Not a good experience. I went in to trade my vehicle and already new the vehicle I wanted had done it mostly over the phone. Arrived at the dealership and my salesman James was nice. I was also charged GST twice. I waited for 2 hours for the financing to get completed they told me 15 minutes. Took 3 days to get the financing approved. Purchased the paint protection pkg which I usually never do because its not work it. Part of the deal was Ford would throw in tint, I explained to the salesman 3 times also via text, so he had it in his phone of how I wanted it tinted and they did not do it how they were asked so it had to go back. Then to top it off when I received my vehicle after they applied the protection coating it was delivered scratched up all over the entire vehicle. I purchased the vehicle Dec15 had to take it back Dec 2 for the tint and paint to be repaired, paint was not repaired it is still scratched so have to drop it off again to see if they can fix the paint. This was honestly one of my worst experiences purchasing a vehicle other than Land Rover. read more

I was told that AMVIC requires the dealer to charge this fee.....that was a lie. Visit the AMVIC (Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council) website for many of your questions. We are very happy with the truck we ended up with at a private seller after the great disappointment we had at your dealership. We drove from Calgary to see this truck and were quite excited based on how it was portrayed on your website. When we arrived our hopes were dashed at seeing the true condition of the vehicle. Never was it explained this truck came from BC, never was explained that it was a work vehicle, never was it explained about the orange spots all up and down the box nor the unsavory condition of this inside of the truck. We do understand based on the year there would be some rust but this truck wasn't worth it for us at all. When showing our disappointment and upset about this truck to John he just kept saying well you have to expect this for the year and also anyone can make the outside of a truck look nice and it's like putting lipstick on a pig and the price we wanted to pay and then proceeded to ask if we wanted to finance a newer truck and use that money as down-payment. We just finished paying off two vehicles and wanted nothing to do with payments again hence why we were looking at used. We were also very disappointed in the fact that we promptly sent our deposit via e transfer however was informed we had to wait for the finance department to do up a cheque and mail it to us. We had talked to other dealerships who don't do that kind of shotty practice and would refund directly if not satisfied. We received a phone call the following Thursday from someone named Rob whom we had never dealt with saying they finally have our cheque and want to know if we want to mail it or if we will be in the area. I tried expressing my concerns about why this wasn't done first thing Monday as promised and he quickly shut me up and said this is my first time dealing with this and just repeated about what we wanted to do with the cheque. He didn't want to hear anything I had to say nor offer an apology. With all that had occurred we definitely won't be referring anyone to deal with your dealership and not to mention the folks we bought our new truck with when mentioned about what happened with you guys said they have had plenty of issues and so have others dealing with you guys. Tarun and Wilson repeated lied to us, asking us to wait as it would be ready soon. We waited to test drive it for 7 hours like losers and went in for the last time frustrated only to be told they actually needed to order a new piece that wouldn't be in till next week. The car salesmen I was originally dealing with new that I needed a vehicle quick as I was using a rental due to my vehicle being stolen. They were aware I Was paying cash from a payout. The first time in the dealership they did not even have the vehicle there. They told me to come back the following day and they would have it there. I had put a deposit down at this point as I was very interested. Following day no keys could be found, told me to come back. Third time came in went or test drive, told the deal I offered the first day was not going to be accepted. They advised me to take out a loan instead of paying for cash. I felt terrible by the end. We bought a truck with them recently. I am impressed with their level of service and expertise. The sales team (Tony TL, Martin and Kent ) were very easy to deal with. I always find car buying and car salesmen are intimidating, but not this time at all. They were not pushy, willing to take time to understand my needs. Most importantly, when it was time to negotiate a price. I did not feel intimidated. We were able to communicate with our price point and expectations. Overall,I feel I have a fair transaction. Also, TL even send us a "walk through" video is our truck after the truck was already sold to us. I thought this was above and beyond his duty. He really didn't have to do that, since it was already sold. The video was a great reminder on what some of the buttons are for as there are SO many buttons! read more

