Winter has arrived. How do I know this? It's not the layered clothing or scarves... not the cold crisp mornings or the fact that the sun has vanished by five... it's because my lips are prone to cracking and my face feels dry. Yay winter. In the market for a new esthetician, I checked Yelp and settled on Fresh Facials & Skin Care. I called and spoke with Jesseca about my needs. She recommended her "Winter Wonderland Facial" to start. If she felt that I needed a little more, she booked extra time to ensure that we could take care of it. Parking was metered and easy. Her studio is tucked away on the second floor of the businesses, above a yoga studio. She greeted me downstairs and once inside, gave me a cup of spiced tea to stave off the chill. I filled out a new patient questionnaire while she put spa socks on my feet and arranged warm stones underneath. After we spoke about my skin care needs, she left the room so I could disrobe. I climbed into what could only be described as a heated bed with thick marshmallow topping and waited for Jesseca to return. We chatted while she worked, letting my level of reply dictate the amount of conversation. I respect that because I have had sessions with estheticians and massage therapists who chatted throughout to the point of distraction. Her touch was light but firm and I vainly struggled to stay awake. I'm nearly sure that I nodded off a couple of times but I was just so damned comfortable. My skin was cleansed and steamed before Jesseca did a luxuriously lengthy facial massage with scents reminiscent of the season. She then applied a spicy cranberry + oat facial mask. As I sat with my mask on, she moisturized my hands and forearms. Jesseca did a couple of extractions on my nose where the bridge of my glasses rest but left no mark afterward. As I said before, her touch was light but firm. I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation. In fact, my cousin visited Seattle this past week and proclaimed Jesseca to be one of the best that she had ever seen. My cousin also appreciated the freshness of the ingredients and that vegan masks were offered. Wow. I finally see a light at the end of the tunnel for my 20-something newly acne prone skin. My whole life all I heard was "peaches and cream, you're so lucky..." well I didn't know how lucky I was until I turned 23 and my skin lost it on me. Yikes. At a loss, I looked into glycolic peels. After leaving a message at Fresh, Jessica got back to me pronto. She was the most kind and informative of everyone I spoke to during my "research". She spent a lot of time talking to me about my lifestyle and goals for my skin while on the phone. Because of her warm and well thought responses to my questions, I didn't hesitate to make an appointment. Today was my first of a series of 6 peels with her...and beyond! She really took the time to examine my skin and kept me informed at what she saw. She was very reassuring, made it easy to trust her putting acid on my face :). She groomed my brows while we waited for my peel to finish then did the extractions. Post peel, I'm a little pink but my skin feels soft and isn't irritated at all. I really feel like she went above and beyond expectations. I am so relieved and trust that we are going to get my skin back on track. Jessica made it clear that I shouldn't hesitate to call with ANY questions skin related--be it some weird ingredient in my new moisturizer or what mineral makeup is worth the money. Jesseca= Amazing! AAHHHMAAAZZZIING! She gives the best facials I have ever had. Her products are great and smell delicious because they are real and fresh. She makes 4-6 fresh masks while you lay in her fluffy, comfortable, snuggly bed. Lots of spas give these "foofoo" facials that you have to wait to see results for. Not Jesseca. You see results before you leave. She is incredible! Jesseca knows everything. She analyzed my skin, told me about the current products I use and told me what products to change over to for the type of skin I want and results I am looking for. Within a month, my skin was the best it has ever been in my entire life and still is. She also does micro-dermabrasion with a diamond tip. I see Jesseca every 6 to 8 weeks. I'd been searching for a new aesthetician since moving here from NYC and tried this spot for the reviews and that it's not far from me. Julia asked me pertinent questions, noticed right away that my skin was over dried from my products, and suggested I drop a couple. The actual facial was relaxing and effective. My skin was dewy and glowing when I left. Julia has a dry sense of humor that I really like, and the music she played was mellow and pretty cool (not at all like that Enya-like crap some places insist on using). It brought to mind Bowie for some reason! At the end, she suggested I use a gentle cleanser and recommended a $10 one, which made me very happy that I didn't need to go out and spend a lot of money. I just turned 30, and I'm still struggling with acne. I've tried accutane (it worked for a couple years only), retin-A cream, and harsh cleansers that dried out my skin. My mother-in-law is an esthetician (in the midwest) and she recommended finding an esthetician I like and getting regular facials. Just got my first facial with Jesseca yesterday. I found this place on yelp. :) I had to call a few times to get ahold of Jess, but it was memorials weekend. It wasn't a biggie. She was able to get me in the next day. :) Jesseca is so friendly. She sat me down and offered