I showed them the corrosion before the work had even began and they said they would give it a try. (Battery is under seat which is just peachy). They said they were busy, so they might not get to it Monday. I asked when on Tuesday would be good, suggesting 3PM and that was "plenty of time." I called at 2:30 for an update and they said the technician wouldn't be able to work on it due to it being a safety issue. If the seat is unscrewed, obviously it would be dangerous. I told them to just remove the front two screws and it tips back (how I've changed the battery before). They said they would give it a try. I called back AGAIN at 6PM and they said, "Nope, still a safety issue and the tech was afraid he would bust the screw head off if he tried any harder." So, they jumped the car and I got it going. I went and bought the 10mm triple square bit and all the fixins to drill and reverse that screw out. Guess what? The screws came out easy, no issues. I think the real safety issue is they have someone working on vehicles who doesn't possess the strength to turn a ratchet. I would suggest that management require the person to perform a company mandated physical or an investigation. I'm concerned for the safety of an individual who is unable to provide a slight torque on a ratchet without fear of injury. This could be a sign of a serious medical condition, and I think Firestone needs to investigate the wrist and arm strength of this technician before they break their thin birdlike bones.

The part arrived within the window he quoted (2-3 hours), was installed without fuss, and the final bill was reasonable. What stood out as much as the technical work: he flagged a slow coolant leak and a minor oil leak -- this is an older car, so neither was a shock -- but there was no pressure to pile on services. He showed me rough estimates so I'd have them when I'm ready and left the decisions to me. That kind of straightforward, no-upsell approach is rarer than it should be. The waiting area is a genuine plus: free wifi, a table big enough to work at, and a small fridge with complimentary drinks, large TV. My one suggestion would be to add a coffee in the AM. Also, the door to the reception currently reads "B". Might want to avoid any confusion with better signage. Aamco took it for a drive and tested the transmission fluid and found that the fluid was very deteriorated but nothing else wrong. Changing the transmission fluid worked wonders-the car is now running smoother and much more responsive and powerful, even then the highway goes uphill (where it was sometimes having problems before- now it's maintaining speed and power and shifting to a higher gear as it should). They even offer local transportation when you drop off/pick up. Thank You Aamco! Highly recommend, will come here for all maintenance.

When we picked it up they said "it's in great shape and just needed the coolant line replaced." I drove it off the lot and noticed the air wasn't getting cool. 2 days later, the AC went out completely. We brought it to a different shop and they pulled out the cabin filter which was entirely black and clogged (pictures uploaded). In addition to that, the Freon line had been sprayed at Walton's and had a microscopic hole. The new auto shop said "there's no way they missed this." We called, to obviously voice concerns about the cabin filter not being checked when we asked for an entire overhaul... they said "we never brought it over to our services side"... I'm not sure why they wouldn't do that. I'm incredibly disappointed in the service we were given at this shop. We were told "it's unfortunate timing and a coincidence" it's ABSOLUTELY NOT. It's bad business. I will NEVER return and I will recommend that people do NOT go here ever again. I'm confused and frustrated... come to find out they don't even check transmissions or engines at this shop!! Which was never disclosed to us.
