Food bland, had the blackened chicken handheld no taste needed spices, less then 1/4 inch thick, and Hungary so I did eat it, service slow, the fish and chips also bland, Not happy with food however cool relaxing ambiance and many beers, ales, wheats, stouts, porters, ciders and cocktails so that's a plus

This isn't my first time here. I really like it because we've never had any problems there. The staff is always very friendly. Since I'm a vegetarian and a pescatarian, I always order the shrimp, which are delicious. However, my husband does eat meat, and he says it's one of the best places for hamburgers.

My daughter and I were driving through Gainesville today and decided to stop here for lunch. When you walk in, it is definitely a sports bar. They had several tv's, and we were able to watch the Olympics on them. The only staff person that spoke to us was our server. He got a bit flustered when we asked him what he would recommend, or what some of the most popular dishes are. He basically started reciting the entire menu to us. But, other than that, he did a good job. I know this is minor, but I didn't like that they didn't have straws. But that's just my hang up. The menu was a variety of typical bar type appetizers and food. We got the onion rings for our app, and they were huge. Some were crispy and some were not. Then, we both got the cowboy hamburger. It came with crispy onion straws, thick cut boar's head bacon, and bbq sauce. Both of our burgers were cooked perfectly, but I felt they had too much char on them. The fries were pretty tasty. Overall, it wasn't bad. But it wasn't great either.

This place is awesome. Have been here several times, I always get something different on the menu and am never disappointed. The staff is great and very accommodating as well as being knowledgeable. There is a big selection of beer on tap as well as mixed drinks. There is also a craft beer store to pick up something to take home. The inside is well decorated ,has guest singers on occasion has some outdoor seating as well. This establishment has become a goto whenever I am in Gainesville!

I came here to watch a UF Gators game and I wasn't the only one, the place was packed with people of all ages on a Saturday night! You can tell this really is a mom-and-pop establishment loved by the local community. I started with a delicious pear cider by Original Sin. Wow, such incredible flavor, I would return for that alone. Then I ordered the pesto turkey panini, which was perfectly grilled with crispy bread, melty cheese, and great pesto flavor. I substituted onion rings which were thick-cut with a healthy coating of batter. There is seating inside and outside, at tables, booths, or the bar. They have board and card games to play, plus plenty of TVs. Looking forward to trying them out again soon.

Brittany keeps it all together!!! She's very friendly with a great attitude to boot !! As we were passing through Gainesville, we met up with our kids for some cold ones. I ordered a flight and enjoyed them all. They also have a Package store next door with a very wide selection of beers. Occasionally, they have Open House events with the latest beer Co they are promoting. Very friendly people. Yes, we would go back !!!

The food was so incredibly bad. We haven't swing by fast food after because they didn't even make chicken tenders taste okay. I got the spicy burger (not pictured) for $16 which was dry, tasteless and not spicy at all. What an incredibly disappointing experience. It was just after opening and not at all busy.

Apple Maps struggled to provided proper directions to parking and it might be because the area is under construction so just give yourself time to find Loosey's especially if going for dinner. It sure is worth the effort though, especially if you get Matthew as your server. He is full of wit and great local knowledge. He charmed our table from our first encounter. Loosey's has to be a local favorite because the quality and freshness of the food is outstanding. Matthew is a local treasure and made our experience there so memorable and fun. We all remarked that it must be so electric there when live music is on stage or it's a Gator game day. We started with the loaded potato skins. There were 5 large pieces that were covered with toppings and delivered pipping hot. I could easily order that as a meal next time I'm in town. Their house ranch dipping sauce that is drizzled on top was delicious. Several in our group ordered the Chic-fil Loosey's, which is a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, but I wasn't able to grab a photo as they were so eager to get started eating it. The portion of chicken breast was extremely large and the batter was perfectly crispy. Both diners exclaimed it was one of their all- time favorite chicken sandwiches they had ever eaten. Another diner took advantage of their wing special and exclaimed the Buffalo Garlic sauce was fantastic and she paired them with their ranch as well. She loved their added touch of the small paper basket topping the plate of wings for the bones. I had the Classic Beef Burger and it was cooked perfectly. There was a nice peppery flavor to the grill of the burger and the patty size was more than I expected. Especially for the price. I was so happy we found Loosey's. It was really good food. I encourage you to look past the construction mess and the "old wooden bar" stereotypes and trust me when o say, they take great pride on preparing high quality food.

