These are the people that mercy has greeting potential new patients. First impression was terrible. These ladies have no business working at a hospital and have no idea what common courtesy is and how to treat people. However, the nurses, techs, and Doctors were great. The bedding provided is just that: warm. Not only that, but these blankets are hardly more than cheap motel sheets. A healthcare center truly concerned about their patients' well-being would at the very least have thick, hot blankets available. In fact, I'm sure hot blanket escorts to and from the parking lot would greatly improve the patients' quality of life along with the staff taking care of them, notably during the cold winter months. It certainly would have improved my stay. 3/5, would settle for a slightly warm sheet again.

The nurses, techs- even housekeepers- have treated my father as though he is one of their own family members. Not a cliche... they are truly invested in the care and comfort of my dad. It's pretty special. Because of critical care bed availability at the hospital near him, he was transported almost 2 hours to Freeman where there was an available bed. While initially afraid to have him so far away... we now see what a blessing it is to have him at Freeman. I am beyond grateful for the staff here. (I'm looking at you, Neil!)

So many doctors offices and clinics have up their game with more friendly decor, artwork, calming colors and less institutional furniture. Great doctors and all, its just that I've been in a lot (far too many) doctors offices and clinics. So many of them just have made them more comfortable and friendly. I hope over time they decide to invest in some upgrades but keep the great doctors, nurses and staff.