me some cucumber water. Mmmh.. We talked about my skin and the products that I've been using. She wrote down everything and was very understanding. She even asked me to bring in my products next time and asked about my pass facial and derm experiences. Then she got me a robe and told me to get tucked into her massage bed. She also told me that her robes run in bigger sizes ^_^ She suggested I tucked it like a towel. Hehe. She got out of the room so I could change into the robe. The bed was super comfy, it was like a bed of feathers. Jessaca came into the room and asked if she could tuck my feet in. Of course she could! It tickled a little. I loved that Jesseca was not in a rush and did everything she thought was good for my skin. She was very gentle in everything she did. Her products are all natural and she even makes some of it. My follow up appt is on Monday. She also recommended a bunch of stuff for me and a new regimen for my skin care. I was happy. Had my first facial in many years with Jesseca last night, and she did a wonderful job- I didn't really know what kind of facial I wanted, so we talked about my skin and what my goals were and went from there. Jesseca did a clinical microdermabrasion session with me, explaining how it all worked as we went, and then followed up with a combination of extractions (firm, but gentle) some soothing masks, and a lovely hand/arm/shoulder massage. She told me about all the products she was using and why (from their source to why she'd picked them for me specifically) but never suggested that I go out and buy them- I really appreciated the lack of upsell; she even suggested some effective home remedies that might help my oily, acne-prone skin. Jesseca is very friendly and professional- intuitive as to the level of conversation that is comfortable to you, and simply provides a very high level of service! The location is convenient, clean, quiet, and very luxurious. I felt completely pampered. I recommend Jesseca and Fresh Facials without reservation, and will be seeing her again. read more

To sum it up in one word - wow. What an amazing experience. It all started when I found myself in a situation demanding a great looking face. A friend had suggested a facial from Jesseca. I was quite skeptical, considering facials to be "a girl thing." I reluctantly agreed to "give it a shot." That was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I showed up for my appointment a bit early and had hardly sat down when Jesseca came out to greet me. Her appearance and demeanor were very friendly, yet professional. She took me back to her room, and immediately I was in heaven. All my senses were stimulated. Soft, blissful music, low lighting, flickering candles, a nice plush chair, wonderful tea, and a refreshing, slightly citrus scent. I climbed into bed and felt like I was laying on a cloud. I wish my bed at home was as comfortable as hers! The heated bed is great at keeping me warm, too. Jesseca came back into the room, dimmed the light, tucked my feet in....and I was completely relaxed. For the next hour I laid there in a state of complete relaxation, far greater than I experience on a regular basis. During the session Jesseca did a great job of telling me what was going on with my skin, asking about my hygeine and lifestyle habits, and catering the facial specifically for my needs. She also thoroughly informed me of what I needed to do to maintain my now clear and smooth skin. All in all, I'd rate Jesseca's facials a 12/10, and I have to say I'm hooked! I've gone back five or six times since my first facial with her, and loved every session as much as the first! Her back treatment is just as great as her facials. My back has cleared up a significant amount after her magic touch! Guys, facials aren't just for women. Sure, I expected to lay there resenting my decision to go in, wishing it would hurry up and be over. Instead, I had a chunk of time to let go, relax, and let everything be all about me. I've been unhappy with the skin on my face for a while, but have not had a good idea of how to make it better. I tried salicylic acid products as a teen, but experienced irritation. I finally thought to get a facial, and, after reading Fresh Facials high marks on Yelp, I emailed them and made an appointment with Alex. Alex was really friendly and responsive from the first email. That was a big plus for me. She also worked on my face for 1 hour 40 minutes although I only paid for an hour appointment. The environment in the room was very comfortable, and I benefited from the relaxation as well as the facial care. I've never had a facial before, and experienced some redness and dryness for a few days after. After reading, however, I think this is reasonable to expect after applying peels, using an extractor, and doing other forms of cleaning. I was pleased with the effect on my skin overall. I would say I was happy that my skin received a deep cleaning and felt refreshed. Probably the biggest benefit from Fresh Facials has been Alex's working with me on finding products and a facial care schedule that works for me. I have a home care routine now that helps me to feel more confident, and that is important to me. My review is four stars because I don't have enough facial experience to compare and give a "perfect" score. I recommend Fresh Facials, however, based on Alex's responsiveness, the pleasant atmosphere of the space, and Alex's commitment to helping me feel better about my skin. read more

