I can't believe there are only 3 reviews... Dr Freedman is awesome! Not having insurance I don't go for annual visits (I know... I'm bad). I found Dr Freedman over 21 years ago after moving to the area 7 months pregnant. He delivered my son in 1994 and I can honestly say the whole experience was fantastic! He actually had to race back to the hospital when I went into labor, and because it was progressing so fast he had to bring his daughter (who was probably about 5 yrs old?). After delivery I got to meet her and even have pictures with both of them & my family! We moved out of the area for numerous years. I was thrilled to see he was still in the same office building! I referred my daughter to him & she loves him (and my daughter is picky about her doctors). I found out my bosses wife goes to him too & loves him! The office is beautiful, the staff friendly and efficient! If your looking for THE BEST OB/GYN... Dr Freedman is it!!!!! read more

Dr. Freedman saved my life...literally. This review is a little late as this event happened several years ago but after seeing how truly difficult it is to find good doctors in LA, I feel like people need to know about him. After experiencing severe pain in my abdomen about 5 consecutive days in a row and having gone to the ER twice and getting no clear resolve, I finally made myself go to the West Hills Hospital. Now just to clarify- when I say severe pain, I mean gut-wrenching...beads of sweat were rolling down my forehead, heart was racing...it was (to this day) the worst pain I've felt in my life. When I got there, my stomach was expanded like 3 times it's normal size and it happened over night. I looked pregnant and the doctors were thinking it was appendicitis. They ran tests immediately (probably because I was screaming at the top of my lungs in the waiting room, clearly scaring people). The test came back negative for appendicitis but showed that my blood count was very low and abnormal and showed signs that I was bleeding internally (like I was dying). At this point they ran more tests..Enter Dr. Freedman. Dr. Freedman came in and introduced himself as a specialist and not to worry that everything would be okay in a very calm and collected manner (which helped me be a little more calm and collected). He let me know that the blood and tests are showing signs of a ruptured cyst that caused internal bleeding in my uterus. He went on to tell me that I was going to need emergency surgery if my blood count kept dropping and that depending on where the cyst ruptured I might not be able to have kids. He was telling me awful news and I'm not sure if it was his calm demeanor or me trying to calm the nerves of my family there with me, but I started laughing and making jokes. He came in aboUt an hour later and told me that the tests were saying I needed surgery but my attitude was saying I didn't so I'm he wanteD me too stop faking feeling okay... I went through with the surgery and felt like I was in and out in no time. Dr. Freedman was able to remove the cyst in a way at that didn't compromise my reproductive organs and I recovered quickly. From that day on, I began seeing him as my obgyn. I ended up moving after college to dtla so haven't had a chance to see him in the recent years but wish there were more like him out there! read more

Dr Freedman is wonderful. He was my OB for my second child and I felt completely comfortable with him. He has great bedside manners and a great sense of humor. I highly recommend him if you are looking for someone to deliver your baby. My only "con" is that ultrasounds were conducted outside of his office and I only got about 3 of them during my whole pregnancy. I think this might be an insurance issue not wanting to pay for them but a few years when I was having my first one, they passed out ultrasounds like they were Red Vines! Also, there was a insurance confusion issue the day before I was supposed to have a c-section. This was more of a West Hills Hospital mess up but I really wish the office had taken care of it earlier and not before I was going in. I got to the hospital for my scheduled c-section and they almost didn't admit me. Other than that, I adore this practice and highly recommend! read more

I have had 4 pregnancies and have had multiple OBGYN's in the past 20 years. Dr. Freedman is the best and the most knowledgeable. He made me feel comfortable and at east. He has the best sense of humor and I wish more doctors were like him. read more

I am a fan of Dr. Freedman soon as my husband and I stepped in his office a year ago! He is not only handsome, but is also very funny! Although he wasn't there during my actual delivery (he was out of town and has been warned about it 2 weeks before my delivery), he took care of me the whole 9 months. He has all the answers to my worrisome questions about my pregnancy. Their very cozy West Hills office serves a whole spectrum of new magazines that seek to entertain everyone who might be 'waiting' for their turn. The staff are all very very nice and patient. Overall, I recommend Dr. Freedmand and Dr. Oleander to Pregnant moms! More power to Dr. Freedman/Dr. Oleander and their staff! THANK YOU SO MUCH for everything. read more

