Loved everything about The Galley. Stopped in to kill time and get breakfast early in the morning as I was passing through MC. They start serving food at 6 but the inside is open before that if you just want to get coffee like a table of older men were doing. A table full of older guys drinking coffee is generally a good sign for a breakfast place. Moving on, the sausage biscuit and bacon were delicious and they kept my coffee topped off. Very lovely place for dining while in town! We ordered our appetizers first which we really enjoyed. The loaded fries hit the spot! We did notice however that our entrees took a little longer to come out. Without us having to mention it, our waitress was able to check on our food. The Philly wrap was not half bad albeit needing more seasoning. I loved the shoestring onion rings. Everything came out fresh and hot. Will be back soon! read more

When you have to take all the bread away just to taste the shrimp it ain't right. It was just a pitiful poboy with not enough shrimp and flavor. Very dry. The fried fish was ok. The fries were basic and the burger was ok. Fried pickles were decent and plentiful. Wouldn't see myself going back. read more

Came into this place about 45 minutes before closing and we were welcomed in without anger. Hear they're known for their breakfast; but we were served our drinks and food very fast. There's a nice amount of seating in this small joint with a few little game machines. The mac n cheese wedges are really good! They weren't as big as I expected but very good. I forget what the name of this burger was because they have a few, but it was also very good! Hot, wouldn't have hurt to put a little more cheese but had all other toppings and was very tasty, also huge! Fries were great as well and they don't give you much. Paid $72 for 2 apps, 3 drinks, and 3 meals so pricing isn't bad really. I wouldn't go far out of my way for this place but I would recommend it if someone was in the area read more

We were looking for a place to eat after a high school track meet, and we found The Galley on Yelp. We figured we'd give it a try! It doesn't look fancy on the outside, and the ambiance inside is casual (just like we like it). We weren't there at a peak time of day, so we were seated right away and service was super quick. I stopped in for lunch as I was in the area and feeling a bit peckish. The parking lot was full, inside was close to being full. I was promptly seated and brought a beverage of my choice. I got the grilled cheese sandwich with onion rings and it was perfection. Inside is kitchy with all sorts of knickknacks on the walls. The service was fast and friendly despite them being packed. This place was packed so we waited about 10 minutes for a table. The hostess was very sweet and chatted with our 4 year old while we waited. In my home town there was a country stop that served a deluxe club. It had roast beef in gravy on it. I asked if that was an option when ordering. Our server Nicole said I could get a side of roast beef in gravy with my club, so I did. It was soooooo... good!!! My husband and our son enjoyed their meals and appetizers as well. read more

If you have a legit service dog, expect trouble. I was asked multiple times to show an ADA card to prove my service dogs training. Illegal to ask me and does not even exist. There are NO such things as cards, registrations, certifications. Every website those are sold are scams and mean nothing and prove nothing. Despite telling him the 2 questions he is legally allowed to ask, he kept asking multiple other illegal questions. Given me an attitude. Claimed he knew the ADA law where clearly he doesn't after what he did based on what he did and asked for during this encounter. He acted like he was doing us a favor by allowing us to stay but told us next time I need that no. Existent "proof". When the proof he was asking for doesn't exist and proves nothing! At end he acted like he was doing US a favor by allowing us to stay, where the rest of the time, we caught attitude by the staff. I have video proof of needed. read more

As a local living in the area, this is one of our every weekend places to grab a bite to each. The breakfast food at the restaurant is amazing. Also a very friendly staff. As far as the appetizers go, we have tried almost all of them and they are all very good. There is no wrong choice in the section. Our top three appetizers would be the loaded fries with jalapeños, fried Mac-N-Cheese wedges, and the Boudin Balls! As far as breakfast food goes, the only thing I strongly do not recommend is the waffle. Waffle is usually pretty tough and or just distasteful. Pancakes are the best option in that category by far. They do have a large sized menu and majority of the food is amazing. Country Fried Steak - Amazing, Chicken Sandwiches - Amazing, Burgers - Amazing! Check this place out and enjoy the southern charm. We're from Lafayette and were on our way to New Orleans when I Yelped for a nice breakfast spot on the way and wow, did we find a spot in Morgan City! Now, on the outside this place isn't much to look at and in fact we drove by it twice before finding it and then debated on going in. We're happy we did. The decor in here is pleasant and the service was super friendly and quick. Zero complaints here and in fact it's above the average diner by a long shot. The food here was plentiful with the pancakes being the size of a plate. The steak and eggs were good and the chicken fried steak was just as good if not better. The hash browns are cooked fresh and everything was hot and fresh. Very yummy! I can't wait to come by here again and try more options on this diamond in disguise. Enjoy! read more

When I'm on the road, I like to seek out Hole-in-the-Wall or Mom N Pop joints. Here in Morgan City, Louisiana, I found several, I stopped by the Galley for breakfast and I wasn't disappointed. And you'll not leave hungry. The place is real family friendly and the service was great with friendly waitresses, that call you Hon. I just had your basic southern breakfast, scrambled eggs, two sausages, grits and wheat toast, served with a big cup of coffee. The eggs were good, soft, not runny and NOT overcooked like you get at the chain breakfast joints. The sausages were good, above average in size and the two slices of wheat toast were so thick they equaled about 4 slices of regular bread. They had little packets of Smuckers Jam and that might not seem like a big deal, but it's much better than the generic jam that the breakfast chains serve. Finally it was very reasonable and I highly recommend the Galley, I'll be back. read more

What a friendly clean breakfast location. We were immediately seated coffee was brought to us right away and our delicious breakfast came in no time at all. My husband ordered a meat filled omelette with grits on the side. The three egg omelette was enormous that we even took leftovers, probably half of the portion with us. easy on and off route 90 with ample free parking. Country music was playing and the bright and cheery location was again most welcome. We were only there for breakfast but it was obvious that their stage allowed for live music and they had a gaming room for the over 21 crowd in the back.
