We went on a Saturday evening with a reservation and used a groupon. The groupon basically gets you the sparkling wine and 2 desserts for free. I started with the escargot. It is made differently than I am used to. It is escargot served with a sauce. It is not served in individual cups with a garlic oil. It was tasty. My friend had the baked apple and brie salad, which was a special of the day. It was delicious and fresh. My entree was the beef roast. It was rich and flavorful and served with potato au gratin and green beans and brussels sprouts. My friend had the mahi and mango suace entree. The fish is caught fresh. We finished with the pistachio rum cake and banana bread pudding. The banana bread pudding was my favorite. Overall, we had good service and the food is all made in-house and super fresh. New owners with a Master Chef from Toulouse. Opened Tuesday June 2nd. We tried them out and they are terrific. Gazpacho and escargot as apps. Excellent. Scallops that were almost in a risotto and were fabulous. I had skirt steak that was the roast special. I'd go for Steak au poivre next time. Their profiteroles are heaven. Haven't been here in awhile. We started with a bottle of Bordeaux. Both of us ordered escargot. Melt in your mouth- delicious. We had some crusty bread for dipping. We then ordered beef bourguignon. Was very rich & delicious. It came with potatoes gratin. Hubby had pistachio rum cake for dessert. I tasted it- very yummy indeed. The restaurant is cozy & very intimate . The most celiac conscious restaurant I've been to in the US. The food is EXCELLENT and the service is SUPERB! Most things on the menu are GF! Plus, they are conscious of the gluten they serve. Parking - located in the Lauderdale By the Sea area, parking is always hard but totally worth the effort and cost! Food - traditional French but tasted a bit bland. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked just needed a little more flavor. Service - excellent and inviting. The lady (who we think was the owner) was very nice and made for good conversation. Frenchy's is a small French restaurant located by Lauderdale by the Sea that can be described as an intimate and genuine French dining experience. As we arrived we noticed how important a reservation is here as there are only about 9-10 tables. The single waitress greeted us immediately and right away you could tell she has been a mainstay of this restaurant for many years. She happily explained how the menu worked and talked to us in great detail about the entire wine list. As a decorated sommelier she told us stories about each bottle of wine and you could tell how passionate she was about the profession. She made excellent recommendations of the escargot and the lamb that ended up being fantastic. We had also wanted to sample the French onion soup (as anyone should at a French restaurant!) and it was pretty good as well. We loved this restaurant and I will be recommending it to all of my local friends. Places like this are hidden gems and should be shared and celebrated! read more

French Onion soup took 20 minutes to arrive and then was too hot to eat for another 10..was delicious except for 3 full peppercorns hiding amongst the onions. Wife's pear salad appetizer was excellent and large. Potatoes and veggies are excellent.., skimpy on protein and sauces, but delicious. Desserts are good but limited choices. Amazing French food. Highly recommend the escargot -- melt-in-your-mouth delicious, garlic and oil but slow cooked with white wine and thyme. They will bring a tear to your eye. Also highly recommend the orange duck (so tender, light sauce) and the au gratin potatoes (thin and buttery, amazing). The orange cake finished it all off and was unbelievably good. Not to be like the Soviet judge rating the Moscow Olympic skater, but this was a perfect 5 in every way! French onion soup is always a good gauge of a French bistro, and theirs is out of this world, plus among the best I've had anywhere in the world. Duck breast magret (hey it was my b-day, so cholesterol be damned) was amazingly good. It's cooked with what seemed to be a mango sauce and currants (I think) on top. This duck died for a very good cause. Creme brûlée was also absolutely perfect. Service here is stellar the minute you walk in the door. It's a tiny bistro, so there's just the one server and one chef. The server was professional, competent and friendly. He was also very funny, and got us laughing a minimum of 5 times. Edith the chef is also a sweetheart. Ambience here is quaint French bistro meets palm trees with holiday lights. The space is tiny and has a lot of regulars (reservations are a very good idea). Even the parking lot is welcoming, with a lot of sparkling lights, nice art and landscaping. I'm usually not big on places that bang a pot, sing happy birthday, etc., but these folks did a subtle and thoughtful twist. The server overheard us talking about my birthday, and unprompted brought out the creme brûlée with small sparklers in each. He pointed out that the 2 different colored sparklers matched each person's shirt. I haven't had exposure to sparklers since I was 8, so I tried to blow them out like a candle LOL. read more

In addition, there was another gratuity line added. As if you're going to tip at least 20%, with a note at the bottom to discuss it with the manager if you have any questions. The starter salad with roasted pear and goat cheese was outstanding! I could have eaten another order of that. The server advised us several items on the menu were not available either because the ingredients were not available or the items were sold out. Disappointing. And sadly I'm French. I was taking my Latina wife for French cuisine and was fooled by Yelp reviews. Service was good and conscientious but the food offerings lacked integrity. You can't lure people in for what they believe will be higher order food and charge those prices for Poor Quality and Poorly Prepared food. We ordered the following: French Onion Soup, Escargot, Snapper in Beurre Blanc, Duck Breast. 1st...French Onion soup was mediocre and not even hot. Inexplicable! Had to send it back for them to heat up. 2nd...Escargot also not hot but warm enough. Normally Escargot should be piping hot in its own juices and then sautéed lightly in a crème sauce to have the desired effect they were striving for. 3rd...Snapper came out warm not hot in a cold plate. For those prices, the food should be fresh, hot and the plate should be hot as well. 4th...Duck breast was so cold I again had to make them heat it up. Also, it was so chewy you could tell it was probably frozen for a while and not properly defrosted before cooking. 5th...Brussel sprouts were definitely not fresh and probably frozen before steaming. I could get better Brussel sprouts at a Gastro Pub bar. The Potato Gratin was good and seemed to be one of the only fresh and properly made part of the meal. The beer La Cadette was also good. All in all, this place should have more integrity and represent French cuisine in a manner deserving of the name Frenchy's. We're talking $38-$55 per meal or more. We didn't want to even stay for our included dessert. We were anxious to leave the scene of a crime. A crime against our hopes of a French Fine Dining Date night experience. This food should have been on par with the price and cute ambience of being near Lauderdale by the Sea. Sad...some Authentic French Culinary Society in south Florida should protest their existence and make them raise their level of culinary integrity and expertise. read more