I bought a truck from these SCUM BAGS,(salesmen and sales manager) when they showed me the truck it was snowing, when they brought the truck to the front of the dealersh they did not clean off the snow off of the pick up bed, lots of hidden damage that they did not show me , ( I should have seen it but I didn't). when I went to pick up the truck after they did the "mechanical Inspection " I seen the damage and said I want my money back, the scum bag lowe Sales manger said no. so I told them to fix the damage and I will be ok with that , so I dropped off the truck, 4 days later, the Scum bag sales manager calls me and says there is more damage and they won't be fixing , these was after we agreed they would fix it , also the mechanic inspectoon there mechanic did not see the serpentine belt needed changing . the ONLY person at the dealership to help me was the service manager Mike Shipley , Mike took charge and got the truck repairs completed , even Thor I have to go back because they couldn't even reattach the pick up bed to the frame properly... THEY TRIED TO SCAM ME. DOUBLE CHECK THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS. I had my truck inspected in a Ford service centre before I started a 3600km journey to Edmonton. It was given a thorough inspection and received a clean bill of health From a Ford dealership in Ontario. Nothing was wrong with the truck. Before I drove back home I decided to take my truck to Freedom Ford to have it checked and have an oil change done since I was traveling another 3600km back home. To my surprise they said that I needed to change my fluids, ball joints, sway bars and more. The repair bill was $4500. Mind you the truck was driving fine. There was no rattling, no drifting to one side, the steering felt fine. I also just had all the fluids replaced before I left Ontario. I called my mechanic (Ford dealership) and he said the likelihood that all those failures would occur at the same time is highly unlikely. I made the choice not do the work and I drove it home. I was really stressed driving back (Was worrying of a breakdow). One year later I am making my journey back; I just took my truck in and again to Dord in Ontario and everything is fine. I showed them the report they gave me (Freedom Ford) and they said they are not seeing their findings. Mind you this is one year later. They tried to rip me off. I have a report before I left Ontario from Ford, A report from Freedom Ford, An inspection from a mechanic once I returned home and an Inspection 1 year later from Ford in Ontario. I have a disabled child and need a lot of money for his care. This could have made things very difficult for me. But luckily I listened to my mechanic. I am hoping it was a one off but it raises Eyebrows for me. Shame on you Freedom Ford!!! read more

I booked a test drive for a afternoon vehicle 3 days in advance of the test drive. I talked to a sales representative over the phone to book the test drive. Everything seemed to go good. They said they would email me extra details about the car. The salesman also said they would text me their business card. I gave them my information and all seemed well. After a day of waiting I was getting suspicious, I never received any communication from freedom ford. So the evening before the scheduled test drive I phoned in again, to confirm everything. This is where it all started going wrong. Firstly they informed me that the vehicle is sold. Ok, so that's understandable, but they could have given me the curtesy of a phone call. Freedom ford is an hour drive for me. Ok so it sold, then the salesman I had on the phone informed me that the car I booked for a test drive wasn't road legal anyways. Okay, I'm slightly concerned they would allow me to book a test drive with a vehicle that wasn't road legal. Then he informed me that the car I was looking at had a list of required repairs, which wasn't listed in the advertisement. Again I feel lied to as the first salesman I contacted should have informed me of all of this prior to allowing me to book a test drive for a vehicle that's not road legal. Overall I'm very disappointed by freedom ford for not following through with their commitment in communication. They did not contact me I had to contact them. The original sales representative lied by omission of the truth about the vehicle I inquired about. The second sales representative I contacted contradicted what the first sales rep stated. Last Tuesday (July 5th, 2022), I visited Freedom Ford for the first time looking to purchase the 50th Anniversary 2020 Dodge Challenger. I saw it listed on Kijiji, and I wanted that particular edition. After working out some pricing details and test-driving the vehicle, I was still a little on the fence about the price. I was told if I put a deposit down on the car, it would be held for me until I decided. I put a deposit on the car, so I have time to think it over and the peace of mind that it wouldn't be sold. After taking the rest of the day to think it over, I returned the next day (Wednesday) and test-drove the vehicle again. At this point, I felt a lot more confident about this purchase and the deal I was getting. After working out all the details, I decide to go through with the purchase. I took the day to review my insurance and the pricing to make sure everything made sense. Come Thursday, I walked into the dealership ready to sign, and I was told that the vehicle had been sold because another party put a deposit down before I did. Very unfortunate, and I wish that the staff at Freedom Ford were more transparent about me being the second person to put a deposit down on that exact vehicle. Nevertheless, first come, first served. Saturday (July 9th, 2020), I received a call from Freedom Ford saying that the deal for the 50th Anniversary 2020 Dodge Challenger didn't end up going through with the other party. They (Freedom Ford) were wondering if I was still interested in the vehicle. I still had my deposit down, and I still wanted the car, so I said yes, and we discussed the details over the phone. Monday (July 11th), I walk into the dealership, and we go over the details in person. Again I test-drove the vehicle, and again I decided to go through with the purchase. Fast forward three hours, as I was waiting to sign the documents to purchase the car, I got called by one of the employees into an office for them to tell me that the car had been sold the day before (Sunday). I guess Freedom Ford overlooked my deposit (which was supposed to protect me from this situation) and decided to let me test drive someone else's car today. The reason I'm writing this review is because of the level of frustration I feel towards the lack of organization and transparency over at Freedom Ford. Choosing a car dealership to work with on a new or used vehicle purchase is not an overnight process. You want to know that the dealership you choose is trustworthy, reliable, and is looking out for you. While great products and a slick showroom are nice to see, the real value of a good dealership lies in its principles and how those play out in action. Great relationships are the foundation of any successful dealership. Two times I made a handshake deal, and two times, I got called to be informed that they were selling the vehicle to someone else regardless of my deposit. Wanted to let people know not to deal with Freedom Ford. I was looking for a used F150, they found me one signed a sales agreement, put deposit on truck, filled out loan application was approved. Received a bill of sale and planned to pick up truck on Sat. July 13. Received a call Sat. am to tell me they couldn't/woildn't honour our contract due to some internal mixup. While trying to resolve this problem they shipped truck to a BC buyer even though I have a bill of sale. Very dishonest , unscrupulous , how can they issue a second bill of sale on the vehicle ? On Monday I went in to the Edmonton Freedom Ford Dealership for a scheduled recall on my Ford Fusion (re. brakes). I was subsequently informed that they (both front desk agent and service manager) could not do the recall as my front and rear brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced for over $1000. They said that the brakes "were very dangerous and needed to be replaced before recall can be done." They asked me to sign a waiver acknowledging that they had told me this. I asked for the car back in order to get a second opinion which I did today at a company (Boyd's OK Tire) that my neighbor recommended. They said that my front brakes were at 6 which is totally acceptable and depending on how much the car is driven, I might check back in a year or two. They said that my back brakes were at 4 which is slightly below average but definitely not dangerous. Their recommendation was although not strictly necessary; I should consider changing my back brakes now and leave the front brakes until later. They said that they would be willing to talk to the dealership if necessary and did not want the dealership to take advantage of me. These back brake pads and rotors were replaced for $450. I immediately went back to the dealership and spoke to the Service Manager explaining the results of having visited Boyd's Ok Tire. He proceeded to say that both he and the technician were extremely worried about the condition of the brakes (especially the front ones). After revealing that the wheels had never been removed he offered to do this in order to confirm his assessment. I then asked how he could have made an assessment that the brakes were dangerous without having taken off the wheels. There was no response. Now I do not trust this dealership to do any work on my car. What do you call this? ...taking advantage of a woman? Bait and switch? Dishonesty? Whatever you call it, it shouldn't be happening and dealerships should be held accountable. read more

