However, when they finally got around to looking at it, I got a call saying the batteries and terminals needed to be replaced. The thing is, my batteries never had any issues -- a simple cleaning would have been more than enough. Instead, they went ahead and installed two new batteries and claimed to have cleaned the terminals. By the time they were done, my bill was nearly $800, and the original issue -- the fuel pump -- wasn't even addressed. I could have easily replaced the batteries and cleaned the terminals myself for a fraction of the cost. What's worse is this isn't the first time we've had issues with this shop. We brought our Jeep in multiple times as well, and it also never came back fully fixed. We've been loyal customers, but this last experience has left us feeling taken advantage of and extremely disappointed. I can't recommend this shop anymore and will be looking elsewhere for future repairs.

When we brought our vehicle in to get body work due to a not-at-fault accident, he knew how to work with the other insurance company to ensure a smooth payout for damage, he provided a rental at the time of drop-off, and knew insurance hacks that average people like us overlook having never been in an accident. The body work was perfection, and it took exactly as long as he'd estimated. Alfonso also has in-house detailing services which he threw in for the cost of two car washes. Every nook and cranny of our car shined after this detail. A superb value. This is a family-owned and operated business. A generation of hard workers followed by a generation of even harder workers. The repair professionals at a reputable repair shop were disgusted that this incredibly damaged vehicle was given a gold star for safety by Newberg Tire and the brake job 2.0 (this time with correct parts!) plus many hours and other replacement parts later cost $2300+. Clearly oblivious (uncaring?) to the risk of driving 5 children in a car with a broken axle up a large hill to work in Portland and many hundreds of highway miles per week, Steve nickeled and dimed us over "the wear and tear on the (incorrect) brake pads" in negotiating a reasonable offer for the glaring lawsuit risk that is their shoddy work. He didn't return phone calls and deflected like a pro when asked how this oversight was both allowed and defended in his business. I'm not typically an angry review writer, but my family of mechanics would NEVER conduct their business this way.

I made the mistake of not doing these things and just taking the easy route by going to the place someone told me about without doing any of my own research and it really hurt. I paid for this in my personal time 20 times over at least and ended up having to get the same job done twice over . Also, if you've doubted my testament so far just read some other reviews that say the same thing - lack of professionalism, coming back to get the same work done twice and worst of all - being told I needed something replaced that didn't need to be. How do I know? Because the $1,400 item that needed to be replaced was justified because it was 'leaking'. a "bad seal", "have to replace the whole thing". Having learned my lesson on another $10,000 job done twice I investigated myself. Guess what? My power steering system is a new electric type that has no fluid, super weird, but chrysler confirmed "yea dude, it's technically impossible for there to be leaking fluid there because there is no fluid to leak". Turns out it was a messy oil change that spilled over - go figure. It's your life - waste your money if you want, tell yourself that won't happen to me. LOL. Do your thing.
