a shortage and they were on back order. They finally scheduled a technician to come out, only to tell us a few days later that not all of the parts had been ordered (three months later). We fired them and called Pillar Heating & Air who came out within a few days and diagnosed and fixed the problem the same day. Don't use Fred's! Call Pillar for all of your heating, air conditioning, and appliance needs. read more

We have enjoyed the products we have purchased from Fred's, however the warranty and service has been poor. Initial appointment was 2 weeks out to fix my washer, they came out looked at it and said it needs a new part which would take 2 weeks to arrive and they would call to set up a time when the part came in. I had to call and find out the part had arrived and they put me on the schedule, again 2 weeks out. This morning after my wife took time off of work to be home they called and said they ordered the wrong part and would have to wait 2 weeks for the right one to come in. I told the customer service rep this wasn't going to work for me and I need a better solution and requested to speak to a supervisor. I was told the supervisor would give me a call shortly and here I am at the end of the day left with frustration. I'm sure that someone will reply to this to save face for the company but I highly doubt they will do anything to resolve the grievance. Save your money and don't buy the warranty or go else where, not worth the headache or cost incurred from lack of service. read more

I've never written a review before on Yelp. My experience with Fred's thus far has driven me to do so. First of all - you will have a great experience buying from Fred's. Their salespeople are helpful and delivery should be nice and quick. It was in our case. Once you invariably have do deal with their service department: prepare for a decent into the abyss. We bought an oven from them that broke after only a couple uses. We called them they sent out a tech about a month later. The tech was pleasant but unable to repair the oven, he didn't have the correct parts with him. They then scheduled a second call about a month and a half later with the parts the supposedly needed. They replaced them all, but the oven was not fixed. We've now had our third repair call scheduled. It is July 1st right now - and the earliest they could schedule our appointment was for mid August. Who knows if they will be able to repair it. In the meantime we'll have been out of an oven for almost half a year. Their phone people seem deftly trained to schedule you for service months later with the efficiency and care of a Soviet bureaucrat. You're surprised - you thought you wouldn't have to wait months for your oven to be fixed? Well we're busy - get in line peasant! Fred should obviously stop selling service warranties if they cannot handle their current service volume, but I won't hold my breath. You'll likely have a more satisfying experience buying an oven off craigslist from the back of a pickup truck. At least then you'll know what to expect. In all fairness: I was stupid. I didn't read the copious Yelp reviews warning me against this exact problem. Hopefully this saves at least one person from making my mistake. read more

We just finished building a new house. We used Fred's Appliance and bought nice appliances - mostly Thermador. On day 3 after we moved in, an Ice maker stopped working. We called Fred's multiple times. It took 3 days to get a call back. This was the first week of June. They said they could not get anyone out until the end of August - 8 weeks later. We tried calling again, hoping to talk to a manager. After multiple calls, we were assured that a manager would call us back within 1 day. After 2 weeks, no call. Fred's Appliance service is terrible. It is an embarrassment. read more

Well. My love affair with Fred's Appliance is over. I'm a diehard believer in buying local and Fred's has been our go-to for appliances. One of our latest purchases was a LQ washer/dryer combo, the one that holds detergent and softener so you don't have to measure and pour each time you throw in a load. Heaven. Until it stopped dispensing softener shortly after receiving it. Called Fred's for service confident they'd fix her for me. Two months later a technician came out and immediately knew what the problem was. He assured me he would get the part ordered. After waiting for literally months a repair technician came out and replaced the laundry detergent side. Yeah...‍ Another appointment was made for Fred's to come out to replace the correct part. We are now at 8+months, 3 service calls (3 days taken off of work so WE can be available for the repairman to NOT repair our washer) wrong parts ordered, no repairs have been made. WE ARE NOW AT 8 MONTHS!!! Calling service has been an absolute joke. You literally cannot get a straight answer from that department. We are now waiting for service to call us to schedule a 4th appointment for us to take off work so they can maybe fix our washer. 4th time is a charm, right? So here we are...just waiting...because service can't give us any information as to when/what parts is/are being ordered, how long it will take to receive the parts, when they'll be able to come back out (more months?) and if they can actually fix our washer. The lack of customer care Fred's gives their customers is appalling to someone who has worked in customer service their entire working life. read more

