Excellent selection but the hygiene is below par. Saw a crab running around on the floor and they put it right back with the others. Didn't even think about throwing it out or washing it. I would definitely be careful with the seafood and anything that's raw. Drove over 30 minutes to arrive to this location. We arrived just under 10 minutes before closing time and found the entrance door locked. I asked to speak to the manager and he simply mumbled we are close. Even though i showed him my watch indicating it is 10 mins before closing. This is not your local corporate grocery store. It's a little grungy, but keep in mind that FF county would close it down if it wasn't safe and sanitary. It's no Super H-Mart, to be sure. However, it does have a decent selection of various international foods. Most of the food items carried here are for Mexican, Central and South American cuisines, which is understandable as most of Hispanic descent in this area come from those places. As a result, there aren't as many items that are used in Puerto Rican cooking. Still, I did see that in the produce section, they did have yautia and calabaza (West Indian pumpkin). The first time I visited, the only way to get calabaza was to buy a huge one that looked like it weighed about 10 pounds. Today, I noticed that they are now carrying some pre-sliced wedges, which is more reasonable! The Asian food selection amouts to 2 aisles which are not well organized. For example, I was looking for some Szechuan hot bean sauce. Giant and Harris Teeter didn't have any so, I went here. I first looked in an aisle that said "Asian sauces" and came up empty. Then, I decided to check the second aisle --- and found it! There is also an aisle for Indian and Pakistani foods and a couple of aisles for "American food". The frozen foods section was predominantly Hispanic foods, including some that I've never seen before in a market, like saltenas. The second largest selection was Asian foods. The baked goods were on racks placed in one of the frozen food aisles and the vast majority of items were for Mexican, Central and South American products. As for the seafood and meat counters, the selections were wide and varied. I found it quite interesting to browse in both sections. There is also a very large selection of beers. I think that they are trying to sell more items than there is comfortably room for them all. Bloom used to be in this location and Fresh World still has all the Bloom infrastructure in place. All in all, having browsed all the aisles, it is a good go-to place for ethnic foods and is close to where I live. Like I said, it's no Super H-Mart but it will do. read more

If you are brave, adventurous, love a bargain, & can handle some gnarly smells & possibly getting trampled by a shopping cart - then you should def check it out. Let me explain. It's cheap. Sooo sooo cheap. And eclectic. Who knew there were like 4 varieties of eggplant? There are white ones you guys. White eggplants! I haven't bought them yet but isn't that just so cool? In all seriousness though, it's an international super market. Catering to the local Hispanic, South Asian, Middle Eastern & Far Eastern communities. The real prize here is the fruit & veggie section. It's super affordable, varied & fresh. They have a fresh fish section near the front door that causes the funky smell. It's not pretty & it's definitely intimidating. The counter folks don't seem to have the time or the necessary English Lang skills to work with a novice like myself & educate me on the process of buying this fish. I love fish. I wish I could venture into this world & like go beyond salmon & tilapia but this fish counter is not for the amateur. I have taken advantage of their fresh meat section. Mostly because you can peruse those packages at your leisure & score some interesting cuts of steak & such. I love the Indian & Middle Eastern food sections & try to experiment with spices & grains cause they're so affordable here. In over 30 years of grocery shopping, this is the WORST customer experience I have EVER had the misfortune of encountering. The only positive aspect of the store is the nice selection of international foods. I went to the store to pick up some ingredients. From the moment I walked in, everything was a sh*t show. From the aisles being too narrow and general disorganization, it was a challenge to navigate through. Despite these flaws, I wouldn't have given this store such a low review, if it wasn't for my terrible checkout experience. First of all, trying to get to checkout is difficult. Due to the narrow aisles and shelf setup, there is very little room to get in a checkout lane. People were cutting through checkout lane lines (and pushing the carts of those waiting in line) instead of trying to find another path through the store. Once I finally managed to get in line, my experience really went down hill. The customer in front of me did numerous types of transactions with the cashier after the receipt had already printed. What should have taken 5 minutes literally took about 20 - 25 minutes. The cashier went over the customer's receipt with her personal cell phone calculator and then proceeded to do even MORE cash transactions. Hello?! Having worked retail, I know that is a major no-no. If there are issues, especially such time consuming ones, you send the customer to a manger and/or guest services. I would have been willing to forgive the major waste of time, but the cashier was SO RUDE to me. The customer that took forever was greeted and the customer before her was greeted. She didn't greet me at