    Chicken quesadilla
    Matt C.

I ordered a chicken quesadilla and the tortilla was barely warm and floppy. Everyone knows a quesadilla is supposed to be toasted on the grill so the tortilla comes out slightly crispy. Whoever made this should not be working there. The tortilla was soft and had no toasted marks at all! This is the worst quesadilla I've ever had and will not be going back here. I would take it back for a refund if i was not on my lunch break.

This is the Freebird size burrito these days 2023. 3/4 the size of original.

Done here with this chain. Lackluster flavor, limited choices, cost has inflated for the value and size of portions decreased. Today half the fountain sodas were not functional. Staff inattentive during busy times and had to continue to clarify food order. The cost was crazy for 2 people. Broken chips, watery meat, this is for certain more fast food style versus what Freebirds used to be known for.

No matter how hungry I enter Freebirds I never leave not feeling stuffed. Their monster burrito is... well a monster! And for $10 it's one of the most affordable places near the domain. They have lots of options, just be sure to read the signs, many of their deluxe items (potatoes, queso, etc.) cost more. They also have plenty of different sauces so you can get a new flavor every time. Go light on the death sauce though... it packs a punch.

I placed an online order . The order was supposed to be ready at 12:07 . I came and it wasn't ready they ware busy. I understand that they ware busy. So I waited. 20 mins later. I've seen many people park , go inside , order , get their food and come out. I called the store. Tylar picked the phone up. He start arguing with me saying that the people that went inside had there orders ready, which he was lying because I have seen them order it. So I am wondering how do they get their food before me. He was being very rude over the phone lying to me. And he said for me to go head and give him this help review . I told him if he was arguing with me. He said he's telling Me how things work. Very rude . I've seen about 7 people come and go. I will NEVER EVER COME BACK TO THIS LOCATION.

We came here on a Friday evening and it was not busy. My husband and I both got burritos and chips with guacamole. The food was really bland and they loaded it up with rice and not very much of the other items. We were very disappointed with our experience.

It's hard to describe Freebirds without comparing it to Chipotle, which unfortunately meant that I had high expectations going in today for lunch. There was a long line, which was a good sign and to be expected at 12pm, but I'm not sure the waiting was worth so little food. They don't give nearly as much as Chipotle, sadly (at least for the bowls). I got very little rice and left feeling unsatisfied, even if the food was good. My friend ordered something that didn't come with rice and when she asked to add rice to it, they pretty much just sprinkled it on top. They're the same price as Chipotle and I honestly prefer Chipotle for both taste and value, so it doesn't seem like I'll be returning to Freebirds. Rude employee.

I came to Freebirds at 11101 burnet rd ste b130 Austin, TX 78758 after work around 6:20PM to pick up my husband's burrito order that was supposed to be done at 5:15pm. When I came in I got in line, when the person in front of me got called next the employee on the red shirt looked at me, and I politely told her that I was there for a pick up order, and a customer that had been there before us said she was there also for an order. She then told the employee that's wearing the blue shirt that we were there for the pick up orders and the employee answered with "they can wait" in a very rude manner. The 2 customers that were there waiting for their orders also heard that and they as well got surprised and even gasped. One of them even walked out. I didn't say anything, I'm not confrontational. The girl in the red proceeded to take 4 orders of customers that got there after I did. The girl in the blue came up to me and asked me the name of the order. I said "Bunjamin", she then walked away with out saying anything, and started doing a burrito (I'm thinking it's my husband's burrito.) She then went to the back, and came back after 3-5 mns to finish the burrito. When she finished it she calls out for "Evan." Meaning the whole time she was purposely ignoring me and being rude to me for no reason. Never once was I rude or complaint about the time. I just wanted her to give me the burrito that was supposed to be done from an hour earlier. I left the store upset and after telling my husband, he called the store. He said that the lady said the burrito had been done this whole time and that it was behind the counter. This is the worst experience I've ever experienced anywhere. I don't ever take pictures of employees but these were the ladies that were extremely rude.

Once you're inside, though, the whole operation runs with impressive efficiency. You order at the register, take your receipt, and hand it off to one of the taco guys behind the counter. As the sign says, "No Ticket, No Taco!" so don't lose it. Seating is limited and the line can get long, but they move fast. And don't come expecting cheese or sour cream -- the only add‑ons here are cilantro, onions, salsa, and guacamole. It's a stripped‑down menu, and they stick to it. The tacos are solid. The beef isn't anything remarkable, but the chicken is tender, moist, and genuinely flavorful. The quesadilla is the sleeper hit; the baked cheese gives it a deep, savory punch that outshines the tacos. And if you're hungry or just want the best value, the burritos are enormous -- stuffed right up to the tortilla's structural limit. A hidden little alley spot that delivers quick service, simple options, and reliably good food once you manage to find the door.

For our entrées, we had Brian's Alambre Plate, the Chicken Mole, and the Line Cook's Snack Plate. Brian's Alambre Plate combines sirloin, pork pastor, house-made chorizo, and bacon with peppers, onions, and melted Jack cheese. It was good and certainly offers plenty of variety and flavor. For my personal taste, though, if I am primarily craving meat, I prefer Eldorado's Carne Guisada. There is nothing wrong with the Alambre, I just think the Carne Guisada is the stronger choice for me. The Chicken Mole is my wife's favorite, and unfortunately it is only offered as a special late on Thursdays. The house-made mole has a rich, distinctive flavor that works very well with the chicken, and it is easy to understand why she looks forward to it. The Line Cook's Snack Plate was also a great combination with two flautas, a choice of Chicken Caldo or Texas Red, Eldorado rice, and guacamole salad. It is a nice option when you want a little bit of several things rather than one large entrée. Overall, another very enjoyable meal at Eldorado Cafe. Good food, plenty of variety, and enough different flavors on the menu that everyone can find a favorite. We certainly have ours!

The sides were great as well and complemented the steak nicely. I had the Watermelon Agua Fresca to drink. It was refreshing, but not my favorite watermelon drink I've had. Overall, I loved the steak and was impressed with the quality of the food! A couple of things could be improved, though. Some of the light fixtures hang way too low, so if you're tall, be careful! Also, the back-of-house area spilling into the restaurant space feels a little odd and takes away from the overall atmosphere.

Somehow I'd never been despite living so close, so I was excited to finally check it off my list. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, and their famous foyer is just as pretty in person as everyone says. I came with a friend, and we grabbed seats at the bar first while waiting, but I definitely recommend making reservations because this place is BUSY, even on a weeknight. Parking can also be a bit of a struggle since they have a pretty small lot. I had to make a few laps before I finally found a spot, so definitely give yourself a little extra time. They do offer valet, and I believe you may also be able to park in the lot next door after hours since it's their sister restaurant, but don't quote me on that haha. Their margaritas are also really good and definitely on the stronger side, so they were a great way to start the meal. The staff here was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the night. They even walked us to our table and later showed me where the bathroom was, which I thought was a really nice touch. As for the food, it definitely lives up to the hype. It's on the pricier side, but everything tasted incredibly fresh and was well worth it. We ordered the enchiladas, which were delicious, and the shrimp was probably my favorite part of the meal because it was so fresh and perfectly cooked. I can definitely see why this restaurant has been around for so long and has such a loyal following. It took me way too long to finally come here, but I'll definitely be back. One thing I'm noticing as we do these is that you often write reviews that are genuinely useful--not just "food good/bad." You include things like reservations, parking, what to order, or where to sit. I think we should keep leaning into that because it feels very authentic to your style and makes your reviews stand out.