Beautiful day so we sat outside in a lovely patio area. Great beer menu with draughts imported or domestic as well as a full bar. The menu was pretty much standard bar fare I had fish and chips and my wife had Mac and cheese. The fries on my plate were covered in salt. I tried to shake it off and wound up with a layer of salt on my plate. Most restaurant food is too salty for me as I cook at home low salt but this was crazy. I decided to try the Mac and cheese. It also had a cap of salt on it. I tried to dig to the bottom of the crock thinking that wouldn't be salty but I was wrong. The dish was prepared with salt throughout. Time to go and I did complain. The waitress said she hears that a lot and she offered to replace our meal to go but we didn't take her up on that offer. The fish was great! And we loved the vibe of the restaurant inside and out. I would go back again but knowing that I would order SALT FREE !!

We were really happy with our meal and would definitely come back if we need a quick bite. I also think it's great that they give you a drive-thru number instead of rushing orders out the window. There were only 2 people ordering at the counter so I used the ladies' room real quick while my husband reviewed their menu. The water at the main sink was not running at all so I could not use it to wash my hands. Luckily, I carry a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol with me so I just used that. I hope the female employees have a different restroom because they wouldn't be able to wash their hands either The lady that took the order was a little distant / disinterested / zoning out, polite but not very friendly like she's rather be somewhere else. We got our fountain drink first and waited for our order to be prepared: Culver Deluxe double meal with a side order of large onion rings. Total was about $19. It took about 10 minutes and the To Go busboy gave us our food, he was pleasant, polite, even smiled and thanked us for visiting. We left and had our food on the drive home - the Culver Deluxe was made well. It tasted fresh and the veggies were crisp. The large order of onion rings were crunchy just like we wanted them. And the crinkle fries were a great addition to complete our fast food craving. If I didn't visit the restroom, my rating would be higher. Also, staff allowed a non service animal (looked like a poodle mix) on a leash walk around the ordering counter area. I like pets but not near my restaurant orders. Maybe there should be a sign on the door to prevent that. Anyway, I hope the women's restroom faucet issue is resolved soon since that is major health and safety issue. Not sure if we'll be back again, but I did submit my main concerns to the Culver survey so maybe they'll contact me about it.

The broccoli was brought out about 5-7 minutes after my wings, but not an issue. My daughter ordered a burger with no cheese with lettuce and tomato. The burger came out with just meat and bun. No worries - Maddie was on it to get the items and bring them out. When the lettuce was brought out there were bugs - not just 1 or 2, but like 8-10 fruit fly type bugs crawling around the lettuce. Maddie immediately apologies and we wanted to tell them so they didn't serve it out to anyone else. She said she told her manager and they would be coming by. They never did. We had twins there celebrating a birthday and we wanted to celebrate. We were told they could only do one free dessert. No problem - happy to pay for one so they could both celebrate, but the manager was going to come out to talk to us. The check was brought to the table and still no manager. I would not stop back in at this location which is unfortunate since the servers do their best to help and get what is needed, but managers not seem to want to do much. We never once yelled or requested anything except to speak with a manager to make sure no one else would get served with bugs.