all or bother to apologize for the extremely long wait. A greeting and an apology goes a long way in customer service. I speak from experience! That was the last straw for me. I told her that in those kind of situations, she needs to get a manger and/or send the customer to guest services to avoid causing such long delays for all of the other customers. That's when this young woman got a major attitude. She clearly wouldn't own up to her unprofessionalism. I called to speak to a manger. The person who answered the phone told me that the manager wasn't there. Surprise, surprise... I asked for the managers name so I could speak with him the next day. The person on the phone told me he couldn't give a name. Every PROFESSIONAL supermarket has the managers name posted. Needless to say I'm mad and disappointed with Fresh World. Most of my cooking is ethnic / international and they will be losing my business. I had the bright idea of coming here to pick up a few things for dinner since I was not far away. I've been here a total of three times now. This place is fine, mind you its a bit grungier than your typical grocery store so just be prepared for that. This place is truly an international grocery store they have a wide variety of items that is much more extensive than the couple of aisles that are dedicated to international items in your typical grocery store. The pros of this place, fruits and veggies are generally much cheaper than at the regular grocery store. I must say they have priced things fairly expect sometimes there are items which can be overpriced. My usual shopping list here would include vegetables, some international grocery items, and anything else that catches my eye. The place is usually crowded during weekends and nights weekdays. If I get a chance I get my groceries in the mid morning hours. Lines can get long as well, but they work fast. For an idea of prices: - Ginger: $1.99/lb - Scallions: $0.33 a bunch - Cucumbers: $0.50 Notably, the seafood department was on one side of the produce department and did not smell. This means the fish is fresh and good quality. The rest of the market is fine. Each row is divided by cuisine (Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Spanish, etc). Here and there we have challenges in getting the fish cut small. If it is not cut small, it takes so much time and effort at home to cut it in to small pieces, since we don't carry butcher's knives at home and most people won't carry at their home either. The guys at this department is so arrogant. They give a good smile and please you, if you are a lady. If you are a man, forget about buying fish here. Even they skip the man waiting in the line, if good looking lady comes in. You could end up standing in line for a while, during this corona time. Had a terrible experience again recently. Snacks, noodles, grains, spices, canned food, sauces arrayed like a table of elements, for each major region of the world. That means you could find soy sauce or coconut milk in at least two different sections. Like a twin separated at birth. This style of organizing is typical of most grocery stores. Fresh World seems unique in that it has a rich diversity of Asian ethnic foods: Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, Indian/South Asian, in particular. There's also Middle Eastern, Latin American and African food sections as well. Checkout service is very fast and overall price points are competitive for vegetables. I buy vegetables, fruits and many grocery items from Fresh World. I love the freshness but was so surprised last week to see that in spite of Covid-19 pandemic and the advise of US Surgeon General and medical experts on the need of a face mask while in public and to maintain 6 feet social distance between people, Fresh World is allowing children of all ages and adults to enter their supermarket and shop without a mask. This supermarket gets crowded and the 6 feet social distance is not being followed. They are not controlling the crowd. It is this type of behavior by Merchants and disregard to public health that is causing the spread of Covid-19. I'm very disappointed. Buying fresh vegetables or fruit from there is not worth it if the price of such at the end is Covid-19. My recommendation is not to allow anyone to go in and shop without a mask. read more

When you're asking employees questions while the store is busy as can be- don't always assume they're going to provide you A1 service. Instead try to understand the situation and not complain about stupid things. The prices here are great there's always specials. Compared to the small markets that I am used to this is a relatively large market for Asian foods. Their produce seemed fresh and they had a wide variety of vegetables that I often have to search for. The frozen section in the front that contains ice cream had a wide variety of Asian goodies that we don't often find all together, the thai tea ice cream with jelly inside was definitely on cue for the taste. We also got some taro popsicles which I still have not tried, but certainly will soon. The fruit did seem a bit bruised which made picking out good pieces a little trickier than at other grocery stores. The jackfruit price of .99$ a lbs is really great, in florida 1.29$ was a good price. Their set up is a bit redundant and confusing, but I've never really been to an Asian grocery that I completely understood. They had everything that I am used to in Florida and even more. I am so happy it's so close to my house and has such wide variety, I will have to try out more of their items to really decide on the quality but so far they have met my needs in regards to variety. read more

