I was really hoping that I had found a true Deva stylist for myself and my daughter. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. She did not do a Deva cut. Yes, she cut the hair dry but she also ran her fingers through the curls breaking them up and then pulled the hair straight and cut it straight across. My daughters hair came out uneven and shorter than she wanted it. Also, she does not wash and style the hair. I was informed AFTER THE CUT that those things were a la carte. WTF?!?!? She applied a spray mixture of conditioner and water and NOTHING else. I will admit she was a good conversationalist to my daughter but I was not paying for conversation. I would have loved to have gotten the type of haircut I paid for. We will never be going back here and definitely would not recommend to anyone. read more

I really was looking forward to coming and getting my hair done by Michelle because she was recommended by so many people but after sitting in her chair for five minutes, I realize that she was more concerned about herself and her life than my hair. She thought of herself as being some sort of personal coach but her life was just a wreck and all she kept talking about was how to create my life and all I wanted to do was get my hair done. It was possibly the worst hair experience I've ever had. If I could give her 0 stars I would. And her prices are so expensive for being in Thousand Oaks, what a disappointment! read more

Ashley is a hair goddess It took me a long time to find a person to give me the perfect cut and color and I am sooo glad to have found her! She came highly recommend by friends and family and I won't go anywhere else. She is very down to earth, friendly, follows up after appointments and reminds me when it's about time to take care of myself again (raising 2 boys leaves me forgetful and little ME time :) ). I have been in the beauty industry for many years when I came across Freebird!! This is one of the cutest studios I have ever visited. She is a world of talent in so many ways. I've never loved my hair more than I do now. She heard me which is such a relief. I also learned a ton while sitting in her chair. She uses a technique that I found so amazing!! She cuts to the moon cycles (which I will admit I was skeptical at first) till i experienced first hand it works. I had just had a child and my hair was falling out like crazy when she had me come in on a strengthening day, within a week of keeping track of my hair loss in the shower I went from 2 handful of hair a wash to a few strands "normal hair shed"!!! My second cut I came on a thickening day and within 2 haircuts my hair was full and back to its healthy state. I've now had a lengthening Cut and with no surprise I was able to finally get past my stuck spot right above the bra line. I have watched my hair transform in the most amazing way. All due to Michelle. She promised me if I was patient and could trust her she would get me to where I wanted to be. She has exceeded my expectations and beyond! She was very very expensive and she did what she wanted not what I wanted. I had to go to someone else to fix my hair. Didn't listen to me at all. She ruined my hair, it looks horrible. The cut was just okay, but the color was horrible and damaged my hair. I have spent a lot to try and fix it. She smells like cigarettes and has an excuse for every thing you mention you don't like. She won't take responsibility for her mistakes. I booked an appointment to learn about curly hair. She had her assistant spray diluted conditioner on my hair, scrunched it a little and had me sit under the dryer for a few mins. I left with my hair very wet. For what I paid, I should have had perfect hair leaving her salon. She didn't teach me anything. This was a total waste of my time and money. Her assistant almost pulled my hair out trying to get the foils out of my hair. It was a tangled mess after she was done. Michelle had to come over and show her how to do it correctly. I was in tears it hurt so much. I didn't expect to pay that much money to have a trainee learn on my hair. I felt like I was at a beauty school. When she knew I was unhappy didn't seem to care. She just wanted her money. I should have refused or taken her to court. YES! It was that bad. The next hairdresser I went to thought I colored my own hair and I was there for her to fix my mistake. She was shocked to learn a "professional" did that to my hair. She was double shocked when I told her how much I had to pay for my hair to look like crap!
