This is the third and final time I'm giving this place a try. I came in Saturday afternoon (3:30pm) for a regular mani pedi in preparation for my bridal shower that was yesterday at 10:30am. After waiting 30 minutes for a technician, soaking my feet in a tub that was lined with plastic, with particles of plastic floating around in the tub, I was greeted. I was very lightly scrubbed with the micro planer and I was given a pedicure. It's fine, nothing to write home about. BUT The place is crazy crazy disgusting. Seriously - none of the tools were sanitized (including nail files, buffers, clippers). The sink to wash your hands is right next to a tub of hot wax, next to a back up generator and someone's lunch. Toe separators and shoes were to be re-used. The place is covered in dust from the acrylics. Obviously the tub is disgusting. The manicure took 45 minutes. It started to develop bubbles within minutes of getting under the drying lamps and the nails started to chip yesterday morning. Less than two days later, the nails have completely chipped off. I spent $35 for the mani pedi, plus a 10 dollar tip. For a chipped nail job that didn't even last. Stay away but if you want to worry about contracting a flesh eating parasite, this is the place for you. read more

I am beyond up set first I would like you to look at what I asked for and what I got. When I got there I waiting over 30+ min for someone to start on my nails when they started on my nails the guy who was doing them drilled the bottom of my fingers tip and cut me in two fingers not only that but I asked for long nails he kept making them smaller and smaller he told ohh it's not me it's the drill then he continued me being mad already I said nothing he continued to do the nails as he is doing them he then goes on to say ohh I have no time to do the ombré after he already had done them all black at this point Lilly the owner had already started on my sisters nails her nails are just a mess they are different in size and they are not evenly painted the polish this morning when I woke up the the clear coat has bubbles in it it's ridiculous we paid 55$ each my sister friend was also with us and she also was cut and had her finger drilled at they are so thin when she went to open the car door a nail broke off we woke up with hurting finger tips this morning and I will be calling to demand a refund to this service I now have to go somewhere else where I can get them done correctly that is if I can even handle the pain we are already in from the service they did I'm beyond upset I had never been here but this place is a total disaster I am never going there again I drove over 34 min just to get there and get the ugliest nails in my life I'm very upset and on top off that they close at 6 they finished out nails by 8:30 mins you we got there at 5 pm the mall was already closed and I had to wait over 30+ min for security to go open the door for me to get out this is just not ok I'm not recommending this place to no body go any where else but here they are scammers in what they do if I could give this place a big fat 0 I would they were in such a rush to get us out and didn't care for what we asked I'm just very upset and I hope my sister, her friend, and I can get a refund and we will be going somewhere else to get them done correctly I am just beyond disappointed because if the couldn't offer us the service we asked for they should of just said so we spend 160$ in total on some nails we hate we can't enjoy and look like a kid did them it's beyond ridiculous if there part to do this it's not ok for them to offer a service and do it so wrong. I walked in and was ignored and the lady asked the person who walked in about 10 seconds after me if she could be helped, THEN asked me. So that was off-putting, to say the least. I got a full set and asked for my nails to be short, since I type on a keyboard all day. She ignored my request to shorten them and said she would after. Well she never did. It's my fault for not speaking up more but I don't feel like I should have to repeat myself more than twice asking for shorter nails. Even typing this now it's frustrating because they are wayyy too long! Service felt rushed. The lady also upsold the full set--the wall says they start at $45, I was charged $60...I got a no chip polish but I dont see how that costs an extra $15. The place was also very unsanitary; dust everywhere, tools didn't come out of the sanitizing pouches...I really hope I don't get an infection. I needed to get my nails done because I have a wedding to go to this Saturday so that's why I went here in the mall but next time I'll be sure to spend my time and money at a place that actually is worth it. 1) Ill start with the craziest part. I got a pedicure. I was wearing the foam slippers when my niece and I decided to leave. So we said goodbye and started to go, Lily (the shop owner who was mad from earlier events) then yelled and chased after us that I could not keep the ten cent slippers, I have never heard of this. She then bent down to grab them to which I jumped back, I was in shock. I asked if she was going to reuse them and she said yes (disgusting) she then BENT DOWN AND SNATCHED THEM FROM BETWEEN MY TOES. No, I am not joking. I was in shock. 