I had the shrimp tacos with sweet slaw both of which were very good. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the slaw was tangy & sweet with a nice freshness to the overall feel. My wife had the turkey panini with tots which looked and tasted great! The ambience is that of a traditional pub which had plenty of tables and very friendly staff. Let me start by saying I absolutely hate leaving bad reviews. I've worked in the service industry, both bussing tables when I was younger and waitressing, so I'm very understanding. For me to leave a review this negative, the service truly had to be poor. Last night, we chose this place to celebrate my Irish heritage with a green beer and some light food. There is plenty of parking and outdoor seating, which is a plus. However, when we arrived, there was a line of people waiting for a table, and it quickly turned chaotic. One woman tried to cut the line, and another wanted to argue over a small booth that her family wouldn't have even fit in. Eventually, we were seated. I understand that holidays can be busy, so we were trying to be patient. Our waiter came over, dropped off menus, said "I'll be right back," and disappeared. After 25 minutes of waiting at the table, I had to flag down another waitress. Meanwhile, at least three tables that were seated after us already had drinks and had placed their food orders. I understand being busy, but at the very least, we should have been greeted or offered drinks. The waitress we flagged down said she would help us, which seemed promising at first, but then we waited another 20 minutes just for drinks. I'm not sure if it was an understaffing issue or something else, but the service was extremely poor. We considered leaving a one-star review, but the waitress did seem like she was trying. The food was okay, we ordered light items, and it still took quite a while to arrive. Overall, we would recommend skipping this place. There are plenty of other options in town that will treat you better. We work hard, and when we go out, we expect at least standard service. read more

This is my go to restaurant when I'm in the mood to go out on my own or with friends and family from out of town. The beer selection is great and the food is better than typical bar food. I highly recommend the pork rinds! They come out still crackling!! I will sit at the bar if on my own and the bartender is always attentive. Table service is good as well. They do have singers sometimes and they're enjoyable. Other evenings it's pretty quiet. I recommend going to the bottle shop next door if you love all types or hard to find beers! read more

Sort of a weird place, has the ambience of a chain restaurant with the immense tap line of a craft brew pub. Food was lackluster, had a premade feel about it. The interior was very bright yet loud like a club; wasn't something that would inspire me to sit for a beer, and I'd not go out of my way for the food. I like it! Came to the area for a wedding and found it on yelp. We were greeted by Fish as we entered. Yes, that's his name if he tells you that's his name it's his name. This isn't my first time here. I really like it because we've never had any problems there. The staff is always very friendly. My daughter and I were driving through Gainesville today and decided to stop here for lunch. When you walk in, it is definitely a sports bar. They had several tv's, and we were able to watch the Olympics on them. The only staff person that spoke to us was our server. He got a bit flustered when we asked him what he would recommend, or what some of the most popular dishes are. He basically started reciting the entire menu to us. But, other than that, he did a good job. I know this is minor, but I didn't like that they didn't have straws. But that's just my hang up. The menu was a variety of typical bar type appetizers and food. We got the onion rings for our app, and they were huge. Some were crispy and some were not. Then, we both got the cowboy hamburger. It came with crispy onion straws, thick cut boar's head bacon, and bbq sauce. Both of our burgers were cooked perfectly, but I felt they had too much char on them. The fries were pretty tasty. I came here to watch a UF Gators game and I wasn't the only one, the place was packed with people of all ages on a Saturday night! You can tell this really is a mom-and-pop establishment loved by the local community. I started with a delicious pear cider by Original Sin. Wow, such incredible flavor, I would return for that alone. Then I ordered the pesto turkey panini, which was perfectly grilled with crispy bread, melty cheese, and great pesto flavor. I substituted onion rings which were thick-cut with a healthy coating of batter. There is seating inside and outside, at tables, booths, or the bar. Oof, this place was a miss tonight. Hubby got the Shepherds Pie and it was more like a meat oatmeal/gruel. He said it was the worst meal he has ever had at a restaurant. No flavor and terrible consistency; very watery. I had the bacon wrapped meatloaf with tots instead of mashed potatoes. It was not terrible. Our friend had the Caesar salad, she said the Caesar dressing also lacking flavor and it was watery. Our beers were under-poured, but appropriately priced.
