That is a load of garbage. My wait time just to get my finger pricked was over an hour PAST my appointment time constantly.

The location was easy to find. The class was very informative and easy to understand. I loved using the baby and adult mannequins to practice CPR on and for using the AED machines. We had to wear masks and stay six feet apart from each other in the classroom. We were unable to practice on each other due to the Covid-19 pandemic precautions. Definitely, a class to remember!

A man helped me and treated me in an annoying way when he asked me what documents they needed. He gave me a form to read and answer questions (IN ENGLISH). I tried to use the translator because I didn't understand one word, and the man treated me in the worst possible way. I told him I spoke Spanish. He only excused himself by saying that no one at this center spoke Spanish, that I couldn't use the translator, that I couldn't donate if I didn't speak and understand English, and much less had a form in Spanish. I felt offended and humiliated. I know customer service is difficult, but if you're having a bad day, you shouldn't take it out on someone. It was a total act of racism on their part, especially when their website says they have people who speak Spanish.

No matter what I do- down a steak, chug a gallon of water, do a heavy work out before- my veins stay petite. Why the rest of my body can't stay petite like my veins idk but that's a conversation I have with the lord often. Her technique is unparalleled. She manages to relax me even though she's about to stab me, consensually. I will literally only see her. If she's not there I leave. I cannot tell you the amount of times my donation was incomplete because of my difficult veins and a bad stick got air in the bag. But it's never happened with her. She is so good. Please give her a raise. She's an icon and deserves it.

During our time there, only one donor completed their donation. As she left, her arm started bleeding profusely dripping down her arm and leaving a trail of blood all the way into the lobby before she noticed. Three donors were ahead of us waiting to begin the interview process, three were waiting on the beds to start their donation, and by the time we walked out, 8 people were waiting after checking in!!! This is unacceptable. I'll head into Nashville to the Charlotte Avenue location and be in and out in no time.

The staff was nice and friendly at first, until I got to the screening process, where I was…read moreinterrogated on the content I'd proceeded to read (about a 5 page one sided pamphlet) in about 5 minutes while fully comprehending what was being asked of me I went to turn in the pamphlet and move on to the screening process where I was rudely interrupted by another employee who told me there was no way I'd read this short pamphlet that quickly and comprehended it and forced me to sit down for another 15 minutes on top of the 40 minutes I was already waiting there for, to reread a pamphlet I'd thoroughly examined, only to bring me into the screening room to berate me for reading faster than the average person and proceeding to insult me and my comprehension skills in a backhanded manner forcing me to recite all the information page to page, until he asked me a random question about the chemical they use in the test tubes to preserve the plasma, the answers sodium citrate, however I'd said sodium chloride, you know not being a medical professional myself or nothing, I'd say that was a pretty good response when saline wasn't an accepted answer and the only information regarding the chemical compound in the pamphlet was a singular sentence that addressed the compound as NaCi to which I'd thought it was NaCl, only to turn me away for getting the answer to that question wrong, regardless, of the answer given the question was demeaning as if I was supposed to know their job in order to do my community a service and donate clean, untainted blood, and on top of all that, they didn't have hand sanitizer available in their automatic dispenser, only a bottle that I watched other people touching on, as well as a mice and insect trap right by the tablets they seat incoming donors at, this is a medical facility regardless of the area there is a sense of professionalism and cleanliness that should be the first priorities before anything and I felt as though I was not met with the level of respect that I'd been prepared to give them as professionals before I was publicly humiliated for understanding the instructions given to me at a faster rate than the regular person, also I asked other donors if they'd been interrogated over the content in a similar manner and not a single person was, only me. Id atleast like someone to be advised on better mannerisms the next time someone takes the time to come in seeking to donate blood, after all we are in a blood donation shortage in america and with customer service skills like that, I guarantee it will continue to stay that way.

However, they struggle with communication with clients in terms of wait times as you go through the process. An errand I used to have to just set aside an hour or so for now takes significantly longer, so I'm able to donate less often. I will stop making any and all attempts in the future. The staff also likes to let multiple people wait excessive amounts of time after they are completely finished to remove the needle from the donors arms while they discuss unimportant topics of conversation or play on their phones. Wish I didn't need the money so I wouldn't have to subject myself to the lack of care and proactivity expected of a medical facility I witnessed today.
