I really like the fact this is the closest restaurant to my lake house. I pinch myself with joy…read moreevery time I drive by! Yay and ooo, what is going on today?! Good chance of live music or some event, for sure!*checks facebook for schedule* There is an entire menu that always looks good, but I have to admit I have only tried 3-4 items that I return to repeatedly every visit, since they are so fantastically done. Solid 10/10 must have is the Dock Onion, the overized whole giant onion with well done onion petals, with the perfect house dipping sauce. The Dock cheeseburger is always exactly how I order it, substantial but still leaves room for apps and dessert. Sitting outside is nice, but can get a bit wet on the rainest of days. Always had terrific servers with numerous refills on the tea. Keep up the good work!

We'll have to say I'm not impressed with this place. They had a sign up to seat yourself. But then…read morehad no one there paying any attention to those walking in the door. Tried ti get a few servers attention but they just ignored us. So we walked out. If you KNOW you don't have any seating available post a sign on the door that your full. As for the ambiance it needs work. We had issues walking through the restaurant trying to even see if there were any seating. It's a very small space and needs reworked so you have space to walk. And servers need to pay attention to people walking in the door.

This pleasant casual pub is in the clubhouse at the Spring Lake Golf Resort and open to the public!…read more Atmosphere- It's a bright and quite large space with lots of golf kitsch on the walls which is no surprise. There is a bar that seats about a dozen. Pro Tip- If you park as directed by the signs you will be confronted by a formidable set of stairs. If that is a challenge for anyone in your party, swing around to the left of the clubhouse and you'll spot a small parking lot which much easier access. Adult Libations- Full bar. I spotted about ten taps with several popular craft brews and there are a few wines. Customer Service- My excellent bartender/server claimed to have worked there for 14 years. If that's true, they hired her at about age 6 or 7! When I told her that she said she loved me! Food- One-page American pub style menu. You've seen it all before. Fried food, sandwiches, burgers and salads. The lunch special was a pulled pork sandwich topped with slaw with fries & baked beans as sides for about $8 so I went with it. As you can see from my picture it was nicely plated. The bun was buttered and toasted very nicely. The fries were crispy and hot, and the baked beans had bits of pork and onion and were very tasty. Now for the sandwich. As soon as I picked it up, I knew I was in trouble. There was a massive amount of tasty pulled pork and I thought there was no way the bun could handle it. I was right and after eating about 1/3 I finished the remainder with a fork. Note to Chef- If you switch to a toasted Kaiser roll that can handle the load, you've got yourself a 5-star sandwich! Despite the misstep with the incredibly messy sandwich, all the food was very good, and I had a nice time. This Golf Resort is off the beaten path but if you are out that way it's a solid choice for a casual lunch or dinner.

It's a little off the beaten path for me and I'm a lazy ass so it took me until this weekend to get there! Arriving- It's in the clubhouse of the North Golf Course in the Highland's Ridge Community. Follow the signs for that clubhouse or let your GPS do the work. If you are familiar with the area, it was formally The Tavern. Ambience- So this is what a lot of folks would call a Country Club restaurant. As I had patronized the old tenants, I was curious how they were going to transform it into an Irish Pub. The answer is they didn't! It looks nothing like and Irish Pub. It's a large space with lots of natural light and traditional furniture. It has lots of outside seating that's covered with ceiling fans and many seats have a nice view! There is a very small bar that seats about six. In short, it looks like a Country Club restaurant. So much for pub ambience! Customer Service- Awesome, maybe seven stars! I had substantial interactions with the manager, bartender, and a server. All were exceptional. Adult Libations- Definitely not a pub style bar. It's a full bar with just a few taps but nothing special. Food- Like the ambience, it's an American menu with a couple of Irish dishes. There's Bangers & Mash and Shepard's Pie. Other than that, they throw in a couple of Irish terms to deceive you but it's really an American menu. There're enough choices to satisfy most folks. See their website. I ordered Irish Brisket Flatbread- Brisket, bacon, caramelized onions, diced tomatoes, BBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese @ $13. It was out in good time and plated very nicely. Plenty of food for the price so good value. The flatbread was nicely crisp. I love caramelized onions and that's the base here. Everything was very fresh. Plenty of brisket. Unfortunately, the onions overpowered the other ingredients, so the flavors were not balanced. It was tasty but needed a little work to be a winner. Conclusion- If you're looking for an Irish Pub, you're in the wrong place. If you're looking for an American menu that has some potential with a great staff and beautiful outside seating, give it a try. As they are new and the staff is awesome combined with the outside seating, I'm going to be a little charitable and say four stars!