2) as you can see by the pictures my acrylics were horrible. I needed a fill in the second I left and she painted my SKIN, anyone elses one year old can do better. Not to mention, Lily the OWNER is the one that did them............The pictures speak for themselves. 3) My niece also got acrylics the price on the wall was about 35$, tell me how lily tried to tell her it was going to be 80$ when my niece confronted her with the prices ON THE WALL, lily got pissed and said "I guess ill give you a discount" HUH????? overall I would avoid this place. I'm here in town only for a couple of days and needed to get my nails done. I like my nails to look natural, Cindy did a great job! Too bad I live in Virginia!!! ***$45 is worth the price for nails that don't chip and last 3-4 weeks. Not to be confused with shellac or gel (no chip). This run down nail chop shop next to Nordstrom is old as dirt and super ghetto, but I am fascinated by the fact that my OPI pedicure has lasted for 5 plus weeks and counting with no signs of chipping. In these past 5 weeks, I've walked barefoot on sandy beaches, tottered around in pointy high heels in concrete cities, ran a bunch and wore sandals constantly. Most pedis last about 2 weeks for me under those high foot stress conditions, so 5+ weeks is unheard of and a virtual miracle. The ladies here are funny if you engage them, but I'm still not allowing them to use a Microplane cheese grater (!!!?!) on my heels. When I come back I'll need to close my eyes when other girls let the nail techs Microplane them though (shudder). Walked out of Nordstrom's and saw them, so decided to get a badly needed Spa M/P. Should have known the place was sketchy by the worn down decor... and the receptionist (male) with the 3" long white hairs sprouting from a giant cheek mole. EEEK!!! Despite my initial skepticism, I allowed myself to be tugged into the place, and sat down in front of a odd character with thinning hair, wearing Jersey-shorish gear... who proceeded to poke my toenails with EQ and file nonchalantly while making them split by sawing back n forth with a metal file. Uhh, I have NEVER had to vocalize that I was being poked, and to file a certain way. This guy was SO WRONG, I corrected him 3 times on the pain, the sawing, the sound of splitting squeaking nails, AND the shaping / filing... He only seemed to get that I was NOT HAPPY when I pulled my feet to my waist for a closer look, and asked for the Manager. I stopped in for a manicure and pedicure with regular polish. They didn't like the fact that I didn't want no chip so they made me miserable. After a 1 hour pedicure because she kept walking away! I told her I had to get back to work. At that point I agreed to no chip witch bye the way is the worst thing you can do to your nails. She actually used the little drill they use on fake nails for my cuticles, no cream at all. It took me 5 hours to get the polish off with minimal damage and now because of the drill she used I had a deep dent in my nail and they are very thin. NOT SANITARY!! SLOPPY! They were open on July 4th so I decided to try them. No plastic covers on the pedi bowls. I asked if they clean with bleach and they put a plastic cover on. Tools were in a plastic bucket that they would bring out, there was an autoclave there but only saw my Mani tools come out of it in a paper towel. NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS DISGUSTING FLEA BAG OF A SO CALLED NAIL SALON! I went to get my nails done, full set/oval shaped. I show the shop owner Lilly who sits in the front desk what I want she says no problem. She was so consumed with every person walking past her shop trying to convince people to get their nails done, it took her over an hour to complete my nails. The majority of the nails were crooked, and when she began to paint my nails she completely did her own thing vs what I showed her and asked her to do. On the middle of her painting my nails I cleaely stated for her to referr to the picture as this is not what I want, she gave me every reason under the sun why it could not be done, and bringing up gel vs acrylic vs dip and this is an ombre design...it got so dragged out to the point I was running out of time and just told her to paint the entire nail. She had the audacity to them ask me if I like my nails! I told her absolutely not, this is the worst job I've ever had done on my nails. She began to tell me why she did not do what I asked her to do. I told her you are misunderstanding what I am saying, this is what I want...showed the pic again..and then showed her my nails (to show her this is what she did.) I told her do whatever METHOD (dip,gel acrylic) to get the design correct. She stated clear as day she didnt do it because the dip