This place is great for buying produce, spices, foreign foods. Great prices is the ONLY reason I shop at this store for certain items and it is closest to my home. But other than that I think the health department should be doing scheduled investigations there. Don't even try to use their restroom. You will surely catch something, it is a horror. as soon as you enter The store you are overwhelmed with the stench of fish. (I always heard fresh fish doesn't smell...hmmm). The sidewalks in front of the store are black and disgusting from spilled food and dirt. (The whole strip mall is in fact like this, very neglected) The parking lot is always full of trash and liter. Love this grocery store for its cheaply priced fresh vegetables and variety of ethnic food items. They have huge selection of Asian and Indian foods too which is grocery shopping heaven for me. I discovered their chicken breast is cheaper than Costco but they fluff it with trimmed fat that hides beneath the chicken breasts which I found out once I opened the package at home. I like how I can purchase fresh vegetables for way lesser than the regular American grocery stores. Barely see regular American customers here; most customers are ethnic. The cashiers usually do not make any any eye contact and they do not exchange any friendly greetings even when I initiate the customary salutations. Odd! The aisles are usually very crowded which is why my husband hates going inside the store with me. I would give the store 5/5 but they do not carry my favorite brand of ice cream and also they lack a good selection of regular American grocery items such as breads and condiments. Seafood section! While I really like their fresh produce and have been a customer for many years, It is time to point out some of the negative sides in sea food section. Don't know where to start from! I am afraid to shout to the public that THEY SELL spoiled fishes.. but sadly I have to let the customers know. The fishes (no matter what type, spoiled fish is a spoiled fish) are soft and breaky in texture, that you can't even marinate and put in the pan for frying. The flesh comes off the skin without getting cooked. Also, it smells weird (fish don't smell like flowers, but fish should smell like fish) in a way it shouldn't. Example: King Fish, butter fish, Whiting and few other types I tried. Sad thing is you won't be able to ask about the freshness of these fishes to those Hispanic workers.. 1. They don't understand what you are saying/ asking. And they can't speak back obviously. 2. They are cracking jokes amongst them and laughing/giggling looking at the customers. Really sorry to say. I use to love shopping at this place. it reminded me of getting groceries with my mother. The other day, I had an item (which I found I was allergic to after purchase since label was very unclear, no fault of the store) which I had purchased with lots of other groceries, unopened, original packaging, etc etc. Anyway, I didn't want a return, I wanted an exchange...the manager said no. why? I didn't have a receipt. I assured him, I have no need for this product and I have alot of other things to get so I only want an exchange...no return...he said sorry. no receipt. hence my day began, with a human being so human and robotic that he could not see the ill logic and mistrust he built for himself, his store, and his customers. I was literally being accused of lying and then told I could not exchange something eventhough I'm allergic to it and will NEVER use it. Anyway. needless to say, I will not be visiting fresh world again. Just another corporate store in a milieu of capitalistic facism. Paying workers lower than sustenance wages and having them be the gatekeepers of your profits to the disregard of the communities in which you conduct all your business. I discovered this market a few months ago and was wowed by the produce. The prices are so reasonable I branched out this weekend and purchased meat as well - specifically a whole chicken. The "sell by date" was 9 May 2016 which was yesterday. I froze the chicken on Saturday after purchase. Tonight when I took the chicken out of the freezer it was spoiled. So clearly it wasn't a good chicken at purchase just not at the smelly stage. I called the store and was first told about their 24 hour return policy for meat - guess I know why that is now! Then I was told since I didn't keep my receipt they couldn't help me. As customer service goes - this is disappointing. I have never had to return rotten meat to a store so I will admit I never read the receipt much less thought to keep the receipt. I suspect that 24 hour rule is in place because they know they aren't selling the freshest meats. What a shame they'd rather lose a customer than make this right - 24 hour rule or not. Misleading customers with the sell by dates on meat is not only wrong it's dangerous. Consuming that even the day I purchased it could've been very bad for me/my family. I usually like to shop here, but recently the service has gone down and the store doesn't seem too clean. There is a lot of disorganization. I have had a few incidents where the prices were misleading compared with the advertisements. Additionally, last time I asked a clerk a question about replacing produce, the man laughed, said something in his language, and walked away. I noticed that when another customer was able to communicate with a clerk, they were more attentive. The store needs to work on improving its customer service and cleanliness. read more