The service in the service department has suffered with the management change/shuffle. Upon purchase of a new vehicle I bought an extended service plan. Brought it in for only the second scheduled service and the service advisor was rude right off the bat. This quickly devolved into the advisor condescending to me and calling me stupid for forgetting the hub key for the tires. At only 15,000 km nothing needed to be done to my tires. It was 10 minutes of this before I left. When I picked it up, the behaviour continued. I called the service manager and explained what happened. She said she would investigate, then call me back. I never heard back. As a result I'll never ever go back. Absolutely terrible service. Last week (February 2019), took the same vehicle to a different dealership. Not only was I not called any names, the dealership gave me a free hub key. read more

These guys are DISHONEST. They took my deposit on an incoming 2022 King Ranch in Nov 2022. They continued advertising it which I thought strange. It was supposed to arrive Dec 7/2022. It arrived in January. No big deal things take time sometime I THOUGHT. I could never get the dealership to give me paperwork for the deposit or a window sticker. (I did manage as a condition of deposit to get confirmation of refundable deposit.) Lots of their correspondence was sketchy. On January 11th I made the 12 hour drive to go pick up my truck. On the way I noticed my truck STILL advertised & for $1500 less than they were making me pay AND it had 174 km on it so obviously they were letting people test drive my truck. I confirmed with the dealership I would be in the next day between 10 & 11am. The next morning I got a text around 9 am confirming I would be in to meet them. At 9:30 I received a call from a different salesman I had never talked to telling me that the truck had sold the evening before and there was no need to come in. Absolutely stunned. Now to get my deposit back. We literally fought the whole day with them to get it back. That's a whole 5 page story in itself. But the short version & bottom line is the weirdest thing is the General Manager (who is the shadiest of them all) ended up within minutes of closing because we refused to leave without a refund went down to the local 7-11 withdrew cash from a cash machine and finally returned my deposit In cash. I have literally never seen anything like this and never knew such lying and crookedness could be from a big business. read more

The mechanics are inept, the service department doesn't have a clue and they lie through there teeth. They tried to over charge me by $900 for 2 sensors to be replaced. I called a couple other dealerships when I thought that that price was high, told them what I was getting charged and they laughed their heads off. Avoid this place at all costs, they are thieves and would take candy from a crying baby if it meant they could make a few bucks. Horrid, period. read more

