Oh mama, so good, so good, and I am not a vegan!!
    Erich C.

As I rounded the corner, I noticed a couple eating inside this corner spot, that usually doesn't have any movement inside. My hunger (and curiosity) made my hand open the door to this artistic, quaint, relaxed little restaurant. A nice greeting hit my ears, and I sat at the bar that gives you an aquarium view of the kitchen. My hunger also tried to trick my brain into reading the entire menu, but when saw red beans and rice, brain made a decision and ordered! Can't wait! Good conversation with the cook, and the food was hot and delish! Hit the spot!! Even though I was right there looking into the kitchen, I was given peace to eat my meal. I liked that! Next time, I am getting po'boy, because the bread that came with my food was the kind they use for the po'boy, and it was memorable, with a hint of baguette! Great job guys!

I absolutely loved, loved, loved the food here! The employees were very nice. It had a cool look to it inside but very little, uncomfortable seating. We actually pulled a chair in from outside for me to sit in because I could not sit on the other chairs. Otherwise I would give this place 10 stars! We have a group of nine that would love to eat there in a couple of weeks, but I don't see how that will be possible.

Great vegan food and excellent service. So good we ordered two meals to go for lunch tomorrow since we live outside of Gainesville.

I went with a friend and funny enough this time I went with the same friend. I noticed their menu changed in a good way and they have some great offerings. The menu has a great variety, and I went with the regular Korean breakfast (Korean rice platter). It choose bulgogi as my protein, and it came with rice, a perfectly cooked egg, a fresh side salad, and even a small chicken wing. The flavors were spot on, especially the bulgogi, which was tender and well-seasoned. I split it with my friend and got hash browns and an extra egg for her. It was enough to fill us both granted we also had matcha on the way there. Generous portion for sure for us. Service was friendly and efficient, though the small space can fill up quickly, so plan accordingly. Overall, a great place for a hearty, flavorful meal. Would definitely come back!

Our server was very nice and she answered all of our questions, of which we had many! We were able to sit outside on a nice spring morning before it got too hot. Needless to say this the Metro diner truly surpassed my expectations. We walked in and were greeted immediately and asked if we would like to sit outside which is a covered area or indoors. We chose inside given it being a hot humid day and wanting that extra comfort. The vibe felt amazing with all the smiles and yes even though busy all the wait staff was hopping doing their business! We were seated and told about the specials and given the menu. I was unsure what I wanted because I think I could have eaten a little bit of everything! I did ask the waitress a couple of suggestions and one of them was the pancakes I had chosen. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day! How cool is that and rare. They had a chicken and waffle special that was actually half a chicken ( pieces ) fried with Belgium waffles, powdered sugar and sweet strawberry butter served with their signature sweet and spicy sauce. I'll be honest when I had seen someone else get their plate I was surprised. It looked absolutely incredible and well tremendous. On their specials they had banana pudding pancakes or waffles, this also sounded amazing. It had walnuts, butter and powdered sugar and definitely banana. I am most certainly glad that I chose this as it was incredibly. Super fluffy, flavorful and the banana was not overwhelming there was a perfect balance of flavors. There was a sauce on them that I assume was the banana pudding. It was light and just enough to not overpower the pancake itself. We had also ordered croissant French toast and my son absolutely loved them. They were crispy on the outside yet fluffy and flavorful with a fantastic texture topped with some powdered sugar. Some ordered hash browns, these were also delicious and homemade with a great texture and the portion like all the other dishes pretty large. We had all tried the biscuits and gravy. These too were delicious with such a nice balance of flavors. The biscuits indeed homemade. We were all very pleased with everything. Some eggs over easy and bacon cooked perfectly. The coffee honestly the best I've had in years. I'm a coffee drinker and I cannot figure this coffee was outstanding! I had four cups and wish for more ha ha. Best of all I must compliment the service. I have not been to a restaurant of any sort with such attentive service, quality service as we received here in years. The waitress kept refilling my coffee and water, brought my son more soda ( even a container to take his home ) asked everyone if they needed anything at appropriate times and was extremely kind and considerate. I will be back and I highly recommend the Metro Diner for a great meal, quality service and relaxed environment that you will enjoy. For example seared in olive oil is mentioned but they leave out it's been marinated in herbs and vegetable oil prior. However an undressed salad and grill item like a prime rib were supposedly not pre marinated. So for the folks trying to eliminate inflammatory seeds oils from their diets or those with soybean or peanut allergies you need to stay away. Since blended cooking oils or vegetable oil can def contain both. Atmosphere is casual and interesting with all the football history about. I'm adding menu pictures but we just had drinks with friends and when the food arrived for those not caring about vegetable oil etc we left.
