Would love this place, especially the vegan options but, they NEVER get my order right. From adding real chicken when I ordered the Impossible (multiple times) , to completely forgetting the dressing multiple times to not having my order at the time it was suppose to be and having to wait 20 minutes or more again multiple times. Just Salad is one of my favorite salad spots in the city so I was so happy that they're expanding into Long Island! Especially since this location is in a plaza so it's convenient for parking and grabbing your bowls! The staff is great, super friendly and works quick if you're here for a grab and go meal. They have several pre-designed salads and bowls on the menu (which are great by the way) but I personally prefer to make my own bowls. This was my first time back to Just Salad in Commack after coming to an Elite event here for the grand opening. I WASNT DISAPPOINTED!!! This time I had a make your own salad. It was delicious!!! The ingredients were very fresh and tasty. The dressing was a lemon vinaigrette which was light and refreshing. I once again got the pineapple lemonade which is a sweet and tangy refreshment. The people working here are so nice. I also love the environmental aspects of using biodegradable bowls as well as compostable utensils. And having the trash area easy to navigate between these things. Jessica is the manager or owner and she was walking around the dining area making sure everyone was happy with their food. I have had several salads, at least six, from this restaurant. The ingredients are on display and visually appear fresh, and when you bring the salad home everything tastes fresh. Because the ingredients are fresh, the leftover salad lasts in the refrigerator for a few days before you notice any changes. For the salads that I have brought home, the weight of the salads has also been good, usually around 24 ounces +/- a little either way, but a good portion and filling. The restaurant is open for a healthy lunch and/or dinner. I have compared the Just Salad restaurants on Jericho Turnpike in Commack and Motor Parkway in Hauppauge. I found the restaurant in Commack to be superior in taste and portion size/weight of salads. read more

My boyfriend and I have come here for dinner a few times recently, for a healthier option that's similar to CHOP'T which we love. I really really loved the seasonal sweet chicken bowl (with mixed greens, pickled red cabbage, regenerative quinoa, roasted chicken, sweet potatoes, tajin spiced carrots, pumpkin seeds, and hot honey goat cheese). Fancy salads with a LOT of differently prepared and spiced ingredients are exactly why I come to fast casual salad places. I never have the time to make all of the different components, so it really feels worth it to me. The last time we came here, I got the winter harvest bowl, which had roasted chicken, mixed greens, red cabbage, goat cheese, apple, sweet potato, pecans, and regenerative black lentils. The lentils were barely cooked, some of them not at all, and some bites made me worry I chipped a tooth. Hands down the best salad I've had in forever. I went to my first yelp elite ever (so luckily I did not have to pay 15.00 for my salad). I guess considering what's in each salad the cost isn't too bad - it's just paying 15.00 for lunch just is not in my budget lately. The staff were great and everything looked super clean. We came here recently for a Yelp Elite event. Just Salad has been my go-to for fast casual if I can find one and they are popping up in LI. It is located conveniently in the same shopping center as Trader Joes with plenty of parking. Unfortunately, my favorite dish Warm Chicken and Goat Cheese is no longer on the menu. We had the Cilantro Lime Chicken which is my husband's fave and I selected a new bowl Hot Honey Harvest. The warm bowls were delicious and filling. Considering it was 8pm when we ordered, they were sold out of chicken thighs (hubby got the last one) and balsamic mushrooms for my dish and offered substitions for them. The hot honey goat cheese had a sweet kick, a little hot initially then it was fine. Service was friendly and efficient. This place is bright and airy. I decided to give Just Salads another shot since I went to the one in Manhattan for a conference and ended up LOVING it. I decided to not have the fried chicken but do the oven roasted chicken. I thought the salad was good and my boyfriend liked his. We tried the chicken poblano soup and WOW. That will be my new winter meal lol. I had a great first impression of the place because it was super clean and aesthetically pleasing. I was greeted by a kind lady who took my order with a smile. I ordered a Tokyo super greens salad with chicken. The food was really high quality and fresh, but the chicken was not so tender. The whole salad felt dry without dressing, so next time I'll have to get some. My boyfriend got a buffalo chicken wrap with light dressing and he absolutely loved it. I can still remember vividly , tweeting to Just Salad that they needed to come to Long Island. This was over a decade ago. Now they are in Commack and although their menu is vastly different I still commend this brand for sticking with their message of sustainability. A decade ago, I would walk in with my reusable green bowl at one of their sporadic locations in Manhattan. I would go between ordering the JS Turkey Club or Chipotle Cowboy. That Turkey salad is long gone but the Chipotle Cowboy still holds a spot firmly on that menu. It looks a tad bit different with the standard being plant based chicken for protein but you're definitely able to substitute. I enjoyed my salad and substituting the Smoky Poblano Ranch instead of the chipotle vinaigrette that it came with. That dressing brought me back! Finally this location is bright, spacious and still looks brand spanking new with how clean it looks. The staff hustled for the lunch rush and they were just overall friendly. Grateful that this spot is now here and I believe their other location is now in Melville. Now I need them to come to Queens! Hopefully it doesn't take another 10 years. read more

