I haven't been at Bodi since the beginning but I have been a member for over 5 years and I definitely love that place! There are multiple options of classes that incorporate strength and cardio, yoga, heated mat Pilates and boxing (now Hyrox based class and straight lifting classes). They have expanded to 3 studios to offer all those classes, which is amazing! There's always a variety of exercises to hit the main muscles groups and the accessory muscle groups. The recovery room is super convenient to use after a class or on a rest day. Variety of class times to meet a large range of schedules. They truly value their members and community and are constantly finding ways to benefit the members even more. It can always be a little intimidating trying a new gym or class but I think they do a great job at trying to make everyone feel welcome & it's generally easy to follow along if feeling lost during a workout. The coaches bring so much energy & fun to the classes as well. Bodi is very affordable in comparison to other gyms (especially if you catch one of their sales around holidays). Class pass is another great way to experience some bodi classes. Definitely worth it to try at least once!!

I also love the layout of the gym it's clean, well spaced out, and the equipment is great. My only con so far is that, in my experience, the trainers haven't been very engaged with the class or offered much guidance on form. One of the things I love most about group fitness is when instructors hype up the room & shouting out members, offering motivation, or demoing the moves alongside the class instead of just in the beginning and I haven't really seen that yet. That said, the staff are all super friendly, the gym offers so much more than just strength training (which I'm excited to explore), and the playlists are a solid 10/10. If you're in Scottsdale or just want to try a new gym I highly recommend this one!

Found my new gym!…read more Short and sweet: Great HIIT studio that combines cardio and strength training to give you a great workout with friendly people and a competitive environment. The deets: The classes - this is why you come! Something different every day so you always feel challenged! The stronger you get the harder you can go, so you'll always get a great workout and push yourself to new fitness levels! They have morning and evening classes and even a lunch time for those lucky enough to get away from their computer screen (I wish!) Weekends only have morning classes, so that can be a bummer.. but I get it and motivates me to start my day right! They also have a run club I've been enjoying on Wednesdays and Sundays - please come, it's free! Everyone around you is so motivating! I feel like most people have been going for a long time cuz they are in such great shape! They still offer modifications - so don't feel like you need to be an expert. I just went from pushups on my knees to 2 full body pushups! Progress right?? Everything is timed and they have screens that show you exactly what you should be doing and how much longer you have to go! This is great for those who need a little more guidance (meee ‍ ) Best part about going to f45 classes is you don't have to think, you just have to do and I promise you'll get stronger! For those looking to get in really good shape they have nutritional plans and tips on their app and that's where you can really see a change. They also do challenges where you can win cool stuff! I'm busting my butt so that I can win an infrared sauna!! This has been great because I really need the accountability! They also offer heart rate monitor tracking. This is where the competitive side comes in. If you choose to share you name, they put it on a tracker during class to earn points. Sadly I've only gotten 1st one time, but I am getting WAY better workouts and pushing myself to do more to get more points. My endurance is up and I know I wouldn't have grabbed the 20lb dumbells if I wasn't trying to win! (Competitive much? Didn't realize till I was trying to get first place!) The other piece of the heart rate monitor is showing you where you are in the level of your workout. Technically green is ideal, so if you stay there, you're at the best place to burn the most calories - so who cares if you're first? ;) The staff - we all know it can be intimidating going to a new gym/workout studio not knowing anyone to workout. Every trainer there has been so nice! They help people when needed and give great motivation! I do feel sometimes they could help with a little bit of form for some, but I also know people are in the zone and if not in an injury position maybe not a big deal? For new people or anyone that asks for help they are ALWAYS there so I do appreciate that. The location - it's perfect! Right off the freeway, right next to a parking garage and even though it might look a little small, they always have room for each station's workout. I never feel over crowded and it just flows! (Ps.. they are adding a gate for the parking garage so add time to park! It'll be $3 but heard you can get it validated for free for 2 hours) They also have 2 gender neutral bathrooms with all the perfect amenities. Lord knows how many times I've forgotten a hair tie and they always have them and bobby pins. They also have deodorant, hair spray and showers with the works! I haven't showered there yet, but to know if I needed to it's there is super convenient! So I've been going for over 6 months and although a gym can do me justice I really like the class environment! I believe they have some free first class or discount class options for your first time. Come check it out and if you're at an evening class maybe I'll see you!! I'll be the girl that looks like she's dying but with a smile on her face! Haha.. Currently doing a challenge, so I'll update with before and afters and an updated review! Thanks F45! Wish I would have bought into your franchise when I wanted to buy a gym years ago.. you are definitely doing something right!

