The service again was amazing and the sunset view along with juicy food options left us wanting more. This place has the 2nd best smoked fish of all time. The place may be casual and relaxed, but the food is precisely made, beautifully seasoned, and lovingly presented. Fine dining on the beach, with no prétention. There's a MX$800 per person (cash only), which you'll easily reach with drinks, appetizers, meal, and coffee. Figure US60 per person with tip -- and worry every peso. This beach bar and grill is a hidden gem down a long dirt road. You can have drinks and appetizers in outdoor couches under palm trees or under a palapa on the beach. The food served in the open air dining room is top notch. We walked four miles down the long beach and boggie boarded in the ocean. Oh, and did I mention, our waiter Alejandro was great. Having seen this small beachfront establishment featured in the November 2020 United Airline's Hemisphere magazine, we walked an easy 1.2 km beachfront stroll northward from the Conrad resort on Punta de Mita on Nov 13, 2020. It was well worth the short walk. Cash only by the way, but they accept pesos, dollars, iPhones, Apple watches, etc. Just kidding on the Apple products. And not expensive at all anyway. The octopus was primo. Huge. Highly recommended. Wash it all down with a Tecate beer served with the traditional clamoto (tomato juice) in a mug. Margaritas come on the rocks or frozen, your choice. The smoked marlin tostados were excellent. Catch of the day was primo. No room for dessert. Gilligan, the establishment canine, might come over for a pet if you are lucky. And you also may get to see and stroke the black cat that hangs out around the perimeter. The owner man came by for a friendly chat at the end of our visit, and we let him know that we were very happy that they have survived the virus so far. Hope the pandemic ends soon with the vaccines on the near horizon. Both the owner and server spoke excellent English ! If you are in the vicinity, Litibu Grill is not to be missed !! Just tried to make a reservation over the phone and they'd only take reservations online which doesn't allow you to reserve anything for the same day. They only prepare food for the number of people they have booked. Not helpful nor friendly at all. read more

This is the best restaurant ever! The location is the most beautiful beach we've ever been to. It is a bit far away from Puerto Vallarta but the trip is totally worth it. Food is awesome and Alfonso makes you feel like you just returned home, and your home is somehow a Mexican beach paradise. They take the motif of a destination restaurant to new heights! The staff all look very happy to work there and so the service was impecable. Food and drinks were amazing and best of all, the prices are more than accessible considering the quality of the experience. Be sure to make reservations through their website cause they are full. I'm donating 1 Star because initially, we enjoyed the grill so much the first time that we went that we made reservations for our family of ten several months later when we returned on a once in a lifetime family vacation. We made reservations and shortly thereafter another family that we met up with made an additional reservation for 5. Upon arriving at Litibu Grill, our friends (the party of 5) were told that they Would not be seated because they knew us and they would not cater to a group over 10. The owner was (and forgive my language) the most pompous ass I've ever met. They told us that kids were not welcome and that they were a "boutique" restaurant. This restaurant is NOT family friendly. We visit Mexico because the people here are so unbelievably kind....this is not the case at Litibu Grill. Not only were we insulted and essentially kicked out of the restaurant because we were a family, we are pretty sure they called the police on us because we were in the parking lot waiting for someone to bring back a vehicle to pick up our 72 and 69 year old mothers that had walked down the beach from our ocean front home. We were fortunate enough to have had the KM5 surf bar recommended earlier that day and promptly relocated our party there where we were welcomed with open arms, taken care of like family and enjoyed wonderful live music. If you are looking for a spectacular sunset destination, set your sights on the KM5. If you have a stick up your ass, a desire to overpay and no children, I highly recommend Litibu Grill. read more

I recently made a trip to Higuera Blanca for 9 days and I was with a group of 15 people. We had been to Litibu Grill before and were very pleased with the service and food. So we decided to go back. My friends mom was part of the group and she decided to give me an early birthday present and take us all out to eat. Upon initial reservation for 15 we were told that only 10 people would be able to make a reservation. I digress, being apart of the food industry cooking and serving food I get how big tables are a pain. So we decided to split up the reservation to my friends family (10 people) and my family (5 people). We are not related in any way but we did travel as a group and did stay in the same house for the entire trip. And now this leads me to my problem with Litibu Grill. Upon arrival, 15 minutes early, we proceeded to TRY and get seated. I saw both my name and my friends name on their piece of paper with the respective guests. I asked if I could sit close to my friends. Upon hearing this the manager , maybe owner, spoke up. He said "We are a boutique restaurant and do not cater to groups larger than 10" I said we have 2 groups. He replied nope because you know each other we will not serve you unless you agree to the surcharge which is $30 per each additional guest over 10 ($150 extra right off the bat). I again explained that I was separate but he kept at it and also said that he did not need kids running around in his grass. We were waiting to be seated and so yes the kids were running around in his grass amongst empty waiting tables. My friend arrived for his reservation and immediately went to talk to this manager. The manager/owner would not budge and we all left. ALL 15 of US!! We instead went to another restaurant in Higuera Blanca that had no problem feeding us a great meal. Long story short, I will NEVER give this business any of my money. I will instead give it to more deserving people with a better understanding of Customer Service. BUYER BEWARE. read more

This restaurant contradicts everything on their website. Even though kids are said to be allowed if well behaved is not true. Our family was a group of 10 so we made a reservation and they confirmed it. Later that day a second group of five we knew arrived to our location where we were staying at. They made a reservation maybe an hour after we did and it was accepted. So, my group of 10 walked the beach including our elderly grandparents to go to the restaurant while the group of 5 drove and arrived five minutes later than us. When we walked in we told we would not be seated because kids weren't allowed because it was a "boutique" restaurant which is not what it's website said. A few minutes after when the group of five arrived they told us both of our groups wouldn't be served even though we had made a reservation JUST BECAUSE WE KNEW EACH OTHER. Bottom line is if you have kids under 12 you won't be seated and make sure you don't make any friends along the way because you might be tired away if you know people in the restaurant. However, our group relocated to the KM5 surf shop restaurant which was AMAZING, the owner treated us like family and seated us immediately. We enjoyed a night of spectacular, authentic Mexican food, great service, a beautiful mountain and sunset view, and splendid live music. I got the chicken tacos which were delicious!!! If your looking for good Mexican food and the best service go to KM5 surf bar!!! read more