I've had this place a few times. The food is spot on each time. It is extremely overpriced and the "make your own salad" is VERY misleading ($1.99 for an egg, $2.99 for chicken PLUS $1.99 for cheese??? what's included in build your own salad????). It's extremely fresh thought and everything is made to order. Parking sucks! Between trader joe's, the pizzeria, dicks sporting goods, and like all the shops, there's never any parking. The service isn't horrible but they all could use some good training and customer service skills. The line starts in the back of the place. They're supposed to give you a slip according to the people at the register, but the line workers never do that. You can't hear anything, ever. Not many seem to speak english either which doesn't help when ordering. They did mess up my salad today, but they didn't forget to charge me for the extras I didn't even get. Today, what upset me and encouraged me to leave this review was because of how management was speaking to their staff. There was a new gentleman helping us and you could see he was learning. The female hire up was speaking down to him, which I found to be wrong, especially since it was in front of customers; Workers need to be kindly taught, not discouraged and be told "we'll send you home if you mess up" - This is why i'm giving it 2 stars. read more

While the food and service was great the main thing that is not is it is completely overpriced. I don't care how fresh the Ingredients are we can all make a wrap on our own for less than what is being charged. You guys would have something really great if you adjusted your price point in this rough economy. Who can afford to even go out to eat anymore with this ridiculous inflated prices. 17 dollars my wrap came out to be with one tiny piece of chicken with salad, avocado, carrots, pickled onion and some of those crunchy things with dressing. It was delicious but I will not be paying 17 dollars for a wrap bagel chalet isn't even that much and they are known for being pricy. Total shame this could have been something great but considering it's in an area where people have more money I guess will Probably do well for folks that can afford it. I went on February 9 2023. It was hard to tell who had ordered already and who was waiting on their food. They need like a divider or something. Dining room was a bit dirty. Salad was decent, yes overpriced, but what isn't? The reason for the three stars is the customer service. When you're quoted an arrival time for an order, it should not take 20 minutes longer than the quoted time. Getting someone's attention was also impossible so I stood there patiently and any attempts at communicating with staff was ignored. It was myself and one other woman and at one point we started laughing because she was also waiting 10 minutes longer than me. Incredible service!! My first time trying Just Salad, I was greeted at the beginning of the line and explained how the ordering processes worked. I had just had a bad experience at Sexy Salad down the road where I had to walk out and I expressed my story to the gentlemen. The ordering process is very streamlined and easy. I got to the register for them to tell me my order was on the house due to my bad experience down the road! That was so extremely nice of them! I'm also 6 months pregnant and it just made my day!!! Leandra and Yessica are friendly, welcoming, sweet, and kind. My order is always correct and tastes fresh. The tables are always clean and the food behind the counter looks as fresh as it tastes. They have a variety of options and the salads are great portions. My only issue is the location. They are located in the same parking lot as Trader Joe's and parking is always an issue. Come to find out they won't start making the order you placed unless you go up to them and ask them to. There are about 20 other people standing around waiting for online orders that they haven't started making and don't tell you that you need to let them know you're here.
