Do not use this company. It's a long review but worth the read. Our experience with the company started out great or so we thought. We chose this company because it accepts people with lower credit scores and my partner wanted to be able to build his credit and buy a car. We understood the consequences of paying a higher interest rate, but were willing to accept it. We had no mechanical issues with the car we made our monthly payments on time. We were told when we purchased the car that the company would pull our credit and send the monthly report to Equifax when we're making our payments on time. That did not happen. Neither one of our credits were pulled, and there was no report to any of the three credit bureaus that we were making our payments. In December, the car was involved in an accident. Because of the snow and ice and bad weather it was difficult to work two full-time jobs and collect the data needed for the claim. When all was said and done, the insurance company totaled the vehicle, and an amount was suggested. Because I was not the owner of the vehicle, I advised the insurance company they should make those arrangements with the dealership as to what they would accept. I put F&S Financial, which is the in-house lending company for Free Bridge auto in contact with my claims agent, giving the claim number the agent telephone number and her extension. Vise versa with the insurance. That's when everything went south. We did what we were supposed to do when the accident occurred. It was after hours, so we left a message and then we called back the following morning to report the accident to the dealership. I did so with TJ. The insurance company was contacted immediately. now that everything is supposed to be settled and done the dealership is trying to make claims that we never notified them. They're trying to make claims that they're not able to contact the insurance company for three weeks. They claimed that the insurance company wasn't contacting them back about payment of the vehicle. Within a five minute call, I spoke to the claims department got the total, made sure everything was signed off on and approved. Payment was mailed out the following day. In the meantime, constant harassing calls threats of interest rates for nonpayment, yelling, screaming, unprofessional language, unprofessional behavior in general is all we have dealt with since. The Manager TJ remained reasonable until today when he yelled and became disrespectful. He advised me that Sean (sp) his manager, was aware of my situation and listened in the background and did nothing. Our files have been documented improperly with Barbara at F&S Financial stating she was calling and leaving messages with the insurance company every day. I spoke with the agent who verified that when messages are left, it is sent to an email. She verified through her email that there were no messages in her email from them. To be "devils advocate " she said that there was a time when they were transitioning phones, but keep in mind I speak to them every time I call! They went so far after hours 6:30 in the evening to be exact as to call our phone blocking their number so when we answer the number they just hung up. They did not realize that all you have to do is return that call from your call log and it automatically dials the number back. So when we did so, a live person, Alicia to be exact answered the phone. She immediately started yelling and screaming that she had never spoken to me before and didn't know why I was calling and hung up the phone. We called back they would hang up. They are the most unprofessional, disrespectful company that I have ever experienced. They put on a nice front, but as soon as someone calls them out for being in the wrong the defensive aggressive behavior starts. Do yourself a favor and steer clear. You will find that most dealerships have programs for everyone with better rates. read more

Worst experience of my life! I bought a car here 30 days ago. 31 days later, I pull it over to the side of the road because the engine was smoking. Both the thermometer and the water gauge are old, and neither were properly replaced. The radio they installed was wired improperly, so I can't get a signal when I go under a tree or leave the city. I took it to a AAA mechanic. They had promised when I bought the car that when I get it repaired, they would provide me with a rental. The manager refused to do so, since it's a "courtesy not a right." They underpay their mechanics 45/hr, which is less than the 75-85/hr industry standard. The work on these cars is cheap and poorly done. You're better off buying a car from a yard and fixing it up yourself. read more

Even before coved-19 we've dealt with this place I bought The first car that didn't even last 3 months. it broke down the first day I got it and it continued to break down ever since, so they swapped me over into another vehicle while I still had to pay for the first one that broke down. First let me say we learn from experience and I have learned an important lesson. Always read before you sign, anything. Buying my new car 90 days ago was easy enough. The sales associate was very friendly and provided me with tons of positive reasons why the car was right for me. What really sealed the deal for me and my father who was with me, was the 12 month bumper to bumper warranty. Because the car had such low milage. I signed all the paperwork and drove the car away. During the last 90 days I have had to replace the battery, replace the tires and get a total wheel alignment. During which I was made aware that my car had been in an accident and could never be aligned 100%. This had made the car very unsafe to continue to drive. I made a call to Free Bridge and got the sales associate on the phone that sold me the car and that is where things got really unprofessional. I was yelled at, cursed at and inevitably hung up on. Please be aware I am taking this poor business practice to the Better Business Bureau, but if you're reading this it may be for your benefit. Run, don't walk away. Shady place. Looks run down inside. Ancient office equipment. Car salesman don't have computers. No prices on cars in lot. They told us my husband had to cosign (made him give his income). That's not true They basically started the credit check and loan application, and had our income before we got a price on the vehicle, which was too much in my opinion. I can get much better financing from my bank. They kept calling my husband to find out if we were interested, even though they knew the car was for ME. Freebridge auto is about to get a lawsuit for harassment. My lowlife brother bought 2 cars from them. Totaled the first one in days of purchase. Then they sold him the second one. He managed to not total this one until a few months later. Not having insurance on the dodge truck that is still totaled and sitting at my ailing father's house. He continues to be a lowlife and change his number and run from them when they call regarding payment because he is always late. If this was a review of the collections depts relentlessness they would get 5's. It's not though. Free bridge has been asked not to call my father serveral times. So they call anyway and harass my 74 yr old father. I've asked over and over again for them not to call my father as it is not his problem. His name is Natt Hall 3rd NOT Natt Hall JR. Am I able to give zero stars? This place is extremely sketchy. Everything about this place says get out while you can! My friend almost fell into the trap of buying a car there, thank goodness she was patient and found something elsewhere. You can probably get a loan through your own bank with a much better interest rate than trying to get a car through these people. They make it seem like you were getting a good deal but you are not, you're getting ripped off. And as far as the cars go when you do actually find out how much they cost, they are way overpriced. The owner goes to Charlottesville car auction(https://mycvaa.wordpress.com/) and gets most of his cars from the REPO section and sells for double on his lot. Save yourself some money and out bid him. This was my first experience buying a used car from a dealer and things went much better than I feared. I had a financial downturn in recent year and my credit was very poor. I did buy a car that I thought was overpriced compared to the price I'd get if I bought it from an individual. I needed a newer car for work and this was the only way I could do it. They fixed a dent before I accepted it and the car was in near new condition when I drove off with it: new timing belt, water pump, tires, brakes, spotless condition etc. They exceeded my expectations and were respectful to me. I am paying a high interest rate, but that is my own fault for ruining my credit. As long as you make the payments, you'll be in good shape. What more can you ask for? if i could give zero stars I would! BEWARE! they use precomputed loans which deals with the rule of 78's! This is one rebate auto shoppers should avoid! It's a sneaky prepayment penalty. If you have already signed then there is no point in paying ahead. Your stuck and if you try to refinance you will just end up paying more. they sweet talk you and seem nice. ask for a carfax history report and weigh your options! read more