Dr. Freedman is the best OB in town! My wife and I had such a rocky pregnancy until we meet Dr. Freedman he saved our baby! Our baby wanted to come out at 24 weeks but he wouldnt have made it my wifes cervix was short and opening up but the Dr. Did a procedure called a cerclage, and without his medical attention we wouldn't be having our son he is now 39 weeks doing very well and ready for the outside world. I see that there are a lot of positive reviews on here and I wish mine was as well. When I first was referred to Dr. Freedman I didn't have insurance. I called to see how much a consultation and an ultra sound would be and I was quoted $200 on the phone. When I got to the office the $200 suddenly turned to $450. I walked out of the office and by the time I got in my car they called and said that they made a mistake and it was actually $200 and I could come back. I went in to see him and at that time I was having some serious issues and I really needed to do an ultra sound. The Dr. had a quick conversation with me and said he didn't need to do one yet I was charged for it. I then made an appointment to come back and have my IUD inserted. At this point I came back with insurance. I took a strong painkiller, which I hate taking, because it's a painful procedure just to find out that nobody in the office even ordered my IUD. They just thought I was coming in for a check up. Once again I was charged $60 co pay to have a quick chit chat with the Dr and nothing else happened. So I rescheduled to actually have it inserted. When I asked if I'd be charged the Co-Pay again they said yes, even though it was their fault and they completely forgot to put in the order. At this point I felt uncomfortable to come back to their office so I cancelled my appointment to have the IUD inserted. I did however receive a notification from my insurance company that they ordered the IUD and had no intentions of telling me that they had it. I went to the office and picked it up and on top of it closed out my $60 copay bill. I even confirmed with the front desk that I was all clear and owed nothing. Last night I checked my mail and I got a bill for $100 saying that I DID NOT HAVE INSURANCE. I gave the front desk girl my actual insurance card. Their office is extremely disorganized and at this point I would even say SHADY. I wish I could say that I had a good experience, but it was far from it. read more

I wish I could give no stars! From the get go my experience her was to cry for! I was referred to this office by my HMO. I go to his office about 10-11 week pregnant and using his old us machine tells me I lost my baby. He send me to the ER and the tech find the baby right away and with no distress. I naively gave him another chance, telling my husband that things like that happen. After a few weeks, I had bleeding and cramping so I went and was seen my another female MD she was very unfriendly but I didn't care so long as I knew the baby was fine. She tells me that the u.s. showed I had Placenta previa. This would require I have a c section and so they keep me believing this all throughout my follow up care until at 6mo I came to a problem with ins not authorizing my u.s. So I clearly asked the Dr himself it I still had placenta previa and if I did this would be a life threatening condition. He said YES. So I fought insurance only to find out by the insurance that I no longer had placenta previa based on a previous u.s done 4 MONTHS prior!!!!!! He lied and then when I was so upset and called their office HE had the nerve to say that I am was mistaken and that I should be more worried about getting my u.s then for me to be mad at his misdiagnosis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was beside myself!!! He then said he spent hours on the phone for the insurance to approve the ultrasound( good!!! And you should have been honest with me in the first place!!!!) I had the ultrasound and found another doctor thru my pcp. If I had not I honestly believe I would have lost my baby because every time I went in for follow up care he was not even checking my fluid level and my new obgyn found that right away. I was hospitalized for a week and had to see perineonatologist! I hope this helps to avoid this office at all cost!!! I work for a doctors office and if I knew any of my doctors worked like that I would quit for my own self worth!! read more

I give this place Cero stars.i went there back in January and I was told I don't have to pay anything. Almost 2 months latter and received a bill.i called spoke to a very rude and cocky woman ANNETTE and she said I had to pay it. she doesn't know why they told me I didn't owe anything she has no control on that, in a very rude tone. She said you just have to pay it and that is that and hang up on me. I called back and Maribel said that there is no one else I can talked to about her behavior because there is no one else above her. I guess Drs here don't care about their patients if they hire people like ANNETTE that think they are above everyone else. she needs to go back to school and learn some manners. read more

