But they worked with my budget and it was great. My guests can't stop raving about the wedding still. It was the most perfect and epic night of our lives. Having a full service venue with the best wedding planner, photographers, florists, servers, bartenders, fireworks -- honestly Martoca has the best of everything. As a bride, not having to look through every vendor and navigating contracts and figuring out taxes and gratuity was so helpful when planning a wedding in a different country. The thing I appreciated the most was how quick and easy the communication was with Jimmy and Mariana. They also understood and respected our budget without trying to do any up-selling and even helped us take some of the more expensive budget items off and had other similar options within our price range that they suggested. You truly feel like family and not like a number to them, which was one of my favorite parts of wedding planning. And when there that one day event in Puerto Vallarta, Jimmy was very upfront and honest about everything and I never felt like he was hiding anything. That being said, I and my guests walked around Puerto Vallarta (I got married in March) and felt so safe. If any guests have concerns, they should look at the live cameras and see how the boardwalk and life was immediately back to normal. One of the best parts, besides the most amazing wedding day, was the tasting day. My husband and I signed a contract sight unseen, so when it came to tour the venue and do the tasting we were very excited. I was not expecting the food to be as amazing as it was. One of the top responses from our guests was how fresh and amazing the food was. And I completely changed my vision and the whole staff got out the different tables I was envisioning during the tasting and wedding planning day without complaint. I didn't have to change a single thing in terms of florals and the hardest part was figuring out what tasty cocktails to serve at cocktail hour because all were so good and same with the food. Also, the al pastor tacos and churros are a MUST for the late night snacks. The day of the wedding was so easy and I didn't have to stress about a single thing because Mariana and her whole team had timelines for me, my husband and our wedding party and family. I always knew where I needed to be and what time every little thing was. The staff also never let any guest have an empty drink, which for a wedding of about 80, was so impressive. They were even bringing rounds of shots out onto the dance floor and drinks, so the party never had to stop. I do recommend the fireworks and the donkey! The fireworks are sooo impressive and your guests will love taking photos with the worlds cutest burro. The Martoca Film team needs their own special shout out. I came with 0 inspiration photos and said just do whatever they wanted and they delivered! Every photo and video we received, you can just see the artistry behind the camera. And they were so much fun and easy to be around. I truly loved the whole team and they are BEYOND talented. I could write a book on how amazing our wedding was and how easy the whole process was. Their hotel and resort were also safe, beautiful, well maintained, and easily accessible by Uber, taxis, and other transport. I was told by a local driver that this location is considered the "Beverly Hills" of Puerto Vallarta, so prices were accordingly higher than in some other areas in town. Despite the price tag, I felt that the service we received was worth every dollar. I loved the all-inclusive dining and bar, and really appreciated the option of add-on services like massages, beauty salon, etc...not to mention the almost-private beach, two pools, and a hot tub! But after seeing some of the mixed feedback now, I was honestly surprised. It seems like this place can be very hit or miss. Thankfully for us, it was definitely a hit. We were there for three nights, and overall had a great experience. Our main complaint would be the food, which we found to be mediocre overall, though there were definitely a couple of standouts. Next time, I'd skip the buffet except for the freshly made stations, which were the only part consistently worth it. We really enjoyed the teppanyaki at Tamari, and the fish and shrimp tacos from Blaze were so good we had them twice during our stay. On the other hand, dinner at Blaze was unremarkable and we were disappointed with the pizza and zeppole from Melanzane, though we didn't get to try anything else there. I do wish we had stayed an extra night or two to explore more of the dining options, though based on what we experienced, we may not have missed out on too much. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. Special shoutout to Rafael at the club lounge bar and Lizbeth at reception - both were a pleasure and made our stay even more enjoyable. I was also surprised by the size of the gym and the variety of equipment. I made sure to get at least one workout in and really appreciated the incredible ocean views while doing so. We visited in February and never felt like the resort was overcrowded. In fact, some restaurants seemed surprisingly empty at times. One thing worth noting: they have pickleball courts and a basketball court, which we didn't see advertised anywhere. We would've packed our pickleball gear had we known, but fortunately they provide equipment you can borrow. They also offer activities throughout the day - we mostly enjoyed the evening bar shows. I'd definitely recommend downloading their app to keep track of the schedule and access other helpful hotel information like menus. Overall, this was a very enjoyable stay and a strong positive experience for us. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the dining experience didn't quite match the rest of the resort. While the food could be more consistent, the friendly staff, beautiful setting, amenities, and relaxed atmosphere made it a memorable stay.
