Greg Laurie Thursday!!! I live in Long BEach but I think it is worth the trek. The physical locations is beautiful. It is a two stories with a children's ministry on the first floor. When you walk upstairs, there is a nice sized living area with some cool modern sofas and a large plasma- great for families who want to worship together. Inside the sanctuary there are huge stage and lots of teles for better viewing. Now the important stuff. A great worship band, great teachings and nice people with strong convictions. Came here for a visit to the OC and my sister brang me to Free Chapel. I can totally relate to everything our pastor said! He was so real... One of the best things I remember is when he said something like... It doesn't matter if you've got the case of the Mondays, feeling under the weather cuz its raining... its always sunny in God's presence. Its always sunny! And then he goes.... "Its always sunny, feeling under the weather? Whatever.. Whatever" Haha! It was so cool! He said whatever! Lol! I definitely enjoyed the band that played on Wednesday, there was so much talent on stage! I loved how alot of people seemed open minded as well. Such a nice sermon and when I move here, I'm definitely coming back! This could be a new thing for me. Ps. I thought one of the tall tatoo'd guitar guys was handsome.... and the drummer. My family and I visited Free Chapel for the first time after being invited by multiple different people. We really enjoyed ourself, I adore how the children area was grouped off by age group. I love attending Sunday evening service here sometimes. The worship music is extraordinary. Pastor Jentezen Franklin give some good sermons making them interesting and he is full of energy. The spirit and love of God just fills the church during the service. Before service starts you can check out the small bookstore that has some nice things and books by Jentezen Franklin. read more

I had heard about the church but decided to visit this Sunday and I loved it. I got there a little late because I got lost and the usher escorted me to a seat and the people sitting next to me shook my hand and said "welcome" The worship team was awesome! very professional and the message was short and sweet. This church is very fun and lively. I enjoy it every time and it feels like you're at a conference when you attend. Spirit lead and great teachings. My only few cons are that they don't always have the same pastor preaching which can make it difficult to form a "teacher, student" vibe. The church has a lot of people. For me I'm from a small town so it can be hard to get to know people when you're in a crowd of people. They do a lot of events and concerts for free. They have small group meet ups and discipleship programs. All of that is great. I just feel it's hard for me to feel connected in a more personal level with so many people in one location. read more

I have been watching Pastor Franklin online from the www.freechapel.org website. He is able to look at bible scriptures and show how they apply to us today. Unlike some pastors, he is not afraid to point out that people who continue living their lives sinfully, will find themselves in Hell not Heaven. Jesus will say to the sinners 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' I arrived at this church and noticed that the auditorium was very cold. I choose a seat in the front. After a few moments a man asked if he could "find a seat for me". I asked what was wrong with this seat. His reply was that "the front seats were reserved for the pastors". and their staff. I would have thought that the pastors and staff would already be settled and not need any help or assistance. No "hello", no "are you new here", no "welcome". nothing. I decided to try to find another seat where I could see, hear, and not be distracted. Then, after a bit of thinking and feeling that i was in the way, I decided that this church was not as interested in me as I was in it. I decided to drive back to Long Beach and enjoy the other sun. Also, what is the purpose of the smoke? Is it suppose to represent God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit? Wonder what would happen to church if there was a power outage and "no smoke"? Cancel church or do without the smoke? I will continue to look for more welcoming people, closer to my home. read more

I have been going here for a couple of years now and I must say that I am glad that I gave Free Chapel OC a chance. Pastor Franklin is a blessed man who listened to the Lord and started up this church years ago in Orange County. I tell all of my friends to give Free Chapel a try if they are in need of a home church. If you are single, married, or have children, this church is for everyone. They have the KP Discovery for infants and preschoolers, then they have KidPak from 1st thru 5th grades, and they also have Solution from middle schoolers all the way to young adults. These ministries don't entertain the young people - they educate them and equip them to handle real life situations; they allow the young people to share their faith and have fun doing so. They also have various ministries for adults (men's, women's, singles, married couples, and even seniors). I know how hard it is to find a good church and how there are many stereotypes about churches, but Free Chapel breaks those preconceived notions and opens up the doors to all ethnicities, cultures, and ages. I truly don't know where me and my family would be without Free Chapel. read more

I feel the presence of God in this church. Pastor Ben and Senior Pastor Jentizen deliver the message in a relatable manner. People say it is a a mega church, but its not. If people are coming to God and the church needs to expand, is that not a good thing? I have been going here for 4 years and the only thing I dont care for, and I wish they would read the reviews because I'm not alone , is the music. The worship and praise is usually my favorite part of church. But, the music is too wordy and not catchy at all. I like uplifting and upbeat praise music. I have seen Jentzen Franklin preach many times on TV. So when my wife and I ventured to Irvine to check out Free Chapel, we were surprised at the "night club/ rock concert" feel to the service. It felt chaotic to us. The loud worship "concert" atmosphere is not for us. (Who needs 4 guitars to worship?) While we love some contemporary songs, the music here didn't feel like it was worshiping Him. We didn't even make it past the opening 15 min of music when we packed it in, went to the car and drove to Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, where we got the Word of God and some more appropriate music. read more

