Owner harasses people by putting notes on cars claiming you can't park there and also that you can't overnight park even when you don't overnight park. On the note he puts management like he owns the entire parking lot. The lot says for customers of the businesses. I was there early to wait in line for small business Saturday but not overnight. I had disc brakes installed at Frenchies and went to ride I had no stopping on the brakes as I almost hit a car. I called them they told me to bring it in and they didn't even make an attempt to fix issue on brakes. They did tell me that my disc brakes old need to be replace which was $300.00 for front and back brakes and not being charge for pads. I will never do business with them read more

Went into Frenchies and from the first moments we entered the shop was met with all three. You could tell these gentlemen knew what they were talking about as and had a sense of humor as well. Within minutes I had the bicycle I wanted. The price was fair and he showed me how to use it without any judgement. Took my new bike in because I locked my hydraulic brakes and asked them to take a look to see that everything was working well. They charged me $95 and I ended up having to adjust my own derailleur since they managed to screw the factory setting up and my chain kept jumping on the low COGs. Didn't even bother to look if my wheel was true! Complete scam of a service. It's no wonder why every other bike shop has bikes lined up for service while their empty. The owner can be a bit of a jerk. Not sure what his deal is but he can be rude and seems to have a habit of making slick comments. As I was walking out of the door, he randomly tells me (out of nowhere) that my bike will ride like a truck with those big tires and if I got it for the road I got the wrong bike...it's a higher end mountain bike with 2.6 inch tires. I went to this bike shop because I had a flat tire near there and the owner started saying that my bike was too heavy and that it was difficult to fix it. Obviously, the owner was in a bad mood, scolding and yelling at the two employees there. Anyway, what I want to say is that this is the last time I go to that store. To make a long story short, they charged me $156...yes, one hundred fifty-six dollars! to change the rubber tube that had caught a nail. It seemed incredible to me what he was charging me but I had no other alternative and he knew it. That was an assault and taking advantage of the need of a responsible person like me. I do not recommend nor will I ever return to this store because they are dishonest people and do not care about customers. After that, I went to another bicycle place and asked how much they will charge me and they told me between $30 to $40. I found out myself that the tube cost only between $10 and $15. read more

I brought my daughter for riding lessons. He started late and chiseled time off the end and still charged the same rate. She picked up terrible habits; he taught her to get started by ground walking before taking off (Think of Fred Flintstone) and we finally (now that things are starting to return after Covid) have new lessons elsewhere now scheduled to try to teach her properly. Thirdly, in an effort to make a "point" that the bicycles won't snap in half, he took her brand new bicycle and threw it to the ground repeatedly. It made her cry. When we got home she was hysterical the streamers came off the handlebars. I brought in a wheel with a broken spoke and Jay put on a new spoke and trued the wheel in no time. Today's visit was lighting fast and cost a lot less than we expected. My replacement bike seat (neighbor donation) was sitting in a very 'poky' position and I couldn't get comfortable riding. Been going to these guys since they were a few blocks down the street (years ago). Was thrilled then. Am still thrilled today. Started going there when I needed my Schwinn (old school, real Schwinn) repaired. The local Boca store (unrelated to Frenchies) next to the Target on 441 (no longer there) held my bike for almost 2 weeks, and gave some lame excuse why it wasn't fixed. So I tried Frenchies. That was my first visit to Frenchies. They were able to fix my old Schwinn in a couple hours. Frenchies has since then moved a few blocks over to the Taco Bell/KFC plaza on 441 in Margate. I've bought several Bikes from their new store for the kids. They made sure not only that the kids were a good match for the bikes they bought, but they adjusted the bikes specifically to fit each child, and made sure the kids knew how to use the specific features of their new bikes. The last bike we bought was this past Saturday (1/19/2019). They have a happy, helpful and friendly staff, although that Cockatoo of theirs is a bit loopy (he'll show you what I mean when you say hello). read more

Extremely disappointed as a customer that has bought 6 bikes from Frenchies over the years. Customer service and quality of work is just not like it was. Brought in 2 bikes for Tune Ups. Was charged almost $100 for each (going price is about $60). I figured, let me just pay the difference, maybe the service is more involved or better. Got the bikes back and they were both COVERED in oil. Had to ask them to wipe them down before taking them out. The guy did a fast sloppy job with that, almost pissed he had to do it. Then my car got oil all over it. Went home and had to degrease both bikes. I called Frenchie and he told me they don't clean bikes because of Covid. I called other bike shops and they laughed. Besides that, the gears don't shift smoothly. Sad to say, I won't be a customer anymore. Poor attitude, when things don't go right (there way) there.