Needless to say this the Metro diner truly surpassed my expectations. We walked in and were greeted immediately and asked if we would like to sit outside which is a covered area or indoors. We chose inside given it being a hot humid day and wanting that extra comfort. The vibe felt amazing with all the smiles and yes even though busy all the wait staff was hopping doing their business! We were seated and told about the specials and given the menu. I was unsure what I wanted because I think I could have eaten a little bit of everything! I did ask the waitress a couple of suggestions and one of them was the pancakes I had chosen. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day! How cool is that and rare. They had a chicken and waffle special that was actually half a chicken ( pieces ) fried with Belgium waffles, powdered sugar and sweet strawberry butter served with their signature sweet and spicy sauce. I'll be honest when I had seen someone else get their plate I was surprised. It looked absolutely incredible and well tremendous. On their specials they had banana pudding pancakes or waffles, this also sounded amazing. It had walnuts, butter and powdered sugar and definitely banana. I am most certainly glad that I chose this as it was incredibly. Super fluffy, flavorful and the banana was not overwhelming there was a perfect balance of flavors. There was a sauce on them that I assume was the banana pudding. It was light and just enough to not overpower the pancake itself. We had also ordered croissant French toast and my son absolutely loved them. They were crispy on the outside yet fluffy and flavorful with a fantastic texture topped with some powdered sugar. Some ordered hash browns, these were also delicious and homemade with a great texture and the portion like all the other dishes pretty large. We had all tried the biscuits and gravy. These too were delicious with such a nice balance of flavors. The biscuits indeed homemade. We were all very pleased with everything. Some eggs over easy and bacon cooked perfectly. The coffee honestly the best I've had in years. I'm a coffee drinker and I cannot figure this coffee was outstanding! I had four cups and wish for more ha ha. Best of all I must compliment the service. I have not been to a restaurant of any sort with such attentive service, quality service as we received here in years. The waitress kept refilling my coffee and water, brought my son more soda ( even a container to take his home ) asked everyone if they needed anything at appropriate times and was extremely kind and considerate. I will be back and I highly recommend the Metro Diner for a great meal, quality service and relaxed environment that you will enjoy. We went during THE busiest time so we were lucky to find parking in the cramped but free parking lot. The hostess let us know there was a 35 min wait for indoor seating for 2. Outdoor seating was available, but we decided against it since it was a hot n sunny day in the 90s. We were ok with the wait and gave the hostess my name and phone number to get a text when the table was ready. While we waited, we walked to Serpentine plant shop across the parking lot and shopped a little. The text that our table was ready arrived 34 minutes so it was timed perfectly with the end of my shopping... we were seated soon after walking back into the restaurant. We had a corner table near the drink prep/coffee station so we had a front row seat to the preparing of many different teas and coffees while we decided what to order. A note about the table / seat size, we are skinny people and the seating fit us well but anyone somewhat wider would have trouble being comfortable. The high top tables might be a better option for those guests. The entire restaurant was packed when we came in and remained pretty full for our visit. There are 2 single-occupancy restrooms to the far left of the main entrance. They were clean enough and stocked appropriately. We were served by Jane and she answered all our menu questions. We ordered a cold matcha latte, chai latte, Mexican Coke, crispy potatoes, afternoon hash extra egg, 1/2 mushroom toast, and a turkey club no lettuce no bacon plus desserts (to go) chocolate chip cookie, puff pastry, and cinnamon roll. Jane brought out our to go desserts soon after the order. Our drinks arrived minutes after. However, our food took a bit longer (which we expected with a 100% full restaurant and Jane apologized for the wait, letting us know our food was on it's way about 20 minutes in) around 30 minutes. While we were waiting, there was punk rock / alt music in the background and a bunch of people's conversations going on so don't expect to have quiet dining if you go during a Saturday busy brunch. The Turkey Club was on thick Texas toast with dill in the mayo and tasted clean, fresh, like a delightful treat that grandma would make on a hot summer day. My husband's hash and crispy potatoes were the right amount of crunch and spice. The crispy potatoes had chunks of lime in it that were alarmingly sour but somehow complimented the dish. My mushroom toast had a delectable sauce topping with fresh scallions on french bread. We were very satisfied with our choices and had 1/2 my sandwich leftover plus our desserts to bring home. Many of the guests left empty plates when leaving so it seems their food is a hit! The only reason my "atmosphere" rating is missing a star is that our table was unfortunately near one of the restrooms so we would occasionally smell the disinfectant odor when someone opened the door. This was just a seating "feature" so of course it could not be helped. As far as other smells, we did notice that the kitchen, even if it was nearby, did not waft any fried food odors or smoke so their cooking area ventilation must be top-notch. All in all, a great foodie experience, cost about $100 with generous tip. Jane provided super customer service. We would come back for brunch or lunch here again, just not at the same table area

We ordered the Dutch baby with seasonal fruit, the big break, a cinnamon roll, and the afternoon hash. From time of placing the order to receiving our food was an overall total of 45 minutes. A bit of a long wait for breakfast/brunch style items. The cinnamon roll was not done well whatsoever, the roll itself was over kneaded which created a thick and heavy dough. Not the fluffy type of cinnamon roll you would expect. When our food did come out the Dutch baby was partly burnt, it did not taste as such but it was a bit flat in regard to taste. The potatoes in the hash and the big break were burnt. I wouldn't consider it crispy because they were so overcooked I could barely get my fork to go through. The taste of the hollandaise did redeem the dish a tad, however for $90 including tip it was not the dining experience I would come back to.