Breakout Busting Cleanser, Rosehip & Hibiscus Cream, Tea Tree & Vinegar Toner I have been using the Breakout Buster Cleanser for a several years now and I am amazed! My skin now has an overall better texture and appearance. I have not had a major breakout since I started using it! Paring the cleanser with the Tea Tree & Vinegar Toner has been a great combination I have interesting skin I am very prone to breakout but I do not have oily skin like many people who struggle with breakouts. So finding a product that REALLY works and does not dry my skin out is a struggle. All of the products that I have tried from Fresh Facials and Skin Care work and make my skin look amazing. Before I found Jesseca I thought I could never like my skin or feel good about how I look without makeup on but after all Jesseca's help I can now say with all sincerity that I LOVE my skin and without her and her amazing products I do not think that would have been possible. read more

JESSECA. IS. AMAZING. I'm an actor, and my skin is incredibly sensitive. I have to wear makeup for shows that often clogs my pores and leaves me not looking my best. In the past when I got facials, the products would often interact badly with my sensitive skin. But with Jesseca, I leave glowing and soft and clear every time! Even when she does extractions, her calming techniques afterwards make my skin feel completely soothed. I notice results immediately and they have staying power. My love for Fresh Facials & Skin Care has driven me to setup a Yelp account to give it much deserved (and very much overdue) praise. I've been seeing Jesseca for 1 1/2 years now and owe her complete credit for taking my overly hormonal and acne prone skin and bringing balance to it. Here are the top 3 reasons to make an appointment with Jesseca: 1. She's the best aesthetician around: She's got more energy than most, is truly passionate about her work, and is results driven. I go in there, sit under her ultra bright light that allows her to see every black head and blemish on my skin. She's diagnoses what I've got going on, explains it to me in a way that makes sense and then treats it with whatever peel, scrub or treatment is needed. She gets excited by the prospect of pimples and clogged pores, and she's not afraid to get in there and extract! It's the small things that make the difference: If you have a blemish come up between appointments, Jesseca will accommodate you in her busy schedule to take care of it. She always has a glass of water with freshly squeezed fruit in it (yesterday it was grapefruit, the time before- pomegranate). 2. High quality products: Jesseca, having already created a line of skin care products and knowing every detail possible about the ingredients, has just brought in a new line of products. USPA is a pure organic, vegan, fair trade line--- and I got a sneak preview yesterday, and love the richness of them. Most of the ingredients are much higher quality than those found in department stores with comparable pricing. 3. Results - Results - Results! Although I love spending an afternoon being pampered, if my skin didn't show noticeable results from our appointments, I probably wouldn't still be a client today. Skin care for me has become an investment. I turn 30 next year, and I don't want my skin to age any quicker than it needs to. Last month, I had a European facial with Julia, who is apparently the new owner of Fresh Face Seattle. I read all the rave reviews about Jessica, but she's not there anymore. Bah! I'm not sure why, but I've had the worst luck with health and beauty services everywhere I've been in Seattle since moving here about four months ago. I will sum up my experience with Julia like this: You should go to her if you want to lie down in a cozy little room and pay $110 (plus tip) to have a very nice girl put facial products on your face in the exact same way you would do it at home. I had an amazing aesthetician at Burke Williams in LA, who really knew about skincare and actually improved the look and feel of my skin by giving me facial treatments that I can't do at home. All Julia did was talk to me for a minute (it didn't seem like she knew anything about eczema or sensitive skin) and then she asked me to settle in to the comfy bed and encouraged me several times to fall asleep(??). She then put a hot towel on my face, put on some facial cleanser, gave me a light facial "massage," used the same hot towel to remove the cleanser, then wrapped the hot towel around my face (instead of using a steam machine), rubbed my neck a little bit, did about 5 half-hearted extractions, put on a mask, rubbed my arms a bit, used the same hot towel to remove the mask, and finished with a moisturizer. At the end, I thought, well of course she wanted me to fall asleep because if I stayed awake like I did, I would realize that I could have done the exact same thing myself at home! Julia is a really nice girl, but she's no aesthetician. I just can't see why anyone would pay her $110 when you could just buy some Simple Apothecary products (which is what she uses) and put them on yourself at home. I'm going back to LA tomorrow and I'll be visiting my former aesthetician on Friday for a *real* European facial. read more

uh-maaazing! not only is Jesseca amazing at lifting the impurities from your skin, she's very knowledgeable about the ingredients in products she uses. She turned me on to Simple Apothecary's products and I saw a dramatic transformation in my skin after a week of using it!
