If you are looking for "the one"-- that one hair stylist/colorist that is PHENOMENAL at everything…read morewhether it's a maintenance cut/color or a dramatic change, than ALLIE KNUTSON is your girl! I've always worked in the beauty industry and I can truly say that she is amazing at what she does! From my personal point of view she is the best when it comes to sassy short hair-- mostly because that's how I've had her cut my hair quite a few times.. I always grow it out then decide that it's time to get back to a trendy short cut & Allie kills it every time! Her point of difference is the amount of passion she puts into every cut and color service she performs-- you can just tell when shes cutting or coloring that the creativity is oozing out of her! Bonus: you will always leave her happier than you first came in-- she is such a positive and inspiring person! Double bonus: she is actually really great at knowing what you're trying to say when explaining a cut or color you want, "you know I want it to do that thing-- and i want my color to be a warm caramel colored platinum blonde." Which is basically a contradicting statement as far as color goes-- but she asks the right questions and figures out what you're truly looking for without getting frustrated with you or you with her-- BEYOND AMAZING! (because hey, sometimes stylists/colorists really are expected to have a magic wand like harry potter instead of shears.) I'd say Allie is as close to Harry Potter as you're going to get. :) Drawback: because she is FABULOUS she is tricky to get in to see-- so call ahead for your appointment and set up your next appointment while you are still there!

She is very sweet and recommends products that work best for your skin but doesn't pressure you into buying any of them. I will be getting a facial as often as possible! I also want to shoutout ANNIE. I've been getting my hair done by her for years. My hair looks so alive and bouncy every time she cuts my hair. One of the many things I love about her is she never cuts off more than I ask but is still able to make my hair look super healthy. My whole family goes to her now because they were so impressed by the haircut she gave me. She is super sweet and amazingly talented.

Okay. This was kind of a funny experience. I Googled a spa experience for a certain date (my…read morepartner's birthday) near me. This came up. They had a package with infrared sauna, Korean body scrub and massage. The sauna my partner was not ready for, nor the body scrub. He doesn't like extreme heat in saunas. They left us in there for close to an hour and came back and apologized in broken English, like they forgot we were there. Then they told us to get into these elevated bath tubs. That's the best way to describe them. They had foam mats on the bottom, and it looked like jet sprays on the side. Well, they told us to get in, face down, with our heads sticking out the fronts. Not super comfortable in any way, including getting in an awkward position in front of these ladies. So the water was between cold and very hot. It was Dove body wash, nothing special. They scrubbed us head to toe around five times. Asked why we were there, and I said it's his birthday. They asked his name and sang happy birthday. Very funny. Then came the massage. I had to use the restroom. This is where I was really disappointed. It was pretty dang dirty. Not just kinda. Like, dirt. Everywhere in the bathroom. So now I'm headed back for this massage, and I am worried about the cleanliness. The massage consisted of each small woman climbing onto our backs and using their elbows and knees. She put me into a bow position (those in yoga know what I mean.) Remember, we have no clothes on; it was very, very uncomfortable. She kept saying wow, you're flexible. They tried making conversation, but it was stilted English. I was trying to give back some conversation to be polite, and my lady literally just walked away from me while I was mid-sentence. Actually walked out of the room. I wanted to laugh with my partner, but he was putting himself into a self-induced meditative state to avoid the awkwardness of the whole thing. I definitely would not go back. I felt a lot of pain the next day. My lady was rubbing my feet, and hit a nerve of some type, and commented, hmmm. what is this? And I kept saying, yeah, that hurts. Until finally I had to yank my foot away and say, THAT HURTS. It's in a strip mall. You get what you pay for.

