This is my favorite place to go for drag produce, cold pressed juice, and even fresh oils. They arent any pricier than any other store unless of course you are buying specialty items. Now there are some items that I can get at a regular grocery store that I wouldn't go all the way to fresh thyme to get, but if I were there , I would pick up. The draw is the delicious, ripe, sweet produce and veg that is to die for. Being a girl that loves my fruits and veggies I love a place that sells the freshest of produce. There are also products for your health snd wonderful soaps and soaks that you can purchase. I like their lavender soap and foot soak. And seasonally they have the most delicious Apple Raspberry juice. The stores are kept clean and the staff is friendly! They have remained old. During the Covina crisis and handled the situation well! I give them and A + and highly recommend Freah Thyme. read more

I don't usually review grocery stores, much less chain grocery stores. But this I want to specifically shout out this fresh thyme because I have been there many times in the past two years because I work nearby, so I frequently stop by for lunch and snacks. I have to mention MIKE - who works on the floor with short white hair, and he's kinda tall, he is always super helpful and friendly. Fresh Thyme saved my dinner party, so they are A-OK with me. They have a wide variety of fresh produce year round. The store was busy enough for food to turn over and remain fresh. I can see stopping here from time to time. Many shoppers were talking with each other, which made it feel like a neighborhood store. This beautiful new Farmer's Market & Health Food store located in a plaza next to Sports Authority and on the opposite side of Gold's Gym. Open daily until 10pm, this grocer offers fresh produce, hot food, healthy options at the salad bar and throughout the entire store from beverages to fresh fish and meats. There's a deli, house-made pizza, fresh baked breads, cheeses, pet items, baby needs, household and body essentials. You can buy oils and coffee in bulk as well. Staff was cool, not comparable to the personalities of TJ's staff or the charisma of Whole Foods team but maybe they'll warm up once the dust settles. We've definitely seen this store before, nothing new about it but the location. Product and pricing are equivalent to the other health food markets we love so much (Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Lucky's and Fields Food). Give Fresh Thyme a whirl if your're in the area. read more

I come to Fresh Thyme when they have a sale or if I need something specific that they sell. I do prefer them sometimes over Whole Foods because they can be cheaper. One thing that bugs me is they changed their app that was working just fine for me and now it doesn't work. I try logging in and it says my account doesn't exist. It can be frustrating. One thing I do like about Fresh Thyme is that if something doesn't work or because I have sensitive skin, as long as I have the receipt I can return it. read more

I shop based on current weekly advertisements, meaning my review is based mainly on my experiences with the availability and quality of advertised products. This location tends to be fairly busy, parking tends to be full in the front (Tip: If you're in the front row back in, it'll be easier to get out - between people & cars it can be a challenge to get out of your space.) Their bacon (from the meat counter) is incredibly good. I tend to go for the Applewood smoked when it's on sale, but if they're out I've gone with the plain smoked bacon (haven't tried the pepper). Note: If their bacon is on sale you may want to get there early, they've been sold out before, but happily gave me a rain check. I've had great experiences with their sale produce, always fresh, and available (even toward the end of the week). I love their variety of fresh produce as well. The dried herb section is great! Nothing like being able to buy exactly what you need in the quantity you need it in. Their customer service is great. I've needed assistance in produce, meat counter, dried goods area, and the cashier(s) - all of my interactions have been fantastic with extremely knowledgeable associates. We just had the grand opening of Fresh Thyme Farmers Market. There was hardly any place to park and the inside was jammed with people not looking like me but purchasing. As expected the check out lines were long but that is to be expected. I wanted to audit the store and see what I would purchase from this new store. The place bills itself as organic. I saw nothing in the store that would dispute that claim. I checked out their meat counter as was limited to sausage, fish, and other items. The sausages looked absolutely wonderful. And the fish looked very fresh. Should be fresh since the place opened today. :) They have a large selections of fresh vegetables celery, radish, lettuce. carrots. They also had a great selection of fresh baked bread which looked great. I walked by the self serve meat section and saw cuts of beef all grass fed, pork, and what caught me attention lamb steaks. I am going back and purchasing them for sure. This is a niche store but much larger than a Trader Joe's. I see this as filling a void between regular huge supermarkets and smaller stores selling organic food. read more

I come for the sales. When Fresh Thyme has a sale, they're not kidding; and if it's something I need or use, I'm in. Produce is always fresh, cheese varieties are abundant, deli offerings are plentiful and at "more" reasonable prices. I haven't patronized the bakery section, but the smell is enticing. There's only one canned good aisle (I think), and they offer spices galore. I've found a few here that I needed -- seemed to be unknown at other stores. The friendly stock guy in the aisle helped me find a spice once when I was looking oh-too baffled. Although it's easier to grab up prepackage meats, I've patronized the butcher counter a couple times, and the attendants have been knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. Checkout can be a bit of a wait, but it's never too long. And the checkout and bagger folks are efficient and friendly. P.S. the boneless, skinless chicken breasts are massive and pretty often on sale. I can't imagine how big those chickens must have been. read more

The produce is good. Not as good as Whole Foods, but fine. Could not find good (variety-wise) apples. I wish they were not keeping fresh (Artisan?) bread on the floor that is one or two days old. Have to be careful. They have good bread, but it needs to be fresh. Somehow I don't trust the fresh meat/poultry either. So, prefer not to buy it there. All this is disappointing because I would shop there more otherwise. I would give the store two stars based on the old bread and the questionable meat, but I think the store has potential, and when the bread is fresh, it is great. I hope that people will shop there and the store one day lives up to its potential. read more

