The nail technician was friendly and did my dip manicure well. BUT she cut me twice (small amounts of blood was visible) and she didn't fix 2 nails I felt didn't match the others. She said those 2 nails had a natural curve that she couldn't fix....i have been getting dip for 2 years at a different salon and have never had this issue. All of this was not why I was extremely irritated. She remedied these issue by making it a point to not allow a tip. It has now been 12hrs since I got my nails done and I have chips/bubbles, it's some type of lighter circles on my nails that I have never seen before. This place is aesthetically pleasing however the quality of their products are very poor and damaging to nail health. They are using MMA acrylic which is illegal. Their acrylic has a strong metallic / metal smell. The so called "primer" used is simply top coat. Nail primer is used to dry out the nail oils and dries down similar to rubbing alcohol yet the primer used at French is glossy and sticky. Now let's get into my service. The tech attempted to remove my previous nails (some were glued down from lifting) by sliding a new nail tip under the acrylic (very damaging). Thankfully I stopped her but I don't understand why she would attempt when I asked for a SOAK OFF. Lastly she tried clipping my nails down after seeing I have extra skin under my nail beds which caused me to bleed which she tried to hide from me. She also nik'd me with the drill. All and all I would not suggest this place. To top it off they have no customer service, they were not rude but they did not greet any of their customers and literally did not speak one word to anyone. Amy the manager does a good technical job but she is clearly annoyed and unfriendly. I have come here for months and she acts like it is the first tome she has seen me on today's visit. I don't need the attitude for $80. She also "could not" remove the calluses on my heels and told me to buy and use the metal grater which I don't like using. I asked if she could use the liquid callus remover and she said no. When done, she said, "You're done" and left the area, leaving me there to remove the foam and slip ons from my feet. I was a regular here for 2+years, loved it and told everyone about it! No-chips lasted 4 weeks. However, over time the service/quality has gone down. They are hiring new techs, likely friends, who I don't believe are licensed. If you get the owner or the 2nd top person you are good to go. I went in a month ago, and the girl cut me 4 times. I stopped her several times to tell her to not dig as deep...after 45 minutes, of torture I got up and left without finishing. I'm so disappointed! read more

New to the area and new client. Got a mani and pedi. Location is very nice and only 3 months old. I thought I would be a regular when I walked in but after getting my feet done, will not be back. The technician cut my big toe enough where I yelped and she said she was almost done. That cut turned into a badly infected toe that got inflamed and pus. Had my daughter, a PA, take a look at it and clean it out and treated it. Could not wear the shoes at a wedding I had that weekend. She never apologized and I will not be back. read more

it doesn't even worth it for $40!! i called them and i asked them if they are doing acrylics fill in or not. and they said yes they are doing acrylic and when i got there i told them if i wanna doing acrylic fill in but they didn't do acrylic at all, they put the gel fill in. and first i asked them to make french nails but the results didn't look like french nails at all, well she even blamed me because i don't wanna make new set so that's why looks not natural. and she ended up change french nails to this colore and i thought she gonna clean the french and gonna make new color, and she just put another color on the top of french. well the result no soft at all. it's bumpy!!!!! they even ruined my almonds shapes!!! it doesn't looks like almond, more than like stupid rounds. don't waste your money to come here. they are new and they know nothing about nails. read more

They gave me options and helped me repair my nails and I haven't gone to another salon ever since! Drove to Schaumburg for a lunch date with my girl friends. After lunch, we passed by this nail salon and thought it would be an awesome idea to continue our lunch conversation here. Walked in - greeted immediately. ----PLUS! Was indecisive about which color to put on - the lady working there asked me which colors I liked. Then she suggested the CUTEST color combination! This was the second place I went to and it was by complete accident, I thought I was entering Nails ETC because they are so close to each other. The boy who did my pedicure had to be about 15 and took FOREVER. I was in pain after sitting in the chair for a while. He did not scrub my feet well, did not clean out my toes well (I know, sounds gross, but I am used to technicians really cleaning each nail with tools)... He basically just soaked my feet and put a hot towel on them. Then it took him a really long time to put my polish on. Once I was done he tells me that he can't do my nails cause it took so long to do my feet (about 75 mins). And his excuse for taking so long? He wasn't used to the color that I picked out--oh whatever. I guess he tried to make up for it because he gave me a card to come in for a manicure for a lower price. I didn't want a manicure, I needed my nails filled, so I did not go back. And I didn't feel like paying $25 to get my acrylic nails filled. I guess the one nice thing about the place is that it was clean and smelled nice, but not enough for me to go back. read more

It only took one visit to French Nails and I stopped going to other salons. I have regularly gotten mani/pedis every few weeks for years at other salons in the area. On my first visit Hanna took the polish off my toes and told me there was an infection on one toe nail and told me how to take care of it. Not one other salon told me I had an issue, and I appreciated that she takes pride in her profession and does not just take polish off and put polish on but serves as an expert in nail care. French Nails is part of a hair salon, and she is the only person doing nails so it is best to call and make an appointment. I work weekdays and she is very good at agreeing to whatever time I am available, even if it means she has to stay late or come in early. The people in the hair salon are all very friendly too, I notice they have a lot of regular patrons so they must be doing something right also.
