YUMMMMM The smoothies are sooooo freaking goooood. I made my own smoothie with mangoes, pineapple, and banana. It was so reasonably priced too. I'm from LA we don't have smoothie joints in every corner and if we do they're $9-11.00. ALSO The people are so nice. Bless their hearts. Appearance is unassuming from the outside, but the options here are high quality. You can see them prepare everything from fresh fruits, and it's all easily customizable. Getting an açaí bowl for less than $10 (with 3 toppings), and a rewards program is a steal in NYC! I always order the coffee açaí bowl--different toppings from time to time. They always turn out delicious and give me just the right amount of caffeine boost. My one complaint is that they open late on the weekend. I came here on a Monday afternoon and ordered an acai bowl. Comes with 3 toppings included in the price ($8.99 before tax) and they gave a pretty generous amount. This is a fair price in my opinion, given how expensive acai bowls can get and especially in NYC. The owners were very nice as well. I've noticed this place on yelp and the fantastic reviews it's gotten, so today I decided to try an açaí bowl from this place. It's a tiny shop right next to the train station , I went in and noticed all the health food snack and drinks. The store was managed by an elderly women and man, who seemed very friendly. The açaí bowl toppings were limited, I wish they had more options. The toppings I ended up getting were mango, coconut flakes and almonds. The açaí base was not good, it was icey and flavorless. After a few minutes I felt a tingling on my lips and I knew right away that the ingredients used were not organic. The açaí bowl was $9, not bad. My absolute favorite smoothie place I've ever been to anywhere, not just NYC. I've ordered from them an almost embarrassing number of times now - they're that good. They have smoothie ingredient options that I've rarely or never seen elsewhere, like walnut, apple, grape, papaya, cranberry, pumpkin, to name a few. Everything I've tried has been super fresh, and they pack their food for delivery with so much care. So far, I've had the banana maple walnut, avocado, pineapple coconut, peanut butter banana, strawberry banana, and a ton of custom smoothies - everything delicious and fresh. I only have 2 complaints: - IMO, many of the smoothies on their menu are overly sweet by default. For instance, it seems like they use sweetened peanut butter, almond butter, and yogurt, so if you get a smoothie with already-sweet fruits with either of those things added, you might be surprised just how over the top it can get. Some others have added maple syrup or honey by default. If they switched to using unsweetened peanut butter, almond butter, and yogurt this place would be almost perfect to me (don't worry if you have a sweet tooth - you can always add maple syrup or honey). - If you buy a large size smoothie, for whatever reason, they tend not to blend it as thoroughly, so expect some big chunks. The small size smoothies have been perfectly blended every time though. read more

Fresh Pick is a juice bar, smoothie spot and overall health-conscious food joint that focuses on healthy smoothies, juices, acai bowls and snacks like protein bars, fruit cups, yogurt and basically lunchables for adults (packaged meats, cheeses and fruit). They work a little slowly because they are small and the line gets long but everyone is really friendly and quality of the smoothies and bowls are delicious. I bumped into this place accidentally and it will be my go-to lunch spot or dinner for late nights at the office. Really happy to have discovered a juice bar nearby. I ordered the Berry Bowl which included strawberries and blueberries as part of the acai base. The temperature of the bowl was perfect. I like it cold. The base was very smooth, sweet, and delicious. The bowl came with three toppings. I chose granola, blueberries, and strawberries. The granola was crunchy. The berries were fresh. It costs $7.99, which is consistent with other spots. The size is small but enough for an acai bowl. I wish they had a larger size which I could upgrade too. Similar to my critique of other acai bowls in New York, a great honey could really put the bowl over the top. Fresh Pick is known for their juices and smoothies at reasonable prices.