A new Fresh Thyme is soon to open by my house in Kirkwood so I figured I'd stop into an existing store to check it all out. I've been to the Ballwin location a few times now. As others have already pointed out, they focus on produce and bulk items. Almost 1/2 of the store is dedicated to these goods. Their produce is good, fresh... one drawback is their pricing. It's a bit more than you'd find at the bigger stores. In the packaged goods area they focus on high-quality goods. I'm really excited for the new store to open within steps of my house. I've been a Trader Joe's regular for years and I think this spot might win me over. read more

Over the last few months I've used the store occasionally to pick up a few items and was never really impressed. My August 7, 2018 visit was my most recent and it was my last. Because when I walked into the store there was a horrific odor that just overpowered me and it was a odor of uncleanliness around the entryway. I then proceeded to the produce department where I found food that appeared to be on the verge of going bad and there was also a mild unappealing aroma in that area. At that point I just left my cart and walked out of the store...never to return again. read more

I only shop for their sale items, as other stuff is pricey. Had a bad experience today as I tried to return a bottle of wine that was opened as we didn't like the taste. The lady was unhelpful, refused to return it stating that MO law states they cannot return open alcohol, which had never been the case at other stores. Was not helpful and I told her we'd never buy alcohol there again. A poor return policy to say the least. read more

I have been to the Fresh Thyme in Fairview Heights, IL quite a few times so I knew what to expect here. I think this one is probably a bit larger than the Fairview Heights location. I like the produce department here, I like the bulk bins, they have a very substantial beer and wine selection, and it's clean and bright. Perhaps the best department is the Health & Beauty. Their selection is admirable. I have found alternative products to what Whole Foods carries and also the same products in different sizes. It won't be a regular stop for me but I will certainly shop here from time to time. read more

I am very disappointed that the fruit I got (beginning of June) was bland. The strawberries were thick white inside, the orange had a big dark black spot under the peal so I threw it out. Fresh Thyme does a fine job of competing with Whole Foods, however, some of us were hoping for better prices. Trader Joes is a good comparison on pricing. Fresh Thyme offers a great produce selection, scrumptious breads, wide-range bulk products and fabulous self-care products. Frozen food section needs a few more selections, however. I guess this place makes sense if you're just trying to avoid the mega-mart vibe. I'd personally drive two minutes down the road for TJ's though. I was very disappointed to see that this Fresh Thyme was following the CDC guidelines regarding the Corona Virus so loosely. Almost non of the employees had masks on and neither did the majority of shoppers. The attitude about our health was totally lax. Although I have loved shopping here, I will not be back. Data and CDC guidelines suggest that all people in close contact with each other should wear masks to prevent the spread of Covid 19. Dierbergs and Schnucks are excellent. Because the management takes this seriously, most people come in to the store wearing masks. If we want to get rid of this virus before there is a vaccine, this is what we need to do. read more

Fresh Thyme is a cross between Whole Foods and Lucky's Market. They have a deli, a huge bulk section (even chocolate covered pecans!!) and isles of health and beauty products. I live about 3 minutes from the store, so I often drop by if I am missing an item or two for dinner. I receive the ads and will also make a special trip if I know something I need is a good deal. With that being said, I'm overall not impressed with Fresh Thyme and definitely wouldn't do my grocery shopping there. Aside from the advertised weekly specials, the food is outrageously priced. $7 for a jar of Thai peanut sauce when I can get the EXACT same jar for $2.50-$3 at Schnucks or Shop and Save?! $6.99/lb for pork tenderloin?! I know they have a wide variety of organic food and I would expect these items to be more expensive, but they are jacking the price way up on everyday conventional items as well. I've also been less than impressed with the produce. 90% of the time I visit, it is to purchase their advertised produce specials. The shelves always looked picked over no matter what time of day I shop. I've also had some items go bad way before they should have. I'll continue to shop for the special buys, but be careful to check dates and thoroughly examine produce! The employees are nice overall, no problems there. Unfortunately, Fresh Thyme allows other companies to come hound their customers into buying other services. At one visit, the St. Louis Post Dispatch was at the front of the store and after nicely telling the sales man I was NOT interested several times, I finally walked away as he continued to try to get me to purchase a subscription. Definitely don't want to be bothered when all I need is 2 items. Made my 2 minute shopping trip into a 10 minute trip. There are just too many other grocery stores in Ballwin with better selection and better pricing. read more

I went for the first time yesterday and I will definitely be a returning customer!!!! The quality and selection and amazing and the prices are seriously jaw dropping on most of their food, even the organic!!! The fruits and vegetables are beautiful and prices are better than Walmart, Schnucks, etc. Their meat selection is second to none and affordable doesn't even begin to cover it. I was very impressed. Love the store, but severely lacking in customer service so I'll go elsewhere. I tried to ask a question of two employees passing me and was greeted with "what?" Not, "how may I help you." If both were so busy they could have said "let me get someone to help you." I then walked away determined to find the item myself. She then shouted after me "I was going to help you after I helped this other customer." Her tone was awful. The cashier was polite but no smile or friendliness either. Nice store with some unique items. Unfortunately it is unlikely I will go there again. The last three times there was only one cashier open. Today, the line was 15 people deep. This is not uncommon. I would have used self checkout but that is not available. Further, while the butchers were quite nice it was obvious they were untrained and really didn't know what they were doing. Very nice store with great fresh produce, meats, and fish. However, since it's opening only a few short months ago, customer service has taken a nose dive. Employees appear to be getting their hours reduced and seem very unhappy, yet there is a "now hiring" sign on the front door. Why would they be hiring when they can't seem to keep their current employees working and happy? Seems poorly managed. Location not great as you cannot see the store from busy Manchester Road. Need a billboard to help make store more visible. read more
