Fried Catfish sandwich + side of Coleslaw
    Sophia R.

Everything I tried was seasoned to perfection. All The other customers in the store couldn't stop talking about how good everything on the menu was. The Coleslaw was probably my favorite so far. Perfect spice. The "catfish" was seasoned just like you would expect at a fish fry joint. Owner John is a great chef n nice guy. The atmosphere is very interesting. The paintings are fun.

Oh mama, so good, so good, and I am not a vegan!!

As I rounded the corner, I noticed a couple eating inside this corner spot, that usually doesn't have any movement inside. My hunger (and curiosity) made my hand open the door to this artistic, quaint, relaxed little restaurant. A nice greeting hit my ears, and I sat at the bar that gives you an aquarium view of the kitchen. My hunger also tried to trick my brain into reading the entire menu, but when saw red beans and rice, brain made a decision and ordered! Can't wait! Good conversation with the cook, and the food was hot and delish! Hit the spot!! Even though I was right there looking into the kitchen, I was given peace to eat my meal. I liked that! Next time, I am getting po'boy, because the bread that came with my food was the kind they use for the po'boy, and it was memorable, with a hint of baguette! Great job guys!

I absolutely loved, loved, loved the food here! The employees were very nice. It had a cool look to it inside but very little, uncomfortable seating. We actually pulled a chair in from outside for me to sit in because I could not sit on the other chairs. Otherwise I would give this place 10 stars! We have a group of nine that would love to eat there in a couple of weeks, but I don't see how that will be possible.

Great vegan food and excellent service. So good we ordered two meals to go for lunch tomorrow since we live outside of Gainesville.

I thought they would be served chilled, but they fried them. They were very good though, lightly fried with a very good dipping sauce. We also split the jambalaya, which was a very generous portion. We sat at the bar, and were greeted by one of the bartenders and took our drink order. We saw the fried blue crab claws, and figured we would give it a shot. Well, they were just okay, nothing that we would probably order again. Wife had the crab cakes and loved them, very good. I had the chicken and grits. I was excited until it showed up. I could tell just by looking at this super thin fried chicken, that it was going to be rock solid. I was right. The chicken was tough, chewy and stringy. It was cooked well past well done. I tried to eat it, I don't like to complain, but I could only get about 3 bits into it. I pushed it away. When one of the bartenders came by and was taking it away without even asking why an entire plate is being thrown away without hardly any food eaten. So I said it was way overcooked, and inedible, he didn't even respond, just took it and threw it away. No questions. No offer to get something else, just walked away. After that we decided we would go somewhere else, when we got the bill, it was still on there. That was very unprofessional, and I don't think we will be coming back anytime soon.

When you have a job you can't wait 45 minutes just to get your lunch. They are constantly understaffed and say they aren't and blame it on random affairs. There's never anyone at the podium to seat you. It's not welcoming to come and wait for five minutes to get acknowledged. Hire a hostess for minimum wage to just at least get seated nice. It gets tiring giving a chance over and over and the same thing happening every time. We spend an hour and a half for lunch. So if you are in a hurry do not go here. Will update when service is better. I hope this get someone's attention to improve there stuff I do like this place and want it to succeed but it's getting ridiculous and not worth it waiting for. Pros: the foodhas always been good Cons: price and inconsistency

We kept having to ask for essential items to be brought over, like food that we were missing or cocktail sauce and crackers for the oysters. Our drinks never got refilled even after asking. Our server also didn't clear our plates after we were done with the apps and first round of oysters so our table ended up piled high with dirty dishes. We witnessed multiple wrong orders being delivered to tables, patrons asking more than once for things, and discounts being doled out for poor service. The servers, manager, and kitchen don't seem to communicate and are forgetful. Every single table in our section was complaining about the service. The ambiance also feels dated, and not in a charming way. On the bright side, our calamari and fried green tomato appetizers were pretty good, though! We came on a Thursday for the $1 oyster special. The oysters were on the smaller side, but thats to be expected for $1. Wahoo could be a really great restaurant if they had better service and a facelift to the decor, but for now, we won't be coming back. :(

The place was pretty much empty, but it seemed like we were forgotten about until maybe 15 minutes after being seated, when a server happened to walk by and asked if anyone had taken our drink orders. I ordered an Old Fashioned, knowing I was taking a risk ordering that kind of drink in this kind of restaurant, but figured if it was advertised on their menu as a specialty cocktail, they'd be good at it. I figured wrong--it was not good. Started with a small Caesar salad, which was fine, if a bit overdressed. For an entree, I had the ribeye with mashed potatoes and broccoli as sides. The ribeye was underwhelming, not particularly well seasoned and not an especially good cut of meat. The potatoes were really unimpressive, having an odd taste and definitely not very garlicky. Hate to say it, but I can get a better quality steak and sides for less money at just about any Longhorn in the country, as much as I dislike national chains. Shout out to Taylor, who ended up being our server. She was fantastic, even if it seemed she was stuck covering half the tables in the place on her own. I'd also add that the menus are on iPads. This is just silly, and barely a step above QR codes printed on the table. I don't want to tap through a bunch of screens to figure out what I'm going to eat. Give me a real menu to page through. It's much easier to flip back and forth to reference what I want when I'm ordering rather than trying to navigate through a digital menu. I wouldn't place this restaurant high on my list of places to revisit next time I'm in Gainesville.

It wasn't busy(at first) but we still felt rushed. Ordered an app then we ordered entrees. After waiting a bit, he comes back and says there are no pasta dishes in the kitchen. Like wtf, I mean they didn't tell u when u brought the order to the kitchen? But then you bring out the extra side/ house salad that I ordered to go with the pasta. I didn't want it anymore .Fast forward, then this guy brings out the checks while I'm still eating. Like really? And then I was a little offended that he gave us 2 separate checks without asking.Whats funny is that Me and my best friend always try to pay for each other lol, so who told him to do separate checks. But I try not to assume... Now the food was just okay. Had the gator tail and it was salty. Then after "no pasta" I went with the summer salad. And I guess they were out of stuff for this too. It was missing the Blueberry and the apple. Guess they figure they would see if I noticed. Well I did notice, i was just over it, and was just too late complain.
