    Lunch

My wife wanted to have a relaxing lunch on the beach and found 101 for us to try. We were able to find street parking only a few steps away from the patio entrance. We were greeted by Jerry who was behind the bar and his trainee. I decided to have a cold draft beer, while my wife is not a drinker, wanted to try a Mudslide for the first time. Jerry convinced her he could make one and not even notice the alcohol. She really enjoyed her "chocolate milkshake". As we looked over the eclectic menu we decided to start by sharing the Asian Ribs dish. We enjoyed sitting at the bar and watching the tourists go by, some pulling up a seat at the bar to enjoy the setting and beautiful day. Our platter of ribs arrived and were very appealing to the eye and the taste buds as well. Very meaty and plenty to share! Thanks to Jerry and the 101 kitchen for making this lunch stop a relaxing and enjoyable experience!

We were in the area and decided to "play tourist". Lauderdale By the Sea is the perfect location. The restaurant is located on a corner and the bar is open to the patio area and street. You can people watch easily. I'm not much of a drinker, but I decided I wanted something frozen and touristy. I chose a mudslide. I asked Jerry, the bartender, to go light on the alcohol. He told me he made a great one. I trusted him. I don't even know what was in this drink, except that one of the bottles said white chocolate liqueur. All I know was that it was an adult chocolate milk shake. And It tasted fantastic. Way to go Jerry! My husband made do with one of their draft beers. We sat enjoying the view and conversation and browsed the menu. We decided to share their Asian ribs appetizer. It was big enough for the both of us. A little sticky and messy, but the ribs were meaty and tasty. And with our drinks was enough for lunch. What a nice way to while away a lunchtime...escape all the worries of the world for a few moments and just relax.

After three years, we decided to check out 101 Ocean again. My friend Kevin had heard good things about their lasagna and he wanted to try it. The host was very nice and friendly. The menu was really diverse with plenty of choices for anyone. I got the Cobb salad, my friend got the lasagna. The salad was big...all the greens, toppings and dressing were fresh and delicious, unfortunately the grilled chicken was dry, bland and not very warm. I would not get that again. My friend's lasagna was a big chunk of pasta...he loved the taste, the sauce and the pasta noodles. He would get that again. Overall one good meal, one not so great....

Tasty looking Happy Hour bites. I can't wait to go back!

LBTS is our favorite dining city in South Florida, but we had yet to try 100 Ocean, so we finally went for lunch. The service was OUTSTANDING! Our waitress Alexandra earned a 30% tip for going above and beyond. My wife's Roasted Beet - Goat Cheese Salad was a 10 out of 10! My Taco Salad was a 3 out of 10. First of all, it was TOO SALTY and I could barely detect the Avocado Ranch Dressing. When I told the waitress, she said, "Let me go get you some more dressing!" That helped things more, but it still tasted off. I suggested maybe I get some lime wedges to squeeze over. Alex happily brought me 4 and that did the trick, making the salad a 7 out of 10. She also refilled our water glasses on a hot day, without us even asking. The vibe is great with plenty of indoor-outdoor seating, and we just felt so welcomed. If you go, ask that Alex be your server. She is the BEST!!!!

Food : pizza was done simple. Not the best. I did not like the balsamic vinegar on top of the feta cheese. Dough taste good though Service: hostess went to order for us. Quick Ambiance: table and sun Will give a try with a different pizza next time

I stopped in on a cold beach day. I sat outside to enjoy the scenery and it was a good choice. I didn't want a heavy meal since it was early in the day. I ordered the peel and eat shrimp and an apple cider for beverage. The service was good. The server was friendly and checked in regularly. The food was just okay. Not a stand out but filled my stomach. It's a great location to people watch.

    Grilled Mahi Mahi

I went for a late lunch and it did not disappoint. I had grilled mahi mahi with rice pilaf and asparagus. It was delicious. I had asked for them to go light on salt and they came through with flying colors.

This place doesn't miss. Every. Single. Time. We look forward to visiting FLL even more just because we know we'll hit 101 Ocean a few times while in town. Fabulous bartenders and even better drinks/food. Living in Nola has me missing cheesesteaks from NJ like I grew up with. 101 Ocean has a perfect one. It's the only sandwich I make sure to finish. We've tried a few things like the fried calamari and turkey club. Each dish gets better and better. Can't go wrong with this place for happy hour and drink specials. We've watched NHL playoffs here, march madness and so much more. Sitting at the bar gives you spectacular views of Lauderdale by the Sea which is enough to keep ya there but the fact that they'll have on the popular sporting events and delicious food keeps us returning. The perfect blend of relaxing by the beach and a an upbeat sports bar. On weekends they even offer live music. Don't skip this place!

We had a beautiful evening with great service, food was delicious, and the drinks were on point. I would love to go back soon, and enjoy another romantic evening.

Wife's salad was huge, my crispy chicken sandwich was tasty but my black cherry Rita seemed more like a sweet drink than a cocktail.

It ended up being the perfect choice because we still had beautiful views of the water and could watch the boats pass by while enjoying a much quieter atmosphere. Our waitress was wonderful. She was incredibly kind, knowledgeable about the menu, and gave great recommendations. Her personality was so warm and welcoming, and she struck the perfect balance of being attentive without constantly interrupting our meal. The food was outstanding. The filet mignon skewers were tender and practically melted in your mouth. The grilled onions, peppers, squash, and zucchini added so much flavor, and the mashed potatoes were absolutely delicious. The roasted chicken was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. We also ordered the ceviche, which was fresh, bright, and one of our favorite appetizers of the night. And then there was dessert... the Going Bananas! Wow. It was the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal and something I'd order again in a heartbeat. Between the waterfront views, excellent service, and incredible food, Kaluz delivered a memorable dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommend!

The staff are professional, long-tenured, and very friendly. Every time we visit, we are welcomed as regulars. Two huge opportunities. 1. The back / main entrance to the outside bar has now turned into a prep station. As a result, staff congregate there and customers overhear their conversations which more often than not are loud and sometimes inappropriate. 2. Some years ago they removed the Seafood Stew/Soup. Very few restaurants offer soup these days. And theirs was great! Please bring it back, we're confident that the regulars that came in for that dish will be back too.

It almost disappears among the restaurants across from the Galleria Mall. Step inside, though, and you're transported into one of South Florida's true culinary treasures, led by James Beard Award-winning Chef Allen Susser. The tableside Caesar salad is both dinner and a performance. Fresh, flavorful, and prepared right in front of you, it's worth ordering for the experience alone. The standout of the evening was the Cabernet-braised short rib. So tender it practically melts with the touch of a fork, perfectly seasoned, and a dish that reminds you why Chef Allen has earned such an outstanding reputation. As if the dinner wasn't enough, the night continued with one of South Florida's best-kept secrets. Walk through an unassuming set of double doors, head upstairs, and you'll find a simple lobby with a large red door tucked into the corner. Behind it is Betty's Bar, a hidden speakeasy that feels like stepping back into the Prohibition era. Great cocktails, lively music, jazz, rock and roll, and an atmosphere that makes it easy to lose track of time. A special thank you to Matt, the gracious host and manager, Brandon, whose tableside Caesar salad preparation was as memorable as his service, and Amy at Betty's Bar, who welcomed us with a celebratory glass of champagne. Sunness Supper Club and Betty's Bar immediately earned a place on our short list of favorite South Florida destinations.