I love Dr Freedman. Feel totally in safe in his care. I hesitate to give 5 stars only because he's already so busy and selfishly want to keep him a secret. I been looking for a gynecologist for a while now! I finally was referred to Dr. Freedman let me just say that I would pay out of my pocket for his services. Reading some Yelp reviews was so negative and I was little worried but I couldn't be more happier to have him as my dr. He is so sweet and understanding and he has sense of humor he doesn't make you feel uncomfortable my first male dr and he is amazing!!!! He explains everything and sits with you before he exams anything. He asks questions that you usually answer on your own when you get your paper work. I loved his service and if anyone is looking for a gynecologist he is great. check him out don't listen to these negative Yelp reviews. His stuff is very friendly and patience. His receptionist Elizabeth was great very sweet. Most office don't know how important it is to have great front desk they think as long as we do our job no I think that stuff is more important then the dr. Only giving 1 star because THE OFFICE STAFF IS AWFUL!!!! Being going to see Dr Freedman for over two yrs now!! He is TRULY AMAZING but in all honestly the whole office staff needs to be let go.. They truly don't care about the patients.. It takes numerous of calls and babying them to get a call back!! I was BLEEDING for 2 months straight leaving msgs everyday to speak to DR Freedman.. No one there knows how to pass along a msg, I WORK in the medical field, everytime a patient wants to speak to dr or has question, u give it to the dr the dr will either then personally call back patient or have us forward the msg along!! I'm soooo sick of this office the only way I get thru the dr is asking to speak to his assistant and leaving a msg for her.. She's the only one who knows how to follow protocol, I'm sad to posb be leaving this practice but the STAFF is unprofessional and do not care for the patient needs!!!!!!! I was impressed with everyone and everything about this office and this doctor. I am an RN, so I realize that I can be hypercritical at times. The environment is lovely, all of the staff was very pleasant and helpful. And, I have not had a doctor spend that much time with me giving me information, low pressure options and allowing time for questions. He is very calming and genuine. Dr. Freedman is a great Doctor with great bedside manner, if you like a jokester. We were referred to Dr. Freedman more than halfway through our pregnancy and we are so glad he took us in so late in the game. We had a terrible experience with another OB group and needed out. This was the best thing that could have ever happened for us, especially for our situation. Our baby was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 via Amnio. Dr. Freedman took our case knowing our situation and the emotions behind it, and helped us get through this journey with ease, humor and sensitivity. Shame shame shame to this office for interrupting their patients treatment due to a change in their insurance policy!!! I was a patient for two years and I came up with a condition that was treated by my gynecologist at this office, in between my treatment she had to leave for couple of months for pregnancy purpose and her patients were seen by dr Freedman. So her assistant told me that she would make an appointment for me with him to continue my treatment and follow up. A day before the appointment someone from the office calls me to let me know that they no longer accept my insurance and that I need to either pay for the visit or change my doctor!!!!! I explained that I was in between treatment and after this is taken care of, I will change either my insurance or the Doctor, I also let her know that I was very surprised that they had not notified me of this change earlier in my treatment. She didn't want to hear me and rudely told me the best way is to go see another doctor. Which I certainly will and will also certainly file a claim with the medical board. read more

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Freedman and his assistant Marebell. From the moment I first met him, he has been a blessing to my family. I had been trying to get pregnant for 3 years prior to being referred to him. I had different Dr.s tell me I wouldn't have kids but I kept at it. Even had one that said I should get a hysterectomy due to my PCYOS and Endometriosis. Not Dr. Freedman! From day one he was very positive and optimistic about me getting pregnant. Dr. Freedman started by having me drop a few pounds and start proper medication. 3 months after I was pregnant! During my pregnancy he was always happy to answer my questions and reassure me that all the changes where normal. His assistant always made me feel comfortable and also reassured me I wasn't going crazy and my mood swings where normal. At 33weeks pregnant my water broke. Once at the hospital we found out my son was in a breached position. I had an emergency c-section and wasn't even aware it was an emergency until 2days later when I overheard the nurses outside my door. Dr. Freedman kept me calm the entire time. We where laughing and joking when I was being stitched up. I honestly feel so lucky and blessed to have them and am SO grateful for all the help they have given me and my family.