cost more. I told her that is none of her business to judge me, based on what she THINKS I have in my pocket..especially to end up with the shittiest nails of all time! To start off the water was cold,their tools are unsanitary, they have horrible service as making my friend wait for 30 minutes before starting with her and they barley started on me in that 30 minutes. All the colors were old and looked expired. I went in for a pedicure and a gel mani and they started filing my pedicure and a layer of my toe nail came off. I ended up thinking of a way to get out of there and we did before they could even paint my toes and do anything horrible to my finger nails. I went here for YEARS in my early twenties. I finally decided to go back, since I never had a problem in the past. I sat at #3. She didn't understand a thing I said. I have an almond shape to my nails, she kept messing one up and rounded it. I told her I DID NOT want my nail rounded, but she kept rounding it! I literally picked up the nail file and did it myself. She also burned me and tried to some kind of excuse, which I didn't understand. My right thumb is completely wonky. Stopped in here for a pedi after work once when I worked at Woodfield. Admittedly, I was a walk-in, but I didn't mind waiting. I stood off to the side and watched the tech "clean" the basin of the pedicure chair when she finished with the previous client. I use quotations around "clean" because an obviously dirty sponge was used with no cleaning product. When I asked about cleaning it better, I was given a dirty look. The tech then talked to her co-workers in a not-so-nice tone in another language that I didn't understand, but brought more dirty looks my way. She then grabbed a rusty old can of some cleaning spray from the ledge behind the chair and sprayed the basin to re-wipe with the dirty sponge. I have to be totally honest, I have no idea why this place is rated so low... I've gone to just about every nail place in the Schaumburg/Hoffman area including all of the ones in the mall. I had started going to the ones in the mall out of convenience when I worked in the mall and could get a fill on my lunch break. When I didn't work in the mall anymore I "shopped around" for local places so I wouldn't have to deal with mall traffic and parking just to get my nails filled every two weeks. After seeing what's out here I'm once again devoted to this place... They're not overly friendly or anything (not like any nail techs are) but they can always squeeze me in, they're SO fast, and my nails always look fantastic. I love when I don't have to sacrifice quality for speed. The whole staff knows me there since I've been going there off and on for years. Every two weeks I get a fill on my pink and white gel nails, a pedicure, and a brow wax. Quite possibly my favorite part about this place is that no matter who is available to do my nails they always look great, I never get nervous that I might get someone who's not as good as someone else. Vinnie, Tan, and Tido are the best in my opinion, all very fast and good attention to detail. Her phone kept ringing during my manicure and she would actually pick it up. Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't that a little unprofessional? There were only 4 people working when I came in here. SO UNSANITARY!!!! The tools they use don't come from those sanitation pouches. Can I give it 0? My friend and I went in there for a no chip manicure. The place is DIRTY and not that friendly. It does not have proper ventilation, therefore if you dont want to inhale all the fumes - STAY AWAY! My no-chip ... that's another story. Manicure was sloppy, done super fast to rush me out of there and the color is almost see through. I was never asked if I like it or should they do another coat! I had a wedding on Friday of Thanksgiving week, so the only day I could get my nails done was Monday evening. My usual nail salon, Hot Nails on Meacham, is closed on Mondays, so I did a search for a comparable salon that does dipping powder manicures. I had been to Pro Nails a couple years ago and had even had my nails done there for my wedding, so I was fine with it. However, it sound like this place has recently changed ownership and their best technicians now work at a different salon in the mall (I heard another customer talking to her nail tech about it). When I first walked in there was no wait and the lady at the front asked if I had been there before. I said that I only get my nails done for special occasions and she kept saying repeatedly that I need to come back. My nail tech was an older man who seemed a little confused by all the different polish bottles needed for a dip manicure. He emptied some of the dip color powder into a small shot glass before we started, which I liked because it's more sanitary...but then dumped the remnants of the shot glass back into the jar after so it was really pointless. He also took off too much color with the drill and left a white spot on my nail. When I pointed it out he fixed it, but again seemed confused about which polishes to use in what order. I did end up leaving the salon satisfied, although the price was nearly $10 more than my usual salon. 