You cannot go wrong visiting this church for the first time. My first visit last night was so cool. I attended the 6 pm Sunday service and walked in at 6:03. I hated that I was a little late but everyone greeted with smiles and the ushers were so helpful. The extra tv monitors make every seat in the house a good seat. The sanctuary is much smaller than I thought it would be which gives you a more intimate feeling which I liked. Praise and worship was off the hook - the freedom to just stand and observe, quietly sing along or raise your hands and praise is very nice. Worship is sooooo good here. There was a guest speaker Ricardo Sanchez who gave an amazing message of encouragement. My husband and I were so happy to have attended. It was the best way to end the first day of the new year. We have been attending FCOC for over 10 months and last Sun 9:30 am service we were met at the door with our Service Dog and was told by security to "hold on". The black pastor came immediately and said Service Dogs are not allowed in the building and signs are going up next week. We drove 1 1/2 hours each way. I pulled up the legal wording and churches are exempt from laws however written by the United States Code of Ethics for ADA states that churches should always allow guests with Service Dogs. How about LOVE for all and ALL are welcome. Maybe Jetezen needs to write that in his new book. Well they will answer to God one day. read more

I will never attend this church again I have been coming hear for about a year and I came to the 9 o'clock service this morning and as I walked in the door I was followed by a hall county police who ask me what I had on my side and I said nothing he then began to pat me down and said it was just your shirt I feel like he wAs profiling me because I have several tattoos I understand having some police in the parking lot to direct traffic but why inside the church?there is people killed all over the world every day for preaching Gods word why is this pastor so afraid of dieing for preaching the word that he has to use the churches money to pay a police to check people at the door I then came to Charles Stanley's church in downtown Atlanta and there is not even one police in the parking lot guess pastor frankling thinks he's a movie star and needs bodyguards instead of worrying about saling his book he needs to read some books about all the people martyred for preaching the gospel read more

I love this place. Been coming for about 3 years now. Was invited by a friend. I wasn't growing at my church. I love the music love Pastor Javon and Pastor Franklin. I always get pumped when I attend and leave feeling on heaven! I wish there wrre more ministry opportunities in my niche and I wish there were more small groups and activities for singles. This church is awesome---the music is amazing & Pastor Franklin is just a God send. His messages are so touching and caring. He cares about us single folks as well as the married & kids. I so wish he would move here and have both Saturday night and Sunday morning services, it's a bit difficult to do a Sunday afternoon church service for me---but he has such a huge following in Atlanta and they need him too! There is another pastor there that performs the Sunday morning services, and I've heard he's also wonderful. I don't know much about their volunteering and other groups yet, but they do have a singles group there. Only thing I would change is the parking; they block off certain exits and it's a bit of a nightmare getting out after service, so if you remember to park somewhere else, you'll be OK! This is an awesome church. I'm from West Angeles in LA and this is about the closet thing you will get to a good Bible believing...Bible teaching church. The church is diverse, which is great, Pastor Javon is anointed, the worship team is great, and the people make you feel welcomed. I attend the 10am service because I heard Pastor Franklin several times make statements about President Obama that I did not agree with, but that's cool, we can agree to, to disagree. The discipleship classes on Wednesday evenings are amazing, the teaching is the best I have received so far and that is saying something because I have had a lot of incredible biblical teaching along my walk with the Lord. The classes are anointed and right on point and the teaching is always backed up and supported with multiple scriptures. The Pastors and Teachers are so knowledgeable, ready with a servants heart to equip and build us up so we know and have a deep understanding of who we are in Christ so that we may boldly go out and spread the Good News to those that don't know Him and be in a position to equip and teach others so they may grow in their faith. Unequivocally te best preaching in Southern California. My husband and I drive from Los Angeles to Irvine weekly to get a fresh word of encouragement weekly from Pastor Franklin, Pastor Javon or some of the best guest preachers in the country. And the worship. On fire! Go Adam. What a lyricist. He writes some great songs that express the heart we all have to love on Jesus. Sometimes Israel Houghton visits too... Often. The women's retreat this year was off the hook. I got healed personally and haven't been the same. Beth Redman took me straight to the heart of Jesus. Thank you Pastor and Cherise!! We enjoyed this church for awhile. Pastor Javon was Very Awesome and Pastor Jentzen. Then the church started having Pastor Jentzen's son in law Aussie Gentleman very kind doing it more. It seemed like a different pastor every week at times that is not good. Please be CONSISTENT if you have Pastor Aussie one day then you should have Pastor Javon the other day. we wanted to see Pastor Javon and someone else would be speaking too many times! He is the Campus Pastor for goodness sake!! Also you charge too much for events golly this is a mega church don't charge so much food, rides etc. it is not right you are a house of GOD not part of OC. families are Already struggling as it is. you are a mega church with a gOOd fund .
