You should hope your future car inspections are as detailed as mine. I have 80 or so pictures of the car, immediate and secondary concerns, photos of the fluids, the full underside of the car, and the technician's screen as they ran the computer interface. This information was crucial in my purchasing decision and the cost was well worth it. I didn't buy a guy talking to me about the car for five minutes - although I did talk to them and they were great. I bought an eleven page report with tons of pictures that's formatted almost exactly like a home inspection report. If you're going to spend more than 10k on a car and you want to make sure you're making the right decision, this type of service is well worth it. Scott's is one of the shops that's excelling at it, clearly, and in my opinion they'd be the best choice in the area if a buyer needed a pre-purchase inspection.

We have an older car, at about 180,000 miles, that we keep but only use once and awhile. At that milage it's had its issues.
