I went for the lunch buffet for $13.99 and feel like the BR location def has more options than the NOLA location (I haven't been to that spot in over a year though). There are some seafood options during lunch (salt and pepper crab, salmon, assortment of fish, and mussels) but if you want a wider variety, dinner is the way to go. I didn't try the sushi because the majority of them were always wiped out but the chefs in the back were doing their best to replenish whenever they could. Nothing to extraordinary with the sushi, I feel like you could get most of em at the grocery store. My favs at lunch were hands down the salmon and the baked mussels w cheese on top. The salmon was SEASONED SO WELL and I just kept going back for more. The mussels and cheese was def a hit too bc I could see the chefs restock every so often. There's unlimited boba (not included in the buffet) and I had the mango, which tasted watered down to me. The ice cream was amazing, got a mix of the taro and mango. The cakes were extremely dry and the mousse was the only thing saving it from totally crumbling in my mouth. For the most part, the food was piping hot, but there were a few options that were cold when I ate them, hence the 4 stars. The staff were incredibly sweet and would clean tables immediately after someone would leave.

They renovated snd added additional space which includes a very nice bar and ample seating. There was a DJ booth setup and I was informed the DJ comes on Saturday nights. The creamy green salsa in the squeeze bottle was delicious and super spicy which I love! Honestly it was the best thing of all. The salsa served complimentary with chips was very plain tomatillos sauce. The side of refried beans tasted like canned to me and the birria tacos ($18 for 4 with ample sauce) just were not the best. I'll go back and try something else next time. The waitress was great. I do realize it's hard to compare 98% of authentic Mexican restaurants to my F go-to authentic restaurant La Mexicana (with a market in front) which closed down on Siegan a couple months ago. I went there for at least 7 years on the regular and let me tell you.. the dishes were amazing and even their refried beans & rice at La Mexicana tasted like they were cooked completely from scratch .. like a true home cooked taste by a talented cook and I keep trying new places out looking for my new favorite.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with stellar customer service that set the tone for our entire experience. Our waiter, Justice, was truly delightful. It was an absolute pleasure being served by him. He was incredibly friendly, patient and attentive, especially with our party of 14, which included children. His attention to detail and welcoming demeanor stood out, and his positive energy elevated our experience. Justice went above and beyond, and his efforts did not go unnoticed! The entire staff working on Saturday, April 4 was top notch. Everyone we encountered was warm, helpful and professional. From the food and drinks to the atmosphere and overall service, everything exceeded our expectations. I can say this was a 5 Star Brunch experience. I will definitely be returning the next time I'm in Louisiana!

We made a reservation and were seated quickly but that's where the best part of the evening ended. There was a steady stream of people coming in and the restaurant is packed. The garage doors at the other side of the restaurant were open so it was hell a hot!! In mid-august!!! We ordered drinks and only three of the four were delivered. The fourth was eventually delivered. We order food and it was at best a 3. The best plate was the boudin quesadilla. I thought it was going to be small but was filling. The po boy didn't have any condiments on it and when I asked for cocktail sauce I was told they didn't have any!!!! How can you serve a shrimp po boy sandwich and not have cocktail sauce?!?! The fries were ok. But one of our party ordered her friend extra crispy and they were the second best thing served. The ketchup is bbq sauce mixed with ketchup. Interesting but not what was wanted for fries. Sean was our waiter and he was as good as he could be. He wasn't in charge of the drinks or the food or the heat. All in all I would not recommend SoLou.
