    Small popcorn, Red Bull vodka

My sister and I came here for a comedy show and got a red bull vodka and a small popcorn. This popcorn is literally horrible lol. Also the Red Bull vodka is literally $20. Be better.

Nostalgia drips from the ceiling and walls of this well maintained theater. So much murals, decorations and curtains to spot. It seems the first set of front rows were standard, movable chairs. Behind it were the familiar fold up stationary velvet padded chairs. I was invited to a concert and the sound system was great and the stage standard. I was lucky no one was seated in front of me in those beginning row seats. It seems to slope up behind those movable chairs rows, so one might be farther from the stage but get a higher-up view of the stage.

Beautifully restored theater that has seating and up front standing room for general admission shows. Friendly door and concessions staff. And there are a few parking structures and street parking nearby. I love venues like this because they remind me of the legendary Filmore East but more up to date. I'm looking forward to seeing more shows there!

The Fremont really ads character to downtown SLO. I love the bright colorful neon lights at night. My friends and I attended a concert here and had the best time. The venue is much larger that I thought it'd be. Movie theatre seating and a pretty big stage. The security working that night were super cool and chill. Enforced the rules without killing the vibe. Much appreciated. Concessions was alright, and they had a small bar. BATHROOM HACK for women since our bathrooms always have a line - next to the men's restroom there's a slightly hidden all gender bathroom. That one stayed empty after the concert.. probably because it's hidden! Why not 5 stars? Feels pretty old and dusty inside. A new paint job and carpets would go a long way.

Excellent venue for films, concerts, and special events. I was there for the SLO Film Fest & was impressed by the beautiful blue & pink glowing deco exterior & ceiling. Props to them for not converting the original historic 1941 theatre into a multiplex. The Fremont is conveniently located downtown, plenty of free street parking. I'm guessing there are 800 seats, as there's no info on their website.

Great theater with a long history!

The Fremont Theater is iconic in San Luis Obispo and a treasured piece of history. Back when they discontinued showing movies here, a big debate ensued and the deciding vote was to keep it part of SLO's rich culture and local entertainment. Since its inception, it was a valued piece of art onto itself. The acoustics are surprisingly really good, even better than many large theaters with name acts in Los Angeles County. Super excited to see Demetri Martin, such a prized comedian! He tends to tour much larger venues, so he and his team must also be privy to this community's charmed theater. Drinks, alcoholic and sodas and popcorn for sale to bring into the theater; no outside food allowed, of course. Come, relax, and enjoy this relic while you watch your favorite entertainers!

Great time at the Fremont Theatre last night. We saw Keb Mo, Blues & they were fabulous. Terrific music - took me back home. Beautiful lighting. Bravo. Super acoustics. And we danced! Yay! Packed house, no proof of vaccination required. Clean theatre, restrooms too. Attendants in aisles with flashlights for secure walkways to & from seats. Looked like tasty refreshments (we didn't partake) & I love that you can take your drink into the theatre. Fun night! So good to attend a music event again.

The best venue to house bands here in the five plus cities, honestly!! The sound was good--drinks were pricey and had loads of filler sweet juice and not enough booze to balance out cocktail. Employees were super nice and helpful. Will return.

Ask the Community - Fremont Theater

    Are kids allowed into concerts?

It depends on the show. Age restrictions are set by the show promoters, not the theater. You should call and ask specifically about the show in which you're interested.

Is there a barricade (photo pit) at this venue?

Ian, I don't think there is a 'barricade' photo 'pit' at this venue.

Then waited until 8:30 for the movie to start. It started right on time. Some people drove in at 8:25 to find spots which was annoying because they didn't turn their lights off and they took extremely long to park. But besides the smell of car exhaust here and there, it was fantastic. The radio worked exceptionally well at making the experience feel like we were at a movie theater. I brought my 4-year-old son to see Toy Story 5. While carrying him from the concession stand, he accidentally dropped his hot dog bun onto the ground before we could even make it back to our car. When I went back inside to request a replacement bun, an employee nepotistic "grandchild" named Brian informed me that I would be charged for it again. When I questioned being charged for just a bun under the circumstances, Brian became visibly hostile. He complained that he "did not like that I expected it for free." He then stated he would issue a refund instead, explicitly saying he was doing so because he "didn't like that I expected something." This logic made absolutely no sense. I pointed out how counterproductive it was to issue a full refund just so I could immediately repurchase the item, especially while my son was crying in the car waiting for his food. Brian forced the refund through anyway and made me repurchase the item. To make matters worse, when I asked for the name of his grandfather "manager"so I could report the incident, Brian flatly refused to give it to me. This is why, sometimes family isn't the best way forward when filling critical roles within companies, especially the customer facing ones.
