I recently ordered a dozen Kaiser rolls from Fresh and Hot Bagels, but ironically, the rolls were anything but fresh or hot. They were stale, crumbling apart at the slightest touch, and had a sour aftertaste that made them inedible. This experience truly left a sour taste in my mouth--literally and figuratively. With a name like "Fresh and Hot," you'd expect better, but they completely missed the mark. I'm a New Yorker, the price of things never really surprise me, until I entered this place. It was $18 and change for an egg sandwich and coffee. The egg sandwich was suppose to come with a small coffee but I asked for a large, so instead of an up-charge they just charged me $7 for a large coffee. Owner has to come back to reality! For that price you would expect one of the best egg sandwiches on Long Island. 3 strips of bacon and two eggs that barely covered the bagel. I won't be back. read more

This place is good and can be better. The only thing I don't like is that with the same glove they use to make your food, they also handle the cash register and money with the same glove without changing it and go back to making food after handling money with that glove. They should have a steady person to just do the cash register while everyone else is making the food. read more

I have no idea why this place thinks charging $9.99 for a Lox Bagel or nearly $8 for an egg sandwich makes sense but they definitely will never see my business again. I specified egg bagel from the choices, and asked for scallion cream cheese on the lox bagel. I was charged for two bagels, given plain bagels for both, and the amount of lox is laughable. So many other bagel stores give you a platter for what they charge, load the bagel with cream cheese and lox, side salad, and pickle. The egg sandwich they forgot cheese and despite ordering over medium they basically gave it runny as could be. Hash browns were soggy. Overall, terrible. read more

They can't even update their proper hours on google, states they are closed Sunday's and they are not. When you actually enter the premises you have to either wait 3-5 minutes for your order to get taken and then have to wave/scream at somebody to ring you up for your food. Or if you had the brain cells to call you'll be on hold for over 8 minutes and forgotten about. If you get fortunate enough to get your food it'll either be over buttered or wrong.They'll add cheese if you don't ask for it and not toast your sandwiches even though you asked them too. I gave this place 5 chances because they serve croissants which other bagel places do not serve and is very close to the house but I won't be coming back. 1 star because I couldn't give it something lower. read more

Best bagels in RP hands down. Had an everything bagel here this weekend with jalapeno cream cheese and I am still dreaming about it! Perfectly cooked and always fresh. I ordered a hash brown for the first time as well, and it was delicious. Kind of soft, but it had great flavor and it wasn't oily. PS. They have really good iced coffee and they have decaf! A little background before i get into this review...i recently moved from Brooklyn, who i consider to have to best bagels anywhere. Anyways, I think the bagels are decent. i got a sesame with cream cheese. They are the best that I have had in the area, which isnt saying much, but they arent bad. I would definitely try the bagel again if in the Rocky Point area. I think it deserves about a 4 but my issues are not with the bagel, moreso the place. First of all, i got a sandwich on a roll as well as the bagel I mentioned above. The bagel wasnt bland to me but the sandwich sure was. Not even decent. Second and probably more important was the cleanliness. I had a problem with them not taking off their gloves to handle the money. At first I thought it was an oversight by one of the young staff but then I noticed that they specifically have a sign by the register that states that the FDA doesnt specifically require that gloves be taken off and that the studies are inconclusive. I get that part but I feel just knowing the different contaminants that money carries that they would just air on the side of caution...but who knows, maybe its just that I am a high maintenance Brooklyn-ite and have unrealistic expectations but anyways, thought you all should know this. read more

I find this place makes the best bagel on Long Island. Service is excellent, Bagels are always fresh along with a large selection. I stick with an onion bagel with eggs and bacon. Wife likes an onion twist with vegetable cream cheese. I cant step into another bagel place after eating here the rest suck. read more

It was a good bagel. But when I handed the guy a $20 to pay. He kept his gloves on, and then immediately went into making everyone's bagels without changing the gloves. I thought it was really gross and was going to ask for a new bagel when I saw to the left of the cash register that they had a sign that said they DO NOT have to change their gloves by law. I don't have to tip by law but you do it to please the people making the food. Not worth the aggravation of having money on your food. Will not be coming back. read more

This place is a Rocky Point staple, during their business hours they are always busy, their bagels are delicious, and I'm glad that they offer a French toast bagel (as most of the other local shops have begun to offer as well) though the hole in the bagel is much wider here than at other shops, which could be a good or a bad thing depending on your preference. I fully support this bagel place as they offer a free coffee with the purchase of a breakfast sandwich. read more

One of my absolute favorite bagel places. The owner and employees are all very nice, which is helpful at 6am. I've had almost everything here, but my top 3 are the olive cream cheese, salami/Cheddar/lettuce/mayo, and the blt with Cheddar...each on a salt bagel. Best bagels around. Although they have plenty of competition the service sets them apart. Polite, fast, accurate. That's all you can ask for. And the bagels are Always on point. The one thing I DO NOT agree with is the owner does not give the hard working kids the tips from tip jar. He says is "goes towards the meals they eat while working" kind of messed up.
