My truck wouldn't start Sunday morning 11/20 at 0830 and it wasn't the battery. Monday I did what I could and decided it needed a repair shop. Tuesday 0915 11/22 I had the local AAA tow company take it to Mac Auto Pros. Melissa, who is a total JOY to be around, said she would let us know later in the day what they found. They called at 5PM and said they would look at the starter in the morning and go from there. At 0915 11/23 they called and said it was fixed and ready to be picked up. Mac Auto Pro had it for 24 hours and put it back on the road. They got the truck 11/22 and fixed it 11/23. Our local Nissan dealer wouldn't even see me until 12/07. Here's the cool part. Mac Auto Pros could have said anything and charged anything. (Relative to the problem) but what they found was a broken bracket and charged 45 dollars. Being new to McMinnville, I wasn't familiar with the different businesses, but I knew that I wanted to go to a locally-owned shop. I didn't get the names, but everyone that worked there was so pleasant and attentive! The technician pointed out a gash on my tire that I didn't recognize and explained why it could be a problem and what I could do about it. Oil change, tire pressure, fuel topped off and rotating 2 tires led to about $70. Would definitely go again! read more

I would not recommend this place. They are over-priced and not very competent. They told me I needed a new power steering pump and hoses and it was going to be almost $2k when, after I took it to the dealer for a second opinion, it turned out I only needed the hoses and a seal. read more

I went to these guys two years ago to have my car looked at. It was over heating and I had no idea what to do. They looked at it and told me what was wrong and offered a great price to fix it. Then I asked them to do a total tune up which they completed in less than a week! And they came in $200 under their original estimate! We have used Mac Auto Pros twice now, and will only use them from now on. It is not easy to find a good and honest repair shop nowadays. Most places nickel and dime you and the job is still not done correctly. Took our vehicle in and found that a part we had installed someplace else (before we found Mac Auto Pros) installed the part incorrectly. They fixed the mistake and were honest about the part still being good and that it just needed to be re-installed properly. They only charged us for their labor, and the price was excellent. A buyer took my truck here to be inspected before he bought it last May, 2014. I took a truck in today (that I was going to buy) and had it inspected. So I've been on both ends of the spectrum with this shop. Both times Ed inspected the trucks. Both times he was fantastic! He'll give you an honest, intelligent opinion. I never felt like he would try to sell me on having work done that didn't need to be done. Let me tell you he saved me a TON of money today by advising me not to buy the truck -- at least not for what I was going to pay for it. We went to this shop and those supposedly fixed the problem, but two days later, our car broke down again, they did not take any responsibility for their error and told us, it's too bad.. we will NEVER use them again ....and don't recommend them at all. We purchased a vehicle from a supposed mechanic at Mac Auto Pro's.. The vehicle was parked in front of Mac Auto Pro's, so we thought that a mechanic would have taken care of it. We were very unpleasantly surprised by all of the things done wrong on vehicle. Radiator hoses were hooked up backwards, wrong oil pump was installed causing leakage, clutch was shot, and wiring in dash was all messed up. I guess that buying from a repair shop is not a good idea. I have learned a $3000.00 lesson. I will never do business with Mac Auto Pro's and suggest nobody else does either. read more

Took my suv in to have an oil change and asked if they could id a minor leak. I was told my radiator had to be replaced because it was cracked. I was also told that my transmission fluid was dirty and needed to be replaced. I was also told that I needed a complete break job. I was charged a $40 inspection charge, plus the oil change. The estimated bill was over $1100. Since I recently had the trans flushed I be came suspicious. I took it to another repair place and mentioned the same leak. They found it to be a minor repair that had nothing to do with the radiator. The trans fluid was found to be clean and new. The front passenger side break had a worn caliper. I had them repair the minor leak and to replace the break shoes and the bad caliper. The cost was less then $500. I asked this company for my $40 inspection charge since except for maybe the breaks, their inspection was wrong. The ans was no. My suggestion is to get a second opinion before doing business with this company. read more
