Freedom Car, with its sky-high prices, overcharged me and changed the quoted rate during the billing process. I was charged for 4 hours at $57/hour for a 2.5-hour trip I understood was to be charged at $50/hour (this included the driver's time back and forth to the office). When I objected, I was bounced from person to person at the company and told I was in the wrong because I had agreed to the charges when I received an estimate at booking. The company also claimed it had sent me an email detailing the charges, which it had not. As soon as I filed a complaint through my financial institution, the company offered to refund one hour at the $57 rate. The dispute is ongoing. This company may work for corporations and people on expense accounts when no one really cares about possible overcharges or for those who are attending an event and don't mind spending freely. However, I was referred to them by a surgical clinic serving mostly the elderly, some of whom may be using Medicare to pay for transportation. In that situation, their billing practices are really abhorrent. read more

5 Stars for great follow-up and communication, as well as a driver who was a delight! I needed to book a car from BWI to a retreat center out in Butler, Maryland (approx. a 35 minute drive). At first I called another service that was recommended by the center and looked a bit cheaper, but they answered with "Yeah?!" and I didn't get a professional vibe, so I checked out the reviews for other services in the area. FreedomCar was on the list of suggested car services and the Yelp reviews were top notch, so I tried them. I went on their website and filled out a request hoping I'd hear back soon. Within a few hours I had an email asking me for more information and giving me a direct line to the person helping me. She was friendly and get me all sorted out. Before my flight I checked my email and they had sent me a reminder with information about my pickup and who to call. Upon landing, I made my way to the pickup area and gave them a quick call to let them know what door I was at and within very little time a marked van pulled up and the Gregory loaded me in. The vehicle was handicap accessible, so I sat up front and we chatted the whole way. Gregory was such a pleasure and pointed out buildings and told me some history about different sites. By the end I was asking about his family and sharing stories. What a pleasant experience! As we pulled into the center, he walked my luggage in to make sure I was in the right spot and we waved goodbye.