My friend booked for us to have a spa package (massage, Infrared sauna, and whole body scrub). Good thing we aren't modest, because the set up was the same as for a romantic couple's massage. I felt so exposed with my body essentially splayed out for exfoliating. They used axe body wash along with the exfoliating treatment, which was overwhelming in its artificial man-scent, and sort of a confusing choice for a spa. The staff did not help get a relaxing vibe. Two women got in a verbal fight about how much to charge us at checkout. They also generally rushed us from one space to the next without much gentleness. It was what it was, and sort of the kind of experience that's fun to recount at a dinner party, but I didn't feel pampered whatsoever.

The problem with moving is finding those people you can't live without. Things like doctors,…read moredentists, and a good haircut; you know the basic essentials. I tried a couple of places before settling on Salon Cheveux. The place I went to back in California pampered me beyond belief. They had free beer/wine/mimosas and the haircuts took at least 45-1 hour. Being a guy, an hour long haircut is pretty long, but it is well worth it at the end. The two places I tried before Salon Cheveux did decent jobs, but the big issue for me was that they seemed to do a rush job. They would pull out the clippers and just clipper my hair. Never looked super great. My husband came here and had a haircut by Kirsten. I thought it looked great so I decided to give her a try. Right away I liked her and this place. Clean, bright, and a good smack of luxury when you walk in the door. No free mimosas, but I can live with that. Kirsten does an awesome job. She never used the clippers on my hair and she really takes her time to make sure it is done right. Sometimes there can be a wait to see your stylist, but what salon doesn't? It isn't a terrible place to wait and you should know by now to factor that into your appointment. The only gripe I have with them is not being able to tip with a card. I don't regularly carry cash or pay for anything with cash. It adds extra steps to the haircut process when you have to remember to have just enough cash to tip. I won't dock them a star because that is management's issue and nothing to do with the quality of work or the store. 82/100

I made all of my 2026 appts in January 2026 so I had the appts I needed for the year. I go in approximately every 6 weeks. In March I made it for my Birthday so I would have my hair done for celebrating. The receptionist calls to cancel my appointment because my stylist is going on an unplanned vacation (one of their kids gave them the trip as a gift for Christmas so why did they even schedule my appt in March if they knew in December they would be gone) and doesn't even try to fit me in, just says I can schedule with another stylist. Let me add to this that I have extremely difficult hair to cut and style. Not just "anyone" can do it. So I'm left high and dry for my Birthday. Now I have a June 1st appt scheduled and I find out today, May 26, that another vacation has taken priority over my appt and again they cannot fit me in before he leaves. When someone charges $108 for a haircut you expect some professionalism and customer service. Could the stylist call and try to fit me in? Nope. Makes the receptionist do his dirty work. Maybe he should just retire and vacation all he wants rather than make appts he doesn't keep. He never used to do until this last year. I am finding there are much friendlier, very talented and more customer service oriented salons in White Bear than this one and they aren't as expensive. Would not recommend based on the non existent concern about their clients schedules/needs. Overpriced for what you don't get in my opinion.

I had heard a lot of rave reviews about hydrafacials from friends and colleagues so wanted to try it and this was the best rated location closest to me. I was not disappointed! The experience was so much fun, so relaxing, and I loved that the bed/chair? Was heated! The extraction part was a bit painful but I think it's cause I've never had such a deep clean facial, super excited to come back again in 6 weeks again see the results in a few days!

I was warned of the post treatment burning sensation and of the possibility of inflammation. Those both happened to a degree which I don't feel I was warned about. On day 6, I developed what I thought was a rash/infection by my mouth. I contacted my doctor since it was a Sunday, and was advised to be seen in person. Turned out that I had gotten shingles (I have been vaccinated)! I was prescribed an Antiviral as well as some ointment. I had also sent an email to Belladerm. They did contact me on Monday and offered to call in a prescription for an Antiviral. I feel like some sort of partial refund for the issue would have been an appropriate gesture. I will say that my skin tone from the treatment is a little better, but not TWO THOUSAND dollars better (plus the cost of the doctors visit and prescriptions). It was not money well spent. I did learn my lesson.