3 days later I noticed a large chip in my thumbnail. I have short nails and am not really hard on my nails, and am used to having a dip manicure last 2-3 weeks. Since it was Thanksgiving I filled in the chip with a regular nail polish I had in a similar color. The next night, just before the wedding, I noticed small hairline cracks on several of my nails, mostly along the corners. It's almost like the top coat was made of glass. For the price I paid, I had really hoped this manicure would have lasted more than 5 days. I won't be returning. read more

I work in the mall and went for a mani/pedi on my lunch break, which I've done a couple of times. The pedicure took so long and I didn't have time to get the manicure, which I had already paid for and indicated was my priority if they only had time for one service. We arranged that I'd come back the next day between 4pm-5pm for the manicure. When I showed up she told me to come back at 5:30, which was not an option since I was on my lunch break. When I sat in the pedicure chair and started reading the reviews on here I was mortified and scared; I wanted to get up and leave, but I stuck it out. This older, nice, woman did my pedicure. She took a little over an hour and another woman had to do the nail painting. I loved the extra care and attention, but that was a long time to be sitting quiet, in a chair, on my own. :/ What I DIDN'T love was having to pick out 3 different sets of colors for my toes because all their nail polish had so much thinner in them, that NONE of the colors (China Glaze & OPI) showed up. According to the lady who painted my toes the colors were, "too thin, needs third coat, pick other color". Well, maybe you should throw away all your over-used, thinned out, polishes instead of wasting your customer's time :). Next came the No Chip. ONLY $30, not a bad price AT ALL!! By the time I sat in the chair it was 20 minutes till closing time. The lady cut my cuticle, it's been days and it still rips open and bleeds. :( The color is gorgeous, but my bleeding and shredded cuticles ARE NOT! Idk if she just rushed through, or cut them incorrectly, but my cuticles are shredding halfway up to my first knuckle. (I have never had this happen before, it is SO ugly) :'( I would probably come back here again (specifically for the NO CHIP since it's SO cheap), but I would definitely need a different Pedi (for time reasons ONLY). This review started with 4 stars, but as I remembered my experience the stars kept disappearing. I got the French no chip manicure and a pedicure. I usually destroy manicures minutes after getting them, but not the one I got here. Minutes after leaving it didn't even get messed up after being scraped on a jeans zipper. It was perfect for at least a week (I took it off for unrelated reasons). The staff were attentive and courteous. They also didn't didn't sit there talking in their native language to each other while working on your nails, which I find to be rude and annoying. I went there today for just a polish change on hands and feet. I left and mess up one toe. I paid 32.00 including tip. I came back and lady in front asked what did I need. I was a little shock because I was there less than an hour ago. Well I processed to explain to her that I messed up one toe and I needed it repaired. She said no too busy and for me to get the polish and do it myself. I said no because I will mess up it more and that I'm willing to pay the cost for the one toe and I will wait. She said no we don't have time. During me talking to her so spoke in her language to the other workers which I thought was rude. I left and came back and asked to speak to the manager and she said she was the owner. I informed her that it was not right that I was a paying customer and was willing to pay again. I have been there several times and never had a issue but today showed me how much they care about their customers. She than wanted to say ok get color I will do it but not until other customers was looking and listening. I've been going here for a few months now but recently made a change. My nails continually looked awful after just a week. Can't seem to continually pay $40 each time I go in, when I'm having to repay for broken nails that should have lasted weeks and the place is just dirty. Takes two seconds to wipe down your area, yet every time I walk in everyone is too busy on their iPads/Phones. I came in with my daughter and first thing, my daughter was asking if they have a certain color, they both looked at her & said absolutely nothing. both the people that did our nails were so rude, so rough & impolite. She didn't listen to what I want at all & the guy that did my daughters nails gave her a rough time. I will not be coming back. The lady did not listen to anything I was telling her to do.