The ordered part was delivered the following week & in stalled in garage but could not test until Fred's Appliance J&J service Teck teams transferred back to wash room 2 days later. Terrible I've bought all my appliances and this is the worst. A year and a half ago bought a whirlpool refrigerator and it recently died. I lost all my food I called Fred's and they tell me it's over a year we say on the Manuel it says two-five year ware. They tell me they can send someone out in a month. What the heck you can't be without a refrigerator for a month. Horrible service and will never buy from them again. They have done me wrong. Our refrigerator stopped working during the night, I called Fred's in the morning to see about getting a repair person out to see if it was repairable. I was told that the person that handles my area stepped out for a few minutes and that I would get a call back in a little bit (that was two days ago) and I am still waiting on the call. I was sent an email from the person that I spoke with over the phone and sent numerous emails back asking about getting an appointment and still no answer there yet either. I feel as though they are ghosting me. I ended up calling another repair guy out who took care of my issue. I have spent a lot of money at Fred's for different appliances, I can guarantee I will shop else where from here on out. read more

So what's going on at Fred's that's causing their employees to intentionally avoid accountability from the get go? This isn't good. Disappointing as I'm a local repeat customer and I've been in the store before and purchased other appliances which went very well. I attempted to return and continue to shop local but unfortunately they have become uninterested in providing personal service to the point that they don't even want you to know who you're talking to. The employees don't want the responsibility. My recommendation is to never call at 9am on a slow rainy Wednesday mid-May because a female may answer the phone after you've already selected "sales" and just say "Fred's Appliance" and when you say in a confused voice that you're looking for sales, she just replies "this is sales". Well nice to know you don't really want to be in small business customer SERVICE! I can get an aloof greeting at a big box store. Are you going to help me or are you just answering the phone? We bought a Thermidor dishwasher last October. On May 27, it quit draining and gave us an error message. We called the service department and were told it would be more than 75 days before a repair person would be available. I asked to have a the service manager call me. That was 10 days ago. I'm still waiting. It is still under manufacturer warranty but we also bought an extended warranty. I don't know how a company stays in business with this type of follow up service. Actually it should be called non-service. Our neighbors were getting ready to drive to the store today and we shared our experience with them. They are now shopping elsewhere I recommend you do as well... or get it in writing service calls would take no more than 5 days. I'm not sure even that would help. read more

Just had a Maytag microwave serviced. This was the second call out of $120.00. The first time they looked at it and said they would come back in about 6 weeks with the part for another service call. Well today the put in a part that had gone bad but under warranty. They argued that it was not covered but I showed the technician by using the warranty book that it was covered. Well then he changed the service call to be $122.00 plus he charged an extra fee for his time, plus and extra fee for opening the microwave to replace the part. He called it a removal fee. Well, he tacked on these charges probably because he found out his company was not getting any money from me for the warranty part. Well i just felt this was totally dishonest. Willing to adjust the rating if they replace the defective products, but the customer service is poor. Will update accordingly. 6/25/18 Update: Finally got a call from Tom at the Coeur d' Alene store. Once he stepped in, we received the customer service we expected. We received a brand new refrigerator and microwave. Tom communicated with me until the issue was resolved. For that, I will change my rating to a 4 because we received the products (and customer service) we expected in the first place. My strong suggestion is they retrain their Service Department on proper phone etiquette, communication, and TIMELY follow-up with their customers. read more

Service repair appointments are always at least a month out if you are lucky! Hope they don't need to order parts... Or they order the wrong parts... tack several weeks onto another repair date! We experienced a couple of trips necessary to repair stuff. Fred's Appliance changed up their service department and they are even more unreliable if this were possible ... WE HAVE WAITED WELL OVER 2 months to have our built in Thermidor Refrigerator repaired! One visit, 2 past cancellations/reschedule made! Scheduled #3 appointment today and SURPRISE...RECEIVED ANOTHER CANCELLATION CALL. Cancellation made several hours AFTER SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT TIME! I'll never purchase ANYTHING from Fred's Appliance again! The extended warrantIes are super expensive and good luck getting your appliances repaired! FYI discounts/store sales are NOT available on high end built ins (Thermidor, Sub Zero, Wolfe, Asko, Viking etc) All stores must sell for same price...Price set by manufacturer! Better to buy online directly with manufacturers and purchase your extended warranty the same way! We have out of state guests arriving on the 06/30 and I'll have NO FRICKING REFRIGERATOR!!
