Really outstanding experience here today. I was purchasing a used car and needed a pre-purchase inspection near where the car was located and called Scott's to set an appointment. You should hope your future car inspections are as detailed as mine. I have 80 or so pictures of the car, immediate and secondary concerns, photos of the fluids, the full underside of the car, and the technician's screen as they ran the computer interface. This information was crucial in my purchasing decision and the cost was well worth it. I didn't buy a guy talking to me about the car for five minutes - although I did talk to them and they were great. I bought an eleven page report with tons of pictures that's formatted almost exactly like a home inspection report. If you're going to spend more than 10k on a car and you want to make sure you're making the right decision, this type of service is well worth it. Scott's is one of the shops that's excelling at it, clearly, and in my opinion they'd be the best choice in the area if a buyer needed a pre-purchase inspection. read more

They're either completely incompetent, or they tried to rip us off. Scotts estimate for the AC work was over $1,800. Got 2nd opinion, AC was repaired for $89 more than what was paid for just their estimate. Upselling ripoffs wanted $1,000 additional, for mostly unessacery work read more

Bob B. I recently needed to have my 1995 Ford Ranger towed in due to a failed water pump. Once they were able to get to it (a busy place) they promptly replaced the pump. It works great. This is not the first time I have used Scott's. They have always done good work. Their mechanics are top notch. They care and take care of you. Yes, I'm reviewing a service station. I have plenty of restaurant and other ratings on my backlog, but I'm going with the service station. Let me start by saying I'm not a fan of Oregon gas stations. According to Oregon law, you can't pump your own gas. You need to wait for the attendant to show up, hand them your credit card, tell them what you want, and then they pump the gas. In many cases, I could be just about done pumping my own gas (if that were legal) at about the time they are just getting started. Most of these folks are reasonably pleasant, but it's pretty clear that they're not working for tips. They seem to operate as a required extension of the pump machinery; which, in the final analysis, is what they are. Years ago, I owned a '56 Chevy. It gave me great pleasure to drive into Oregon gas stations and say , "Fill 'er up" because I knew that none of the Oregon gas station attendants would know how to do that. A few would start by bending the license plate down, but eventually they'd all have to ask how to do it. (There's a 'secret' latch in the driver's-side tail light assembly that lets the whole thing swing open.) The '56 is long gone, but I miss it. With that bit of preface in place, let me say that this place is great! It is an actual Service Station rather than a gas station. The two guys at the pumps were great. They were a pleasure to do business with. One asked me if it was OK to wash my windshield, and got right after it when I said yes. Both of them acted like customer service really mattered to them, rather than acting like they were doing the stuff they needed to do in order to collect a paycheck. They checked to see if I needed anything else before I left and they got me back on the road in a hurry. In a couple months time living in McMinnville, Scott's Shell also seems to have the lowest, or one of the lowest gas prices in town. Great service for the best price seems to be a pretty good idea. read more

Had my solara inspected here. They did a great job at finding needed repairs and troubleshooting what was wrong. Biggest problem I had noticed was rough idling and they were able to determine that it had to do with my motor mounts. Very grateful for their inspection and will definitely come back for inspections in the future. Highly recommend! read more

My husband went through the car wash last week and it broke his car mirror on the driver side. Rick got out and went and told them what had happened. The manager on said I'm sorry here is our insurance information. We contacted the insurance company and someone came out to look at it. Cost $350.00 then two days later they called and said they had a sign posted that said damages to you car is your responsibility. So I'm here to let you know not to use there car wash. The manager was nice he knew that Rick's mirror was broke by them but his hand's are tied. What happened to being honest and doing the right thing. read more

My grandson and I (grandma) drove from Tacoma, WA to McMinnville, Oregon to look at a car he was interested in buying. We called Scott's Automotive about 4 hours before we would have the car and asked them if they could check it out for us. They said sure and bring it in at 2:30. We took it in and they said it would be about 1 hour we noticed they were pretty busy. We received the car in 1 hour with paperwork that helped us decide if he wanted to buy it. My grandson is 17 and this is his first car he is buying. Scott's treated us like we were regular customers and I would highly recommend them!! read more

If you're looking for an automotive shop do yourself a favor and DO NOT go here. This place is very unprofessional and dishonorable. I made an appointment back in early December 2021 for my H1 Hummer Limousine (which was CLEARLY stated). My appointment wasn't scheduled until Mid January, the 17th of 2022. Keep in mind when I made the appointment in person I was specifically clear on the Year, Make, and Model as well as the fact that it was a limousine. After waiting for more than a month, on January 17th 2022 I had a tow truck ready to take my Limo to the shop but once I got there, I was told by an unmannerly Scott and his employees that they allegedly had "no room" for my Limo. They're poor and lousy excuse was that I "never mentioned" to them that it was a limousine. For Pete's sake out of anything they could have said, this is what they came up with. This just goes to show that this shop wasn't built on any good morals or principles. Starting with Devon at the front desk the day I made my appointment he was very discourteous and impolite. I can remember when I told him it was a limousine he said " we have plenty of space" and that it "wouldn't be a problem" and I have two witnesses that can prove that. Even though Scott was not there when I made my appointment, two weeks prior to my appointment day January 17th 2022, Scott had already known information that I was going to bring my limousine in. So for him to say that he "didn't know" or "wasn't informed" that it was a limousine is 100% bologna sandwich. This place urgently needs some retraining on proper customer service etiquette, including the owner Scott. read more

Scott's Automotive is an auto repair shop behind On Point Credit Union, and next to a dentist's office. Please make sure you have the right business before you write a review. A lot of businesses depend on it. If I has not looked at the reviews I would have passed up this repair shop based on the star rating. My husband is currently communicating with this shop. They are taking their time, texting back and forth and are being real with him and trying to save us money. read more
