    Chicken piccata

I was skeptical of this place driving in because it was in some kind of country club. However it was actually fantastic and open to anyone. Service was great, food was great, prices were reasonable. I had the chicken piccata with pasta which was very good. My girlfriend had the grilled shrimp with the potatoes au gratin which were delicious and we also had cheese curds. Overall great place, especially considering there are not that many places around here. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.

The wrapped bacon bites were the star of the show for me. I wanted to try an array of things so I got the sampler and was happy with that. Chicanes Promises Upscale Dining but Delivers an Uneven Experience…read more Chicanes carries itself like an upscale dining room, which is why the night's missteps stood out more than they should have. The evening began on a sour note, and not because of anything on the plate. A heavy downpour had turned the entrance into a shallow lake with slick footing, the kind that makes every step feel unsure. My husband took a hard fall, wrenching his back and bruising his hip. Another guest later mentioned the same slick approach, which tells me this is more than bad luck. For a restaurant that draws an older crowd, safety at the door should not be an afterthought. Inside, the welcome was much warmer. The staff was friendly and our server Ethan handled the holiday rush with calm attention. He stayed present without hovering and made sure we had what we needed. If only the kitchen had matched his level of care. The Thanksgiving menu looked promising, but the execution never quite reached the level the price tag promised. The lobster arrived overcooked and clinging stubbornly to its shell. The sauce meant to lift it fell flat. The butternut squash bisque was pleasant enough, though short on depth. The apple walnut salad was a clear winner. Crisp, balanced, and bright. It deserves a permanent spot on the menu. The entrées continued the theme of missed opportunities. The vegetables needed seasoning, especially the Brussels sprouts, which tasted like they had skipped the last step before leaving the kitchen. The potatoes au gratin stole the show, rich and comforting, which only highlighted how muted everything else tasted. For a meal tipping the scale at around $140, the food should meet the standard the setting implies. Chicanes has the bones of a great restaurant. The staff is strong, the room is inviting, and the menu choices read well. But the flavors need more care, more confidence, and more seasoning. A place aiming for an upscale experience has to deliver more than ambiance. There is potential here, but potential is not enough at this price. With steadier footing at the entrance and sharper execution in the kitchen, Chicanes could be worth the splurge. Tonight, it wasn't.

The candied apple burger, and Parmesan truffle fries both served with a unique garlic aioli were incredible! She pairs her queso with freshly cooked flour chips that melt in your mouth! Finally we tried Pizza Odyssey for an amazing pizza! Great amount of cheese on the Alfredo we tried! They were out of bacon that normally comes on it so we substituted for pepperoni. Chicken was soft and seasoned well! This place has a cool vibe, mid level music which still allows for a cozy conversation, there is also a bar so you can get some great spirits if you like! All the people we interacted with were very nice and the service was prompt!

It felt & looked like a ghost town and the food we purchased from the Asian / Thai place was not that good especially for the price. When we got the text our food was ready , we asked for napkins, and the girl told us they were available around the corner towards the bar... really? For the price we paid you couldn't give us napkins that were sitting there? We were only allowed the ones that came in the utensil wrap when a pile of extra napkins were just sitting there next to it after we spent over $35 dollars is not good customer service. The crab Rangoon tasted like it was purchased from the Costco freezer section when you want a fast hors d'oeuvre to have for an at home party. It was dry and tasted old. Actually Costco's tasted better. The Pork Bao bun not good the pork is supposed to be a little crisper, and mine was soft and barely cooked. I only ate one bite. Also ordered the dumplings. They were just decent. We also ordered a smashed burger from Fat Maggie's and asked for the works only to have received the text our burger was ready. We go up to get it and it's just the burger sitting there. I had to ask the girl to get us the works we asked for. Not sure why it wasn't all ready for us when it was a simple one burger order and they were not busy. The burger was good but with a smash burger, it's hard to get that juicy medium burger enjoyment as the burger was crispy on the outside. No fault of Maggie's that's just the trend it was still good and it was nice someone walked around asking everyone if they liked their burger. You deserve more than to be crammed at the end of the kitchens and should move to the middle into the larger space as it gave the illusion that you were not as famous as you are and that you're a tiny business when you're not. Kudos on your great tasting burger though. Now to the building, i feel bad the joinery has the lake to walk around and a great outside area for IG influencer pics back drops where you can relax and sit back with style I did not see that here at this location and since there is no lake to look at you truly need more outdoor aesthetics like a "lawn" area with outdoor games for people to hang out at or more of an amateur works greenery outdoor vibe or host, Pilates and yoga classes to draw more ppl in. It needs something. Sorry this was long it just had to be said imo anyway and my girlfriends.
