    Such a delightful lunch experience in a rather unusual location. Set on busy Dixie Highway amongst lots of small industrial shops, you might easily miss this place. There are a few parking spaces right outside. Inside, there are 3 booths, and a dozen plus seats at regular tables. We came for a late lunch and grabbed an open booth. Get the comp bread for the table, it's crusty, chewy, and earthy. I added a touch of olive oil, too. They have beer and wine and sodas and coffees. We just had water. My husband had a classic sandwich panini). It had tomatoes, prosciutto, mozzarella, and arugula. All on their crusty bread. He added some balsamic. The sandwich had potato sticks on the side. He ate half the sandwich and took half home for dinner. I got their Milanese chicken on top of a Caesar salad. The thin chicken medallion was lightly breaded and cut into slices. It was served atop a Caesar salad with romaine and just the right amount of dressing. Now that we know they're here, we'll definitely return. I have my eye on a few of their pasta dishes.

    My wife is really good at finding new places to add, and/or enjoy, for our own dining experiences! This place was a definite hit! On Dixie Hwy in the automotive industrial area, it was fairly close to home. A small and welcoming interior with tables for indoor dining. They do have two high top tables for outside dining. They do have daily specials as well as the standard printed menu items. I chose the Prosciutto Classico : Prosciutto, mozzarella, tomatoes, and arugula on some fresh crusty bread. A generous sized and DELICIOUS sandwich! So glad they are close so we can visit often!

    I just moved to pompano and was looking for some pasta. Italia station cafe had great reviews so I thought to try them. I had my partner his daughter along with my mom walking in I was a bit nervous it was a small yet fully intimate spot. It felt warm and full of family and attention to detail we sat and got served right away with waters and a menu. We ordered the meatballs for the table along with two caesars it was delicious very flavorful then the food came out and no complaints everything was very good and cooked well wine was strong and good will be back wonderful service!     Great experience and pleasant staff! My first time here and the food was delicious. I had the chicken Milanese which was very flavorful paired with a nice arugula and cucumber salad. Such a cozy, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere great for an intimate lunch date I highly recommend!

    I had such a wonderful experience at this small, authentic Italian restaurant. The moment we walked in, the owner and server (both Italian) made everything feel warm and personal. The complimentary bread was fresh, warm, and impossible to stop eating. The owner recommended a dessert and even said that if I didn't love it, it would be on the house. It ended up being phenomenal rich, flavorful, and one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. The customer service was truly incomparable. Everyone was so kind and attentive, and they even surprised us with complimentary coffee at the end of our meal. It was the perfect finishing touch to an amazing dining experience.

The restaurant was also very loud and crowded, and with our larger table, people on opposite ends had to practically yell to hear each other. Food-wise, the bruschetta and desserts were excellent, the meatballs were just okay, and while my mom loved the rack of lamb, I found mine a bit overdone and overpowered by the sauce. We were also disappointed they were out of branzino, since several people in our party had planned to order it. Overall, La Perla has a lot of charm, very good food, and a warm, authentic feel. Even a few weeks in advance, Valentine's Day was already booked, so we made a reservation for Valentine's eve. This is not a restaurant I would come to without a reservation because I saw people get turned away. Located in an unassuming little strip mall, you would never know that there is a sparkling gem of a place tucked in the middle of the shops. Parking can be a little tricky, but we were able to snag a spot in front. Inside, this quaint restaurant has such welcoming decor in black-and-white with some accent colors. There are lots of little knickknacks and decorations from Italy. When we entered, we were greeted by one of the owners, Nadia. We had a short wait before our table was ready. When seated, Nadia went over all the specials and answered our questions regarding her recommendations on the menu. Her husband, Mario, also assists with serving. He also greeted us later during our dinner to check in about our meal. Now let's get to the heart of this review...the food. As someone with Sicilian heritage, I have been fortunate to visit Italy and have had some pretty amazing fresh seafood and pasta dishes there. And of course, I've had wonderful Italian restaurant experiences here as well. But I have to say, Sea Mario tops the list. Before I discuss the food menu, I just want to point out they have an extensive wine list. The menu offers several selections whether one is vegetarian, wants steak/lamb instead of pasta, or has come here for the dishes 'di mare.' We started off with an appetizer. Arancini rice balls with mushrooms and cheese. The Arancini balls flanked a bowl of stracciatella cheese. This was a special appetizer not on the regular menu. It was fantastic and dare I say luxurious? (Please put in on the regular menu!) For our main courses, my husband had the Fettuccini Florida Golden Crab & Scallops. It was Caribbean Italian fusion inspired with a flavorful, but not (hot) spicy, pasta sauce. I opted for the Maine Lobster Catalana. I have had my share of seafood pasta dishes throughout my life, but when this entree was placed in front of me, the aroma was so fragrant that I knew I was in for something special. The pasta sauce was made with high-quality tomatoes and caramelized onions (which I think really aided this sauce and made it different). The dish had clams and, of course, succulent lobster tail and the claw meat. The lovely aroma was not a tease because the dish tasted excellent. If having freshly made pasta with lobster sounds appealing to you, this is the dish to get. (They make their own pasta and the seafood is very fresh.) We ended our meal by sharing a fresh cannoli. The shell was not hard like a typical cannoli, rather it had the consistency of a doughnut. The ricotta filling with pistachio was absolutely out of this world. The plate was beautifully decorated with a berry drizzle in the shape of a seahorse. As you can tell, I'm pretty smitten with Sea Mario. I definitely want to return to this romantic restaurant for our anniversary later this year. Thank you for the incredible service and dishes.