I had recently signed…read moreup for their "3 classes for $30" offer after trying the studio through ClassPass, and I am also currently an F45 Chandler member. The app allowed me to book and use my first class without any issue. When I tried to book my second class, it showed I had no classes remaining, even though I believed I still had one left. I called to clarify and resolve the issue so I could use my remaining class. During the call, I was told the offer had expired after 7 days and that the expiration was the same day (Tuesday). I politely asked if a one-time courtesy extension could be considered so I could use the remaining class the next day. The person who picked up my call (Shauna Fogg) literally laughed at my request and hung up the phone abruptly before I could fully address my concern, and I did not receive any resolution. I found the interaction unprofessional and disappointing, especially when I was genuinely considering purchasing a larger class pack after this trial experience. Will NOT recommend this studio for longer term business.

    Rumble Boxing - Boxing studio

Rumble Boxing was showing up in my social media feeds and wss offering a free first class so I…read moresigned up to get the experience. I've never boxed before but the thought of punching a bag has always appealed to me. Especially when work gets stressful. I've wanted to learn how to box but just timing never worked out, but yesterday I gave it a try here. This isn't going to be like formal boxing at all, more like a exercise version of boxing. It was still fun but different than I imagined. I thought I would be learning to box and kick the entire time but you only do that for about half the class. This studio is located right on Tempe Town Lake where there is a plaza for living, etc. It's in a busy part of Tempe and parking is tight here. You do have to park in the garage above the studio but your parking is validated every time you come for class, so that works out nicely. While the first class is free, if you don't bring your own wrap, the studio offers it for $25, seems a bit steep but then again this business has to stay open. They loan you boxing gloves free for your first class and provide towels. There are lockers here but for the life of me I can't figure out these self locking lockers, so I don't even bother to lock up my stuff. The ladies working here are very helpful and said they would watch my stuff. Two bathrooms available but will say the lobby is small and no place to sit while you wait for your class to start. They need a little bigger lobby. This class felt like the same ambiance is a cycling studio I used to go to, it's like being inside a club. I found the instructors mic set was way too loud and the music sound level will blow out your eardrums. I did see ear plugs available and next time will use them. Instruction was ok for me as I am new to boxing and could have used a few pointers but it's not like rocket science to figure out how to punch a bag, just keep punching and learn the specific moves later!! About 30 minutes of the class, you're working with weights, squats, burgers, lunges, core work out, etc. While I don't do this regularly, I definitely appreciated it as I want to do a bit more cross training. I also worked up a nice sweat and my HR was probably in 160s, I was working but not at my max. You begin class boxing and then come back to finish more boxing. I loved the boxing!! I like how boxing gloves feel when you punch the bag and there is a bounce/spring to it. What I really wanted to do too was to kick the heck out of the bag too. I want to learn how to kick on top of box. I enjoyed thie cardio boxing class and I did sign up for some more classes. They offer a 2 in 1 class deal and then after that you can either buy 4 classes a month for $89 or 5 drop in classes for $129. I'm ready to box some more! Great, fun workout and a nice variation to everything else I am already doing!

Let's get ready to RUMBLE! One of my friends mentioned she enjoyed taking classes at Rumble so I…read moresigned up for my first class (Full Body) using ClassPass. I got here early and was assigned a spot at the bag and bench and got some gloves to try for the class. Note that while you can use their gloves (Not sure if there is a rental fee after the initial class) you will have to buy your own wraps. I had my own wraps... well, I thought I had all of my wraps until I started to look around in my bag and realized I only brought one wrap while the other wrap was at home. What's a gal to do? Luckily the front desk person took pity on me and I was able to use a quick-wrap of theirs for this class on one hand while I used my own wrap for my other hand. I mention all this because I think for newbies, the quick wrap is probably the best type of wrap to use if you don't know good boxing form. I noticed after class that the quick-wrapped hand felt fine while my traditionally wrapped hand had some wrist soreness. Perhaps I needed to wrap my wrist with more fabric. If I take another class I'll be sure to modify my wrapping technique. The class itself had high energy and high VOLUME! The old fogey in me will have to wear ear plugs if I take a future class because my ears felt like how they do after being in a really loud club or at a rock concert. It took a few hours for my hearing to come back to normal. Pre-class, the instructor will go over the 6 moves for your bag. The numbers might be a bit hard to remember at first so there's a screen that reminds you what combo you should be doing and the instructor will come over too to correct anything you might need help with. We started on the bags. It was fun to do some punching and jabbing but the bags are so close to each other that if you are punching so hard that your bag moves, it might interfere with your neighbor's ability to move around. When we moved over to the benches we did exercises such as squats, burpees, and planks. My knees started to hurt a little after these few rounds (yep, old fogey here) but it wasn't too bad. There is also a screen here to remind you what the exercises look like. The last few rounds are back on the bag, doing more combos and freestyle moves. Overall it was fun and it was definitely a good cardio workout. I did get a little overheated during the bench part of the workout so I'll have to stay super hydrated if I were to take another class at Rumble.