Stay away from servicing your vehicle here. I came in for simple repairs such as my seat not adjusting and a general inspection. They charged me to look at the seat and claimed that it needs a couple of parts to get it working. With the inspection they claimed to have found many problems such as burnt out bulbs and a radiator hose leak. I told them not to do anything as I wanted a second opinion or fix some of these problems myself. When I came to pick up the truck they tried to charge me an extra $110 on my bill and claimed it was an accident. I got my truck back and everything is working perfectly fine. The seat is working great and there is nothing broken. I guess just looking at it fixed the problem and their claims for new parts are bogus. There are no burn't out bulbs where they claimed. There are no radiator leaks and coolant level is perfectly fine. As far as I can tell I caught Freedom Ford tried to rob me and create bogus problems. read more

I was explicitly clear to the sales dude to quit calling me and that I was feeling harassed. After a continuation of calls I spoke with a manager who said he would take care of it and it wasn't. I did not want this sales rep to have access to my file. I'm escalating this to not just the GM but to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta who does a thorough review of companies who may be in violation. I will also have reviewed every member who accessed my file and how often and what was looked as I feel uncomfortable this person has such a personal interest. I will also be speaking with EPS to inquire on further steps to cease this harassment. read more

We made you try it and when we prepare the papers, you see the manager and a seller come to you to tell you: Sorry it's sold! But miraculously, they have another car for you, but more expensive. When you call 2 days later under another name, the car is always available. I show up again and panic on bord when you ask for explanations and the lie becomes their only way out. They lie to you like they breathe. They are thieves and scanners. Avoid this company. Not recommended at all costs. read more

We are trying to survive this terrible experience but it just keeps getting worse. Bought a brand new 2015 Ford Edge 13 months ago. A few months in the backup camera wasn't working right. After multiple visits and a full new camera system including wiring and one broken piece on install my camera works. Then I'm driving to school and my whole car powers down. Totally dead on Calgary Trail. No warning lights, no nothing! A piston broke and damaged the whole engine. I received no indication warning lights that there was anything wrong. Now I wait a month and get a whole new engine. After multiple conversations with management they come up with no compensation for our time wasted and stress for months of this vehicle in the shop. So as people with no other options we keep this lemon and hope for the best. Last week my backup camera isn't working again. We go in and they need to order a new part. Today I go into my hatch back and notice they have removed the hatch button. They forgot to replace it after inspecting the camera. What a nightmare. I can't even express how utterly disappointed we are. My business would be shut down if this happened in my industry. How come it's ok to just be stuck with vehicle. read more

I have to say that not only did i have a bad experience but i was lied to by David Gniazdowsky Sales Manager and Jonathan Gold Sales Person. I was also charged twice for GST I was charged GST on my trade in as well as charging me GST on the full retail value of the new vehicle my trade in was free and clear i owed nothing on it and was offered $32,600.00 for my trade in and then they took $1553.00 of GST of of the value of my trade in the retail value of the vehicle i bought was $44,952.25 this is what they charged me for GST $2246.60 and then charged me GST on the difference of $725.21 yet I should have only paid GST on the Difference between my trade in of $32,600 - $44952.25= $12352.25 instead they charged me $13905.25 as my difference so if you trade your vehicle in and you owe nothing remember that it is the same as cash down and it is to be removed before taxes not after. I would never recommend Freedom Ford to anyone because of the dishonesty and deception from David Gniazdowsky and Jonathan Gold You know my sales staff is not very good when they have to ask you to give them a five star review. lol read more

Stay away this dealership. FREEDOM dealership provided me with the WORST service and customer services experience in whole my life after dealing with different brands, Cadillac, BMW and TOYOTA. FREEDOM FORD is not only unreliable in finding fault and problem in your vehicle, but also GREEDY in charging extra labor cost for simpler work compared to other Dealerships. I purchased a pre-owned Ford Fusion couple weeks ago. Before purchasing, I asked "Team Ford" for a peace of mind inspection. Team Ford Diagnosed an small fault in vehicle and asked me No-Charge to fix it, since was under warranty. I made a horrible mistake to take my vehicle to "Freedom Ford" for fixing because it was just blocks a way my work place. After one day, Freedom Ford called me back and mentioned: "Unfortunately, every thing was FINE in your vehicle and you HAVE TO pay us 70$ for labor charge for Re-inspection". I responded back: Apparently one of the dealership are incompetent here, the other or you! BUT, If you were suspicious about their finding with visual inspection, why you did not get my permission for re-inspection charge? Freedom service department MANAGER responded: when we said we should verify this fault, that means I got your permission for additional charge!!! Moreover, I said: Teamford charged me with 70$ for total inspection of my vehicle, why you are charging me with the same labor for inspecting just one small piece? He just simply said: I shall pay 70$ to let me take my vehicle! They are just not only unreliable in finding fault and problem in your vehicle, but also GREEDY in charging extra labor cost for simpler work compared to other Dealerships. Horrible Experience ...
