For non "sold out" shows you'll be getting abbreviated performances or performances will be removed entirely.

After my older daughter saw the "Wheel of Destiny" or also known as the "Wheel of Death" performed at a previous Circus Vargas show in San Luis Obispo and couldn't stop talking about it, my younger daughter really wanted to go see it so we bought tickets for a Friday 4PM show. The show was roughly a third full and for some reason they decided to not perform the "Wheel of Death". I immediately told my daughter that they must have been sick which is why we didn't get to see it performed. Of course at the end of the show we performers who perform the "Wheel of Death" get introduced and they take a bow - even though they DIDN'T PERFORM. Of course we find out later that at the more well attended show later on they performed it (as well as the night prior). Pretty awful experience trying to explain to a kid why they didn't perform the headlining act...

Great show! Diane was super nice.and runs a good show. Thanks for coming to SLO. Family loved it

Parking by the entrance is $10.00. If you don't mind walking, park by the restaurant or across the street at Ralph's. They have the usual food and drinks you'll find at a circus but no alcohol. When I bought the tickets online, it didn't show where the posts are located. Lucky me was sitting right in front of one. The venue is pretty small so any seat ( besides the ones by the exits) are good seats. The show itself was entertaining and a bit cheesy (a stuffed tiger in a cage and a needless storyline). There is a clown but bears no resemblance to Pennywise or John Wayne Gacy, so if coulrophobia is your gig, no worries ( just don't look at the clown mugs).

A surreal but sobering show. I was amazed. What stars! Incredible talent. Definitely come out and support the show. The bmx bikers were wild. 10/10 super awesome event

    Sphere with 3 motorcyclists

Excellent family show! Highly recommended. Watched show on May 14, 2023 at the Laguna Hills Mall Park and Ride location. Entertainers kept audience attention for 2 1/2 hours with a 20 min break. Some of performance includes 3 motorcyclists riding in a cicular sphere, a large wheel with 2 performers spinning it, balancing act that will make your jaw drop and other gymnist oriented acts to name a few. This animal free show is recommended for the entire family!

Say yes to the menu!!! That's the first thing that came to my mind when I visited Novo in SLO. Once…read moreupon a time, I saw this restaurant be featured on the iconic Check Please, so needless to say the award winning food speaks for itself and I was ready for this experience. I came into Novo with high expectations and my expectations were exceeded. Calamari: Who doesn't want Calamari on the Central Coast, for me it's a must. But can we take a moment to complement the sauces they pair with the calamari. Novo's calamari is paired with a tartar sauce and a sweet chili sauce. Definitely a first experience for me and I was beyond impressed. My taste buds danced because, whoever, is out here making many and flavor pairings for Novo has unlocked a new game mode for me. If you ever are wondering what appetizer to try, this right here is my first recommendation. Blackberry Ginger Cooler: The mocktail was beautiful and also a great pairing. I would love to try their other drinks soon. Matcha Strawberry Trifle: My mom, sisters, and I agreed on this dessert and let me tell you, I'm so glad we did. The matcha trifle had so much goodness to it we spent time trying to guess what flavors were in its profile. Think a berry chantilly from Whole Foods, but with matcha flavor and so fresh! Immediately after finishing my little sister said I had to learn to make this specific dessert and needless to say I don't disagree. It was balanced in sweetness, very light, and a great summer dessert. King Salmon: 2 please! The king salmon comes with Tabbouleh and green beans. This dish was my mom's and she was very pleased. One part of food I enjoy is not just the eating and experience, it's the aspect of reminisce in the flavors, analysis of the cooking, and trying to gauge cooking technique. For this dish, the salmon was perfectly cooked and it is not what we expected in the best way possible. This dish had so many different flavor profiles and wait until you taste the added kick of wasabi. Can I get another round? Korean Short Ribs: When I first saw this on the menu I was struck with asking myself how this dish might taste. It was one of those dishes where I thought, I have had plenty of short rib, I have had kimchi, but I have never seen them on one plate. More than that, I was hesitant as I like kimchi but not my to go to choice, nonetheless, I was drawn to this dish so of course I ordered it. Wow! Was I glad I did. My sister had the same order and we agreed the kimchi had such a nice kick to it. The spare rib was also thinly sliced making this dish easy and yummy. Now don't let that kick of heat scare you, I encourage everyone to try this dish. The rice sort of acts as a contrasting agent to help tone down the flavor and you just have to try it all together. All that said, I think service was awesome, then again SLO is a beautiful heart in California. But seriously we had an awesome waiter who shared with me the history of the restaurant. The story is also on their menu, but Nova's little sister restaurant is Red Luna and the big sister restaurant is Robin's Restaurant in Cambria. So good to know because I can now see how all this deliciousness connects! Big fan of these places and it's great to know they are one family. I don't think I have a favorite sibling of the three, but here's to another 5 stars for the middle child.

On arrival, my service dog was heeling calmly and under full control while the bouncer spoke with us. Despite this, I was told I could not enter because the establishment downstairs had previously had "an incident" with a different service animal. Denying access based on a past experience with another dog is not lawful. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, service animals may only be excluded if that specific animal is out of control or not housebroken--neither of which applied here. My dog was behaving impeccably and performing their trained tasks. Loudness, past incidents, or personal assumptions are not valid reasons to refuse a service animal. This was not a misunderstanding--it was a refusal of access based on disability. I hope management educates their staff on ADA compliance so future disabled patrons are not treated this way. I will not be spending my money here and urge others to do the same based on their discriminatory behavior.

One of the concerts in the San Luis Obispo Mission was simulcast free outdoors to the Mission Plaza amphitheater. People brought babies, children. It did get cold, some folks were not prepared for that. But Scott Yoo, the conductor and musical director, is excellent at explaining things to look for in the music coming up, funny and he had the orchestra demonstrate short examples. Sound was good outside too. Last night in the great art deco theater (Fremont) was a jazzy night with silent movies accompanied by strings and a piano. The pianist had I think arranged the whole thing, which was so fun, they got a standing ovation. I think these days all the musicians are from out of town, likely most from Los Angeles, but in any case, they are first rate. Concerts are not cheap, but with a few free ones in the mix such as the rehearsal on the last day for the big ending concert, at least some of it is possible for any pocketbook